This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of August, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - [1429], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, by Mr. [53].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1429].
-
Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body that prevent the normal functioning and activity of the system.
-
As we find, the abrasions and eruptions upon the body are the effects of deeper or hidden conditions; and with the correction of the disturbances with the eliminations the body would adjust itself to a more normal condition, thus ridding itself of these disturbances and give the opportunity for a better physical, mental and spiritual expression at this time.
-
These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1429] we are speaking of:
-
In the blood supply we find those disturbances that are the cause of the effects exhibited in the rising or boil or carbuncle and the rash on the superficial portion of hands, face, neck and the like; and this is almost a case of what has been at times pronounced hookworm [ringworm?], or a condition of the nature where the abrasions of portions or exposed parts of the body suffer the most.
-
These as we find indicate then the disturbance in the hepatic circulation, and the poor eliminations and the incoordination of the circulation through the eliminating systems; and that which should be eliminated through the alimentary canal becomes a part of the elimination through the respiratory system and perspiratory system and the superficial circulation.
-
Hence the basis of the condition lies within a gall bladder or gall duct disturbance, as well as an engorgement in the colon area; and the indigestion or the dyspepsia that sometime ago was experienced by the body was the beginning of the disturbances that are indicated in the present - as being active in the present condition.
-
Then, we find in the colon - in the ascending and a portion of the transverse colon - an engorgement; and something of a prolapsus in the descending colon.
-
Hence we have had at times this fullness across the abdomen, this inability - through the very circulation or poisons as carried in the system - for the activities in the locomotories; the heaviness in the feet, the pains across the small of the back, the catches under the knees at times and through the shoulders; as well as a dull headache that has been a part of the experience and this at times has affected the throat, the eyes AND the hearing, as a ringing in the ears.
-
These are a portion, then, of the disturbances through the circulation itself. Of course the blood supply carries, then, the poisons that should be eliminated; and the arousing to activity of the liver, the kidneys, to their functioning, and the ability of the system to care for same in the eliminations from the body, must be the manners and means in which help may be brought to this body of [1429].
-
In the functioning of the organs as related to the nervous system and their activities, as has been indicated the disturbance lies in the hepatic circulation; the involvement of the liver as well as of the kidneys in their non-functioning in their nominal way. The stoppage or the inability of the alimentary canal to care for the eliminations becomes a part of the disturbance.
-
As we find, then, in making for the better conditions for the body:
-
Naturally we will find that applications to the specific disturbances upon the neck and hand and face will be help helpful, but these would only be as temporary reliefs unless conditions that cause or produce the conditions are eliminated or corrected; that the body may function the better.
-
DO NOT EAT MEATS OF ANY KIND! NEVER any HOG MEAT! No fried foods. No butter.
-
Milk may be taken upon the cereals or fruits or the like.
-
The green vegetables, cooked or raw, are most preferable. If meat is taken at all, let it be only fish, fowl or lamb - but there should be very little or scarcely any of even this, until the conditions in the system are corrected.
-
First we would, then, prepare a compound to be taken internally. Add these together:
Sulphur…1 heaping tablespoonful, Epsom Salts…1 heaping tablespoonful, Cream of Tartar…1 heaping tablespoonful.
Mix these VERY THOROUGHLY together. Keep these as a stock, but keep in a cool, dry place.
-
The dose would be a level teaspoonful of the mixture in a glass of water before the morning meal, and just before retiring at night. Be mindful of getting the feet damp or wet during the period of taking.
-
Across the lower abdomen, especially on the right side, we would apply CASTOR OIL PACKS. Do this for periods of half an hour to an hour at least three days each week. Best that it be done in rotation, three days straight running - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; then again the next Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, until at least three series. The Castor Oil Packs should be very heavy, three or four folds of flannel dipped in hot Castor Oil, as hot as can be stood upon the body. Apply directly to the body, over the caecum and the colon, especially the ascending and transverse colon.
-
Take IMMEDIATELY after beginning the activity of the properties internally an enema to eliminate the forces through the colon itself. This should be body-temperature; not too hot nor too cold, but body-temperature. Use at least half a gallon of water, and to the half gallon of water put a heaping teaspoonful of table salt and a level teaspoonful of baking soda - dissolved very thoroughly in about half the quantity of water before the other is added.
-
Repeat this again about every two weeks, until the system has eliminated the poisons from the system.
-
As to local application for the abrasions, we would prepare a compound in this manner; adding these:
Mutton Suet or Mutton Tallow, dissolved…1 tablespoonful, Spirits of Turpentine…1 tablespoonful, Spirits of Camphor…1 tablespoonful, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…1/2 teaspoonful.
Mix these together. Saturate a cloth with the mixture and apply, or paint the areas affected with the solution and apply a cloth over same.
-
When these have drawn to a head, well to have them opened and the core of same removed.
-
But keep up the constitutional elements for the correction of the causes.
-
Do these and we will find the better conditions for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What causes stiffness of muscles and what will relieve same? (A) Do as has been indicated, and with the taking of those properties that will produce the better or the normal eliminations, and with the change of the diet, this will disappear.
-
We are through for the present.
