This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 W. 35th St., Va. Beach, Va., this 9th day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

1. EC: Now, we find the physical conditions in this body are somewhat on the improve from those as we have had here before. The application of the rays from the Radium Appliance is bringing about the conditions it should. While there is some mental worry as to the outcome of conditions, because there are some retractions, we see that these will be gradually overcome.

2. In this manner should the Radium Appliance be used for this body: Apply to the small of the spine during the day, see? (that is, in normal wear), and to the solar plexus at night - across the solar plexus, see, just at the end of the ribs - coming just at the diaphragm line. At least twice each day this Appliance should be removed and the body spread same over the eyes, see? not coming in direct contact but keeping the eyes closed during the time, for about three minutes. The Applicator should be re-charged in the sunlight each day, see? Just afterward would be well to use on the eye, see?

3. This, we will find, will bring the condition to the point where it is ready for the application of the Radio-Active Appliance forces, which will give the equalization to the system and rid the system of these catarrhal conditions that disturb the functioning of the system.

R1. 3/15/26 She wrote: “I am surely glad I’m on the RIGHT road and assure you I shall persevere. In the other rdg. you said in from 30 to 60 days I should take up the Radio-Active Appliance treatment again in connection with the other. I’ve been wearing the Radium belt now for 3 weeks. I am so anxious to get back to the other but do not want to take it up until you think I should. I do not like to ask you to write again but do not want to use in 30 days if I should wait 60, nor wait 60 if I can use in 30. Possibly sometime I shall be through bothering; even though you are patient there is a limit.”

R2. 3/20/26 EC wrote: “I am of the opinion that by the latter part of next week you should begin with the other applicator [Radio-Active Appliance] - that is, the one prepared by Mr. [195], and I certainly hope you will find that you are gaining more rapidly with the use of both of these. Please, Mrs. [147], don’t ever feel that you are a bother to us. The only bother has been that we regret we haven’t been able to be more of service to you. Don’t hesitate to write.”

R3. 3/26/26 She wrote: “I have been wearing the Radium pad now almost five weeks. There is no improvement so far as I can tell. In fact, my eyes have been more painful the past few days, I think, than they ever have. Also my stomach. I thought you would want me to let you know. I was so in hopes there would be something better to tell this time, but I AM NOT DISCOURAGED.”

R4. 3/31/26 EC wrote: “I am of the opinion that this must be retraction - I mean by that, there is more irritation at the present time but that you will find improvements beginning now very soon, and you will gradually grow better - something like when you open a boil. It’s very painful and bad at the time, but the trouble being released, you soon begin to see improvements. If you don’t very soon, I assure you we want you to let us hear, for you know we want to help out if we can.”

R5. 4/17/26 She wrote: “I do think my eye was more painful last night than it has ever been. The left eye appears to be getting as bad as the right one… Am trying my best not to be discouraged.”

R6. 4/20/26 EC wrote: “I am sure you must realize that the help, the cure, the relief, must come from within, and that the mind is the builder of the body. It, the mind, fills every atom, and when we become living beings in a material world our physical consciousness insists upon the body seeing everything from the material basis. This often hinders the spiritual body that is within - which must of necessity be perfect, for it is patterned after the divine. Then that necessary for every individual to arrive at a perfect state of health is to awaken that divine that must be innate in each individual. While it becomes necessary for us to apply physical conditions to the physical body, these are merely physical representations to the body attempting to present that same spiritual element that desires to make each and every one whole. Each and every one of us CAN be whole, if we will only arise, and arouse that spiritual within each one of us, to manifest itself through our individual being.

“As has been said, be not overcome with that which is evil, or be not overcome with the cares, with the physical conditions of a physical body, but overcome these conditions with the spiritual. [Rom. 12:21] It is true, ‘What ye ask in my name, believing, ye shall have.’ [Mat.21:22] All power, all force, that is manifested in the material world, in the heavens above or in the earth beneath, are manifestations of the all-seeing and all-wise Power. We are a portion of that power, for it has been said, ‘Come, let us make man in our own image, and in his own image created he them, male and female created he them.’ [Gen.1:27]

“Then, rely on that spark, and awaken it to such a fire within that all dread, fear, trembling, discouragement, dis-ease, distrust, will be thrust away forever. And that wholly divine light will awaken within, through the assistance of physical application for physical condition, to make the body whole. For God is God, the same yesterday, today and forever [Heb.13:8]. And His voice, ‘Be thou whole, [Mat.15:28] must then apply as well today as it did two thousand years ago. For in Him is the light, and the light shineth unto the dark places John 1:4, 5]. It awakens within the heart of each sad, disconsolate, discouraged individual, that power to look up, lift up [Luke 21:28], and trust wholly, solely, in Him. For in Him is LIGHT, in Him we move and have our being [Acts 17:28].

“Let’s try this, Mrs. [147]. Won’t you?”

R7. 4/23/26 She wrote: “I was almost heartbroken when I read your letter last night. You said in your last letter to let you hear from me real soon if there was no improvement and you would check up and see where the trouble was. I feel you did this and finding conditions unfavorable did not tell me. You know, Mr. Cayce, from the very first rdg. I have tried to follow your instructions implicitly. I was so encouraged this last time when I felt I could carry out your rdgs. and not have to depend upon someone else. I try to realize and practise what you tell me, but when everything seems so against me, it is, oh, so hard to do. Could I but detect the slightest improvement it would be such a help, in keeping my mind clear. I thought there must be some little thing wrong with the battery or belt was the reason I was not improving as we had hoped.

“Had I not been so hopeful this last time it would not seem so hard.

“Am I to keep on with the Radio-Active Appliance and the Radium Pad?

“I remove the Pad while using the battery, then replace it. Thought they should not be used together. Should they?

“I’ll do my best not to be so material. Am such a failure in so many ways.”

R8. 4/27/26 EC wrote: “I know I must answer you at once, to relieve your mind of an impression I think you have gained that was not meant at all. What I desired to impress you with in my letter, Mrs. [147], was your personal attitude toward yourself, and not that the rdgs. indicated anything you should not know, or anything that was detrimental to the betterment of your physical condition. I’m going to get a rdg. for you just as soon as possible. We are overrun at the present time, but I will get this in at some time when it is possible.

“You should keep up the Radium Pad and the battery, both. You may feel that these are not doing just what you desire for them, but in that most of all you must change your attitude. For they WILL, if you will but give them the opportunity. You want to be very persistent in the application of both of these, but also be very consistent. Don’t overdo it. Don’t tax yourself in trying to force the issue. Depend more on God to heal also. And I will ck. up on this just as soon as I possibly can. For you MUST get to feeling a whole lot better. We can’t have it - you just feeling bad all the time. Don’t condemn yourself and, above all, don’t lose heart! Remember, NOTHING is impossible with Him, and it will all come out alright yet.

“I’m mighty glad you wrote me, and I hope you will do so again whenever you have the opportunity.”

R9. 4/29/26 She wrote: “Your letter just rec’d and I want to tell you it did me a world of good. I do get queer notions, it seems, but you are always able to dispel them.

“Am using both the Applicator and battery and shall continue to use them ‘till you tell me to stop.

“I know how busy you are and do not expect you to neglect anyone else for me - expect to wait my turn.

“I had nothing special to write, only to thank you for all you are doing and especially for the very comforting letter.

“Am enclosing check which I have been trying to send for quite a time. Only wish it was for more…

“Will try not to be such an idiot again.”

B1. 2/11/26 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-27 advising interim tr. of Radium Applicator on solar plexus and eyes for long standing dry cattarh [hypertrophic rhinitis?], the basis for deafness and eye trouble.

B2. 2/24/26 She wrote she had rec’d the Radium Applicator last night and started using it immediately: “I do hope I’ll soon be able to take up the other again [the Radio-Active Appliance] and get good results.”
