This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 W. 35th St., Va. Beach, Va., this 20th day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find in those conditions existent at present, the Radium Appliance forces give off that necessary to keep the eliminations set in motion. However, the body should keep the system cleansed more thoroughly through the intestinal system, or tract, if the irritation from the reaction would be beneficial, see? The irritation to the eyes, to the hearing, and the acute conditions we find are produced more from the system reinfecting itself by the eliminations not being carried off in drosses. And the system does not eat sufficient to supply that nutriment, with such poor assimilation. The assimilation will not be benefitted until eliminations take place more normally.

2. Then, keep both the Radium Applicator and the Radio-Active Appliance forces, though use the recharge - or the Radio-Active Appliance - only twice each week - Wednesday and Sunday, or any days opposite in that way and manner, see?

3. And keep the eliminations - not by purgatives but rather by using high enemas, preferably such as found in the Tyrrell Elevator, see?

4. Eat plenty, preferably of those foods such as greens and whole wheat, and laxative producing foods, see? Figs, pears, peaches (no apples), and cereals that have fruit in same. Milk - just so the milk is in that nature of that called buttermilk, or that as re-fermented, see? No sweet milk. Not much meat, but sufficient to give weight with the reaction in digestion, and enough to build on. Chicken broth is good, see? Do that.

5. We are through for the present.

R1. 8/25/26 She wrote thanking EC, saying: “I was one surprised person when I learned part of my trouble was self-poison. For several months my head has felt so strange but I thought it was from the catarrh. [Hypertrophic rhinitis?] Shall make every effort to correct the trouble. As for my eating, I thought I was eating like a woodchopper, and it isn’t forced either. Most of the time I’m hungry and everything tastes good, with the exception of the past week or so when all my food has tasted like it was seasoned with soapsuds. No doubt this is also caused from poor eliminations. Maybe in time I will get control of all these discordant conditions and I’ll have a good report, instead of discouragement. I do feel better today than for quite a while.”

R2. 11/20/26 She wrote: “My eyes have been better, practically no pain for 2-3 weeks, but the past few days there has been quite a little pain and have not been able to see so well. My hearing grows steadily worse, I think. I’ve carried out your instructions to the very best of my ability. Am using the battery only twice a week. Do not know whether you meant to use it that way indefinitely or just for the time being.”

R3. 1/24/27 EC gave her Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-31.

B1. 4/29/26 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-29 advising that her mental worry was retarding progress in treatment for her long standing deafness (complete in left ear and increasing in right) and eye trouble.

B2. 7/23/26 She wrote she could see no improvement and wondered if she should continue the Radio-Active Appliance, as ice had to be brought 12 miles and made continuing quite expensive. EC replied that he would get a ck. rdg. as soon as possible.
