This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of March, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [147]. Now we find that in some directions, or as regards some conditions, the body improved from that as has existed with same. While there is still those existent conditions in the reaction as should come from the central nerve system, and from the sympathetic system as supplies for the auditory forces and for the condition of the eyes also; still the general physical health shows some improvements. There has been, as has been given in the various conditions, that existent force in the system in the form of that that hindered the body from having the proper vibratory forces from those centers, as has been designated as respecting same. While that of the catarrhal condition shows some improvement, and at times is very, very much better than at others, allowing at such times a better reaction throughout the physical forces, and the eyes and the ear, the hearing, will for a time show some improvement - by retractions as set in. Then when there is a reaction through the blood supply, produced by the conditions existent in the system of the catarrhal forces, or congestion that brings about a clogging up of the system, this then produces irritation - and then, aided and abetted at times by other physical forces, or of exterior congestive forces, brings more of an aggravated condition.

2. The continued use of the battery and the vibratory forces, as has been given, has kept the body much in the condition of not growing worse, and of creating the proper element for the physical forces to be much bettered.

3. Were it possible for the body to apply with these (battery, and the appliance conditions for the blood and the system), that of the proper eliminations through the system and of the proper adjustments [osteopathically] for the muscular and nerve tissue to keep the body on the upbuild, so that the general health would so overbalance the condition as to make bettered forces for the body, we would find improvements, and the deteriorating forces hindered to the extent where we would be building rather than using up the energy as is being created by the vibration set up in system.

4. We would continue the use of the battery - Radio-Active Appliance - also of the Radium Appliance for the system.

5. Keep as near as possible to that of the alkalin diet that would keep down acidity and tending toward that of the eliminations through the system in a near normal manner.

6. We would do that.

7. As soon as we could, we would aid the system by the addition of the osteopathic] manipulations and with these we would bring about the bettered forces for the body, [147].

8. Keep those up, then, at the present, adding to as the abilities of the body will allow same to be done.

9. We are through with this reading.

R1. 6/16/29 In reply to a Cayce Hospital questionnaire she wrote: “I certainly owe MR. CAYCE an apology for neglecting to write and am heartily ashamed of it. Have no plausible excuse except that I’ve been busy and not at all well, but could have written had I not been negligent.

“Regarding my rdg. of 3/13th, I have not followed his instructions for the first time in all these years, for I have always been as conscientious in carrying them out as it was humanly possible to be. This time he tells me to keep on with both batteries. The Radium Pad seems worn to worthlessness and the Radio-Active battery not much better. So I’ve been intending to write asking if they needed attention. If Mr. Cayce would have said so in the rdg. without being questioned -

“I’ve had such peculiar feeling in lower left side and such severe hemorrhoids that I’ve been completely discouraged. Seems like I’ve almost reached the point of saying, ‘What’s the use?’ I don’t want to be a quitter but it is discouraging.”

R2. 7/1/29 She wrote: “I don’t know when my membership expired but know it has, so I’m enclosing ck. for renewal and rdg. I am so miserable I just drive myself to do anything.

“I’m not using the batteries. They seem to me to be in need of repair. What I want to ask is this:

“What can be done for hemorrhoids? What is causing the trouble in my left side - down in my bowels? Do batteries need revival or are they all right?

“Of course my hearing and eyes are always to be considered.

“If you can give the rdg. at once please do so, as I feel so uneasy about my side.”

R3. 7/17/29 Dr. Thos. B. House [M.D.,D.O.] wrote her: “To be perfectly frank with you, we think the best thing for you to do would be to enter the Cayce Hospital for a course of treatment as suggested by Mr. Cayce.”

R4. 7/19/29 She wrote: “It is impossible for me to come to the hospital. Mother is 83 yrs. old, almost blind and very, very frail, with no one to care for her except myself. Even though there was someone to care for her I would not leave her in her present health.”

R5. 7/23/29 EC gave her Ck. Physical 147-37.

B1. 5/24/28 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-35 advising further for treating dry catarrh [hypertrophic rhinitis?] which had caused long standing deafness and eye trouble, stomach and colon trouble (acidity, mucus, etc.).

B2. 2/16/29 She wrote: “I am writing to ask for a rdg. at your convenience. No hurry - nothing unusual, but I am just wondering if it is necessary to keep on using my batteries [Radio-Active Appliance, Radium Pad, etc.]. It seems there should be some change for the better after all this time, but I’ll leave that for you to say.

“My eyes are not painful as they were 2-3 years ago, but balls are sore all the time and I can see no better. You can see the hearing is worse, or so it seems to me. If I am to keep on with the batteries, are they all right?”
