This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 5th day of December 1923, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

1. EC: The general condition in this system we find not much difference from last we had this. The vibrations necessary (from the Wet Cell Appliance) are not being given in accord at the present time, neither are those reactions from this being of assistance.

2. This condition may be assisted and helped to restore the vibrations for the auditory nerves only when these are carried out properly, and the mind of the individual is kept on those centers sufficient to carry out the action of sympathetic nerves to reach through from the cerebro-spinal, and make co-ordination between sensory, sympathetic and cerebro-spinal organism. This vibration kept, as we have given, to the first cervical, and just above the umbilicus, and with the vibration set in charge, as given, will produce this, if kept in proper form, and done.

3. Keep these again in the system, if we would bring the best results for this body. Lose not of those forces as are creating in the physical that element necessary to make the vibrations, but carry those out, giving sufficient of the manipulation (via Jacob H. Farrand, D.C.) in proper manner and form to carry through to those vibrations necessary. DO THAT.

4. The general health is very good, for the condition. Some works are reached in these. They may be carried out, if they will only do as we have given.

R1. 1/10/24 EC’s letter to Dr. Jacob H. Farrand (D.C.): “I believe you are still giving the adjustments for Mrs. [147]. I have had a letter from her rather recently. I’d like to again inquire of you just how you think that she is progressing, whether there is any improvement or not and as to whether the vibrations as prepared through the battery have been kept in keeping with the suggestions made in the reading. Every once in a while we have gone over this case and now and then we find that there has something gone wrong with the vibrations, and each time that such has been the case she has written back with the information that the battery was either out of commission or that something was wrong some way or another.

“This has been rather a perplexing situation and condition. In all of my experience I’ve never had one just like it. It seems to me that it would be possible to get one of these batteries built and charged properly, for we have been able to get them in other places and people have received wonderful results from their use and in nearly every case these have been used in connection with either osteopathic or chiropractic treatments. Of course, it may be possible that this case or this condition is such an one that it does not respond to the vibration, yet I can’t understand just why every other one of these should be so successful and this such a stubborn case. I am sure that you have done your work properly, and it must be some fault with either the building of the battery in chemicals used and their mixing, or in the way same is charged. I know you have followed it with interest and have thoroughly studied the case from every angle. I am sure there must be considerable of a psychological condition as well as purely physical. Whether this can be overcome, of course, is the question, but I would thank you for the time if you would explain the conditions as you find there, for I would very much like to be of assistance, if such a thing is possible and it seems the readings have given that this can be corrected in one ear if proper vibrations are given and of course the conditions made to accord with same. Thank you.”

R2. 1/14/24 Dr Farrand’s letter: “I have been following the readings as closely as possible in every detail excepting the adjustments which we have not been doing, in fact I believe only one adjustment in about 3 months.

“Have had the solution made and charged as per the last reading which was correct. Have been changing the solution about every two or three weeks and using as per directions.

“I believe Mrs. [147] is somewhat discouraged and wonder if it would be of any advantage for me to come over and have a complete reading again. It is rather hard for me to get away but if you could arrange for a reading late in the evening or on Sunday I would be glad to come.”
