This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 W. 35th St., Va. Beach, Va., this 11th day of February, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

1. EC: Now, we have here those physical conditions regarding the body, Mrs. [147], that cause so much distress and uneasiness to the whole body, in the condition that has become accentuated through the action of that which gives congestion to tissue in the system - that known as a catarrhal condition, existent in the intestinal tract, in the stomach proper, and in the organs of the sensory system. [Hypertrophic catarrh or rhinitis?] Hence the condition that has become existent in the hearing, and now affecting the eyes, and - as we see - give the most trouble [the eyes] when normal rest should improve the body.

2. The addition of those vibrations as were given FIRST to the system [the Wet Cell Appliance] (which seldom were applied in a proper manner, for lack of properly being adjusted for body), these assisted when given properly, and when the manipulations [chiropractically] were carried out properly. See?

3. Then, when the change was made to the manipulations osteopathically given, portions of the body were assisted; and with the attitude, with the use of the condition, some portions were assisted and detrimental effects were brought to others.

4. Then there was the added vibration of the Radio-Active Appliance that would create the equilibrium through the whole system, which produced retraction in the body. This, then, as we find, for this condition, is at present, under the present strain, rather severe or heavy.

5. Then we would change now (and this be taken up again later, see?) to the use of those properties as would be found in the Radium Applicator, see? wearing this (and the heavier this is charged the better it will be for the body, see?) across the solar plexus as much as possible; but at least three times each day REST, and lay the pad across the eyes, for TWO minutes duration, see? and we will find in thirty to sixty days a great deal of change for good in the body.

6. Then we may BEGIN again with the Radio-Active Appliance forces, to produce the more perfect equilibrium in the body.

7. Do that. We are through with this reading.

R1. 2/15/26 She wrote: “I immediately wrote for the Radium Applicator. You know I have always tried to carry out your instructions exactly. I think Dr. Farrand [Jacob H. Farrand, D.C.] more to blame than anyone else for our trouble in …, Ohio [in correctly following the early rdgs.].

“I have been so miserable, and felt almost certain I was deriving no benefit from the other [the Radio-Active Appliance], but wanted to give it a fair trial, as I dislike so much to be writing you and having nothing encouraging to say. I surely do hope for a better report next time. I shall write you after using the Radium Applicator and tell you just how I am, then you can advise as to time of using again the Mr. [195] battery [the Radio-Active].

“There is all the difference in the world in the way Mr. [195] made his [the Radio-Active Appliance] and the way the Wet Cell Appliance was made in …, Ohio. Mr. [195]‘s [the Radio-Active Appliance] looks as if it were made with the intention of getting service.

“Thank you once more from the bottom of my heart and wishing happiness for all of you, I am”

R2. 2/24/26 She wrote: “The Radium Applicator came last night and I began using it immediately. The instructions say wear pad on stomach at night and on small of back through the day, but I’m using on stomach only as you advised. The pad is so unwieldy it will not fit down on eyes, but I can use a cover on one eye at a time. From your rdg. I think you mean to place pad across eyes even though it doesn’t touch them (My nose interferes - it is too tilted on end). I was tempted to place pad on my ear too but would not without your advice.

“I do hope and trust you find this all right and that I’ll soon be able to take up the other [Radio-Active Appliance] and get good results. You know I shall do my part and keep on trying.”
