This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 W. 35th St., Va. Beach, Va., this 23rd day of July, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

1. GC: You will check up on the physical condition of this body, and see if any change might be made in the treatment she is following. Has the Radium Pad lost its usefulness?

2. EC: We have the body and those conditions as surround same in the present. At present we find some little change for the better. In general we find the physical conditions are often very discouraging in this body. For the vibratory forces as have been set in the physical being, and the radiations from same, often are combative one with another, as has been given.

3. The change we would give for the physical well-being would be that the Radium Pad, that has been applied by the body, should be recharged, see? It should be returned for a recharge. And the Radio-ACTIVE Appliance forces for the body should be changed, in that these should have better CONNECTIONS. Return each, then, for readjustment, and for the betterment of the physical well-being. These we find will radiate - both - good for the body.

4. Keep in the attitude as near as possible to not be overcome by the trials of the physical being. Rather give self to that of doing what is best in thine own scope, applying every effort toward the betterment of others, and of self toward the physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Do that, see?

I can’t tell you how much I would like to come and help with your work [EC had written on 7/23/27: ‘Am wondering if you would feel physically able to take up some office and typewriting work here, sometime in the late fall or possibly about Dec. 15th …to be associated with the work of Dr. Thos. B. House in carrying out the reading suggestions…’], but I couldn’t leave Mother now and unless my eyes are better I don’t think I could do it.”

R2. 8/4/27 Radium Appliance Co. ltr. from Sec’ty to Mr. John R. Dutcher reported to EC: “Mrs. [147]‘s ret’d Pad shows secretions from a very acid nature.”

B1. 1/24/27 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-31 advising continuation of tr. for long standing deafness (complete in left ear, increasing in right), and eye trouble, caused from dry catarrh [hypertrophic rhinitis?].

B2. 6/21/27 She wrote: “Hence I am again telling you I am going from bad to worse all the time. I had hoped to be able to give a good report once but it seems impossible. I am asking if you will, at your convenience, ck. up on my case and see if I should keep on or if any change might be made. I’ve followed just as faithfully as I could your instructions. No need for me to go into details as you will find them for yourself. I’ve worn the Radium Pad 16 months, and I’m wondering if it has lost its usefulness. Would you please tell me?”
