This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of February, 1938, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. J. Francis Small of 229 Fourth Ave., New York City, and Sponsored by Miss Mary C. Clendenin, 400 W. 118th St., New York City - by choice of the Association Reading Committee. Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Michigan. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body - and those conditions and circumstances which attend same in the present disturbances.

2. In giving an interpretation of the disturbing forces - and in giving that as we find that may be applied in a material and mental and spiritual angle, we find that the condition may be well likened unto an entangled skein of the thread of life which manifests in a material body.

3. Hence things and conditions mentally, materially, spiritually, enter in. And the effects that are here produced are the entanglement of soul-matter in mind-expression in materiality, in this body.

4. There is, then, the necessity of understanding and interpreting the law of matter - or cause and effect - as related to the mental and spiritual expressions in matter.

5. As has been given of old, when there are disturbing or harmful or detrimental influences, there is error at the base or the cause of same.

6. For ever does that injunction stand, as the promises of the divine forces in the experience of man, that “Whatsoever ye sow, that must ye also reap.”

7. Just as sure as it was said that he that breaketh the law in the least jot or tittle is guilty of all.

8. Just so do the promises hold that “Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, BELIEVING, that shall ye have in thine experience - ACCORDING to the law as to what ye have sown!”

9. As we find then:

10. In the prenatal experiences of this entity, in the embryo, there was the forming of lesions that hinder in the normal activity and equal balance of coordination between consciousness and unconsciousness; arising in the functioning of the body-forces when in that state which is a manifestation or EMBLEM of the period of transition - or sleep.

11. What then IS sleep?

12. What relations does it bear to material consciousness? to the subconscious or superconscious forces of the body? of the mental and the spiritual body?

13. The fact that the physical grows weary and needs, necessitates, demands the periods of rest for recuperation in the experience of physical matter, is manifested in the activities of nature herself, in her every form - that is a part of, and is the experience of man in all his mental equipment.

14. For with all man’s knowledge he HAS not, DOES not forego this necessity - as is signified by the experiences about him in every form of spirit manifestation in matter.

15. That in man there is the threefold self - body, mind, soul (or spirit) - is significant; when there are the manifestations of such disturbances that exist in the experience of this entity.

16. (Not that this information being given is the attempt to justify same, but that it may be thoroughly understood that each entity, each soul must meet its own SELF its deeds done in the body! and in the BODY MEET them TO the glory of the GIVER of life! that it may INDEED be said, “God hath not willed that any soul should perish but hath with every temptation prepared a manner, a way of escape.”)

17. Thus the conditions become as a manifestation of that which was so well, so beautifully spoken of by Stephen as he pronounced - to those who would find fault with his adherence to the truth - that JESUS, the MAN, WAS the Son, WAS the Savior, IS the manifestation of the God-Consciousness in materiality! Yet it must needs be that HE, too, suffer through the trials of being buffeted, being tried by those who under the LAW (of man) were in authority but who under the spiritual law were His inferiors, His subjects; and die even the death on the Cross!

18. So must there be, so are those influences, those determining factors that have become - into man - as the weaknesses of the flesh, ills in the physical being; bringing oft through same great suffering - as to Him. For though He were the Son, yet learned He obedience through the things which He suffered!

19. Then, as the condition exists - this entangled skein of events, entangled skein of misapplication in this experience of this body, this mind, this soul - how may there be those things of a material or mental or spiritual nature, or all combined, applied in such a manner that the body, the mind, the soul MAY give the better account of itself in this individual material experience?

20. In the application, know that the APPLICATION and the reason is from that premise that all force, all power, all time, all space are in Him, the giver of the promise, “God hath not willed that any soul should perish.”

21. Then, in the entanglement in the BODY, we find a soul, a condition, where there is the break in this coordination of mind and spirit with the activities of the physical body.

22. That these have remained as inactive portions of the body-physical for a long period makes the necessity then for the greater precautions, but the more consistent application of that which may bring into the experience the untangling as it were of this skein, this matting of the ENDS that carry impulse to the nerve systems of the body; that produces this incoordination, this breaking of consciousness, this spasmodic reaction to the nerve centers and fibres along the cerebrospinal system as it attempts to coordinate the impulses broken in its associations with the vegetative or sympathetic system, thus bringing those spasmodic reactions.

23. THEN:

24. In the right side, about the portions where there is the emptying of the lower stomach or duodenum into the jejunum or the smaller intestines, where the lacteal ducts draw the greater forces from the activities of the secretions from the liver, the spleen, the pancreas, the gall ducts and the like - when these in the body become as it were emptied, or there is an overgorging of this flow, there is physically the recurrence of the spasmodic reactions.

25. Then as we find, there may be applied (not leaving off those bromides that are being taken to allay, to assist in the digestive forces, until there are) those influences that make for the enlarging of this opening, the breaking up of this tissue that PHYSICALLY causes the spasmodic reactions in the area (then gradually decrease the bromides).

26. And keep the mental and spiritual attitudes that what is being applied, being a part of the divine purposes and causes, may - if it is in keeping with the desire and purpose of the God Consciousness - arouse these deadened portions that lack the consciousness of allowing those influences within the system to give their greater expression through those depleted areas, by the non-use and the over-indulgence in other natures that draw upon same.

27. Thus there may be brought cooperative, coordinating forces; that the body, mind and soul as an entity may express the more in keeping with His ways.

28. APPLY, then, PERIODICALLY - for periods of at least twenty-seven days - every day for twenty-seven days - the Castor Oil Packs. Put these on at some specific time each day, for a period of two hours, as hot as the body may bear same - over the area from the upper portion of the liver to the caecum area, along the right side - cover this whole area with two or three thicknesses of heavy flannel saturated in hot Castor Oil, and let remain for the whole period of two hours, keeping same warm. Then sponge off the area with a little soda water, and, when dried, massage GENTLY with Olive Oil (a teaspoonful should be sufficient, or all the abdominal area will absorb) over the lacteal duct, the lower portion of the colon, the area across and just below the diaphragm or down the right side.

29. Do this each day for twenty-seven days. Then leave off for a period of a week. Then begin again.

30. And keep, through each application, that period of the deeper meditation; SEEING, knowing that what ye ask is being accomplished in this body!

31. And ye will bring that influence, that force into the experience where this entity may grasp the light, the hope that is eternal within the hearts of those who seek to know the face of the living God!

R1. 2/2/38 [1527]‘s mother’s ltr. to EC: “I am writing to you again, with the realization that your appointment for [1527] is now over.

“I feel that you will like to know that both the boy and myself prepared to join with you and then endeavored to hold our thoughts with you.

“I commenced an hour before the time you gave us, by reading your work to him, and talking over the fundamentals, as best I knew them.

“This we did until the right moment, when I suggested that we say The Lord’s Prayer WITH you, saying its INNER meaning with each sentence. Finally leaving it all with the Father, that HIS highest good might be done in the Reality, no matter what should come forth into this human plane.

“Then, we agreed to just sit quietly still leaving it all with the Father.

“[1527], himself seemed to go into sleep and wakened five minutes over the hour, saying, ‘Well, Mother I left myself wide open and I hope Mr. Cayce found an open door, don’t you?’

“And so for the purpose of research, I hope that we were all able to meet on the inner realms and that the REAL you found the REAL us.

“Whatever came, for the moment I am blessing you with my whole heart, for all of us. I feel sure that to have found you, is the answer to my many many prayers that the right door might open.

“I am writing simply to assure you that we were faithful and gave ourselves to the Highest asking that indeed the Highest might be revealed for the good of all. And we DID join you, and I am hoping and hoping that you found us in the Great ‘within’.

R2. 2/3/38 Miss Jennie Moore’s letter: “I know you say you do not care for ‘poetry’ - but the enclosure is not that

• namely impressions that might be the beginning of poetry if there were time to relax and work it into form. If you cannot ‘get’ it - turn it over to Mrs. Cayce and to Gladys. I have never told you, but whenever you have given a reading for me or for someone near me, I have held a pencil in my hand and let the thoughts come through in this way. Because I have not done it in a long time, I thought you might enjoy glancing over this one. I see that I used ‘the three’ and I recall that in another bunch of notes that were never typed this theme came out strongly.”

Notes during a Cayce reading [by Jennie Moore]:

YOU have sent so many miracles… The miracle of health and beauty and good fellowship, And now, having asked, we get a further sign of care. Help us to live to be worthy of Thy wonders Which do surround us. Yet never let this extra wonder be so common That it may be disregarded By those who see it, In its extra clarity, we see Thy mightiness afresh.

Strange and wonderful to know that over miles of land and water A friend now comes into this room. As a physician comes when there is need… But sharper, yet more kindly than a doctor’s hand This friend coming now across the miles Stands in the room, sits by the bed, Considers, examines, weighs - seeing all Seeing deep and through, not with the human eye Which seems so often to us a miracle in itself But with a greater eye - a mind’s eye Which sees without seeing And knows without knowing - in OUR small way of knowing.

O Father, to certain of Thy children Thou has given this larger eye And when it turns upon us we are awed, Yet grateful, prayerfully grateful. This larger eye of the spirit now turns into this room An eye which focuses over miles, as we know miles, A force which splits asunder space, as we know space And cleaves the clouds to do its willful good. It comes, an unfaltering step on the straight path That those who have wept may be comforted And that those who have cried aloud in anguish May be stilled in peace.

This larger eye is governed by the larger love To which all suffering is known Which would lift up any fallen And revive any breathless And comfort any afraid.

“And if he died today - his life would still be a miracle.”

Give us the vision to see and to acknowledge this miracle of a life Not to accept - not to buy and pay for - But to foregather before it in awe and reverence Knowing that only the greater love Which knows neither despair nor fear Could so transcend itself - its space - its limitations of mortal mind and mortal dread of death and of new places.

Ask now that as the Teacher speaks And as the Doctor serves So he may carry back with him into the little world of earth This larger courage - this larger understanding of THE THING HE IS THE MAN HE IS THE MIND HE IS As now that he may see as I have seen The miracle of overcoming - of surrender Which he gives.

For although learning is great and perception wonderful Still more wonderful is this transcending love which so yearns over mankind in its woe That it surrenders ego and personality and safety To help man from his cares.

This then the miracle of love That three foregather there and one gives up these human traits to come Here - where there is need.

And when all shall be explained wisely By men who nod in four slabbed hats Yet still we shall know awe Before compassion. And think perhaps it were better to do likewise Than to nod learnedly and to explain - Explain what is beauty and what is love and what is tenderness.

In the physical readings I always get “impressions” of an Arab like dress and see the white squat houses of the hills and valley plainly, but I have lived all my life in pictures in my head and do not understand how to differentiate between imagination and clairvoyance. R3. 2/5/38 EC’s letter to Jennie Moore:

“Seems so little to say thank you when I appreciate so very much your letter and, the recording of feelings during a reading - your poem - it is more than lovely Miss Moore, thank you, thank you - and there is a something of awe. Yes more than awe - that both appointments for that day the 2nd of Feb., 1938 moved people to give expression of their feelings. A lady in … had an appointment for her son [1527] - one of those so called incurables - and she was moved to write just the feelings she and her son had at the hour of the reading. So you can see, what all this has and does mean to me - has never happened before. Is it an advancement, is it a new development, something really happening outside our selves; or the assurance God has promised, that should and would accompany our sincere undertaking, like to think of it in that way - then it makes me feel humble and Divinely grateful. And aware that HE has every soul in mind at all times, do we but open our minds to the fact. Praise to the love of God that he sheds on the children of men. Again Thank you.” Edgar Cayce

R4. 2/5/38 Letter from [1527]‘s mother to EC:

“I received the ‘answer’ this A.M., regarding [1527] and want to thank you. I can assure you that I shall do EXACTLY as requested and I will let you know also EXACTLY all results.

“I have no doubt as to the accuracy of the ‘answer’ regarding the CAUSE. Both as regards the fact, that ‘as a man sows, so must he also reap’. I understand.

“Yet, again I feel sure that when the Christ which is the force of Selfless LOVE becomes ‘ONE WITH THE FATHER WITHIN’ why the release from past errors is attained, and then it is our part to sow no more, isn’t it?

“I am certain that the Father led me to you. Because I can feel that you work with the Father’s Will alone, for everyone’s good, in your work, for others. I feel that.

“And, I can understand that it was necessary for all three of us, as Souls, to have learned all the lessons we needed, before we found the right answer. And so, I am very very thankful for YOU having come to me.

“And now I want to tell you several incidents regarding all you say as regards the ‘physical’ part of it all. More as verification than anything.

“[1527] has gone through what a dozen or two doctors call a ‘process of elimination’, - X-Rays, this and that examination, etc. Tonsils out, treatments for this and that and so on. Well, now listen to this. About two years ago last August (in August, 1935) I had him take a Fluoroscope of the abdomen and the thing showed ‘some trouble in the region of the lower stomach’ OR ‘somewhere in the region of his appendix’. Imagine that! The doctor said ‘I think it MIGHT be a good idea to take out his appendix anyway’. So, hopefully, it was taken out!!!! Of course, not helping him at all.

“You can see (don’t smile at my enthusiasm) how wonderful YOUR work is?

“My husband and self are both ‘Aquarians’ and sense pretty well. But we just needed you. Although my husband has ‘felt’ always there was a something wrong somewhere in the abdominal region. And you see how we get so far but not quite all the way. We need more research don’t we? For several months [1527] has complained of pains somewhere near the stomach also and we had thought it must be adhesions. Can you imagine it all.

“Oh, I feel so very thankful to you. And I am talking in this homey kind of way today just to tell you that you have contacted the boy’s vibration in all sincerity. You will have had my other letter by this time telling you how we ‘sat’ with you. Well, it is all very wonderful.

“I gave him a treatment as prescribed this A.M. He is at home always, therefore it will be easy to follow it all out to the last letter. And I will.

“Then, too, I am thanking God and knowing that HIS love has reached us. Doing my own best in that way too.

“Today, being Saturday post offices are closed after noon. So I will mail you again Monday and commence to send towards my subscription so that someone else may be blest too - later on, when they need it, even as I did.

“Assuring you of our gratitude, sending the best thoughts your way, and blessing you,

R5. 2/9/38 EC’s letter to [1527]‘s mother:

“Thank you for yours of the 5th, that the suggestions were in keeping with that determined by the profession seems to me to be rather prophetic, and am believing that great good will come from application of the suggestions given. There have been quite a number of cases through the years where marvelous help has come, and am believing it will for [1527]. All glory and praise to the Divine within each of us, and the promises, of a loving Heavenly Father through Jesus the Christ.

“Know we will be praying with and for you and yours and hope you will write us of any experiences you may have with the application of the suggestions! These I believe oft times come as assurances, not otherwise, for our use, if you understand what I mean.

“Write us as often as you find the opportunity. Know we are desirous of helping, if possible.

“May the love of the Father keep you and yours.”

FORGIVE US - still!

Lord Christ - when as a man This earth - Thou trod To teach that LOVE alone, can Lead to God

Thou suffered too - as we today! Just as a little child wast born That we might know the ‘loving Way’ And Godward turn!

And when from Love, men turned aside Despite Thy Works - Thy love for them And e’en Thy body crucified Forgavest them!

O Lord! we turn to THEE - ‘within’ We seek alone - THY Will! Cleanse us of every Adam - sin Forgive us still!

R7. 3/4/38 [1527]‘s mother’s letter to EC:

“Here we are again. This time, I have been waiting for a two week period to elapse so that IF there should be a nice report, I could then give it to you.

“AND there is.

“The first TWO weeks [1527] had a sleep-attack, with the period of Friday as previous to starting the ‘packs’. But, last week on the Friday, there was no awakening from sleep and the day passed with me praying that God’s perfect Will was manifesting in [1527] at last. Yes, it has been so. Today is the second Friday that there has been no recurrence, again. Believe me I am praying for the TRUE Self, to show forth in the physical vehicle, even as it does, in Heaven (Our God-Self).

“I am very very thankful.

“I am being very faithful to the instructions that came through, for I realize that God speaks to us, in ‘ways we know and know not’! And I believe that HE is leading us all as He sees best.

“So, although this past 19 years in which my husband, myself, and our son, have seemed to have a ‘problem’, why, now that I know Life as it is, and ourselves as we truly are, why I understand that this but led us back to the Father in Heaven, the Father within. So, after all, it is well.

“It has taken courage, but I have been SURE that Jesus meant all He said when He said, ‘seek and ye shall find’. So, I just kept searching.

“I am enclosing the remittance for two weeks, being a money order for four dollars. Thus my little credit comes up now to eight, doesn’t it? Hooray. Soon, it will be paid. Next week, my reading calls for a ‘rest of one week’. Then another 28 days of packs. By that time, I will be ready for a check. BUT the whole amount must be paid, for me believe me. So, we are doing our best.

R8. 3/14/38 [1527]‘s mother’s letter to EC:

“Again thank you for your nice letter. I have been sending out a sure knowing of your true perfection, in love, and feel sure that by this your physical will have been blessed. Because, with your human self tuning in, all the time, why you are indeed sure to receive from the ONE Source.

“First of all, [1527]‘s physical is responding still. Last Thursday at around 7 A.M. I heard him breathing very hard and went in. I saw that although apparently asleep, the connection was disconnected (you will understand what I mean, I’m certain) BUT the body was not convulsed at all. This was the first spasm in three weeks, which is a record for many many months. And it was so slight, that we can be sure that the adjustment is being made.

“On wakening he had a bad headache and asked if he had had a convulsion. I said NO. And that was the truth. This satisfied his human mind that he IS getting well from the work. You will agree with me, I feel sure, in the dual work I strive to do, that the Father’s perfection may be made manifest here and NOW. You see, I believe HIS words when He said ‘in the flesh shall ye see God.’

“There was a reaping for each of us, but having found the Christ Love, the Father ‘within’, through His Grace, I believe in faith, the ‘God-Self’ can raise every dormant cell, and every imperfection.

“I know that you understand all this, because I have read a collection of papers through Mrs. [601].

“I believe just the same. Since I know, it has helped me to understand [1527]. I know that the God-Self within that human form, even as Jesus taught, is now redeeming the Adam-creations of long standing that have out-manifested in that body.

“Then, I understand that although in the flesh I am his ‘mother’, why, in the realm of SOUL, maybe I am a ‘Sister’ and maybe incarnated with the purpose of helping to redeem ‘man’ even as [1527] as a Soul, by coming into his particular body-condition - has actually helped his ‘father’ and myself to awaken to our REALITY. To, again, know the truth and say, ‘I will arise and go to the Father.’

“After my own brain-mind learned the Truth, then, it was my part to teach the human-brain-mind, of [1527]. Now he too, knows himself in his Reality - as a Son of the ONE God.

“Oh, it then becomes blessed to have suffered for it is when we have lost our human ways - in darkness - that we turn around and look for the Light.

“Love is forever, time is forever, and there is ONE ALONE Who is forever. With our faith, fast in Christ-Love - tell me what can withstand? So, I humanly have patience. Because I believe in the promises of the Beloved Wayshower. I KNOW that the Will of God can be only perfection. We at last reach understanding of the glorious Reality, which mankind will attain when their words, ‘THY Will be done’ is attained. Heaven here!

“Yet, it is only after our human consciousness has been taught over and over again, through lives and lives, that it finally awakens to its need to return. The arc of evolution. From then onward we are told, ‘he that seeks, shall find’.

“And, then, one finds the greatness, the wonder of the ONE Life, and gradually, humbly does HIS Will. Realizing that the outer possessions one thought so much, mean - nothing, and that there is only ONE purpose of being incarnated at all, and that purpose is to radiate self-LESS LOVE, in an endeavor to follow in the steps of Him Who was the example of the Love of God in human form.

“These are my thoughts, Mr. Cayce, coming from the inner consciousness I have found, all on account of seeking, not for me but for [1527]‘s help. So, for several years, while helping him and through not yet receiving the answer why I have gone on seeking and finding more and more wonders ‘within’. Giving out some through a few little written words, maybe hoping to help all, even as this - Truth, has come to us. Knowing that when the time was right the ONE God, in whom we are ALL one, would reveal the answer - that HE knew best for us on this plane. I had to learn, not to try to govern [1527]‘s life - much as the human part of me strove to, for one day God said to me, ‘I’, as [1527]‘s God, know what is best for him, even as ‘I’ know your good - leave everything to ‘ME’. So since then, I have just followed that inner Voice. HE speaks to me. You will know what I mean. Thus, I felt that He directed me, through Mr. Small, to you. But there were many lessons that had to be thoroughly learned before that happened. The Father knows. HE waited until this human-brain-mind, was sure that the work of the Kingdom was truly FIRST in my consciousness. Adam - consciousness is so subtle, and the God of each of us, is not mocked.

“Why do I talk to you thus? Maybe the Father within wants me to do so. This way - He talks through his children, one to the other.

“I will write you later this week with an enclosure again. Meantime with many blessings.

“P.S. I enclose the dream [1527] had just before the other reading you gave us.

“Several nights before Mr. Cayce gave the reading (Feb. 2nd), for [1527] - [1527] had the following DREAM.

“He DREAMED:

“That, a tall, medium coloring, man, came to his bedside, and said, ‘[1527], come along, we are going somewhere.’ That he asked, ‘Where?’, and was told, ‘It matters not where at present, come!’ That, he dressed but that the clothes and body felt more like LIGHT not at all heavy and the man also. Together, they walked down what seemed an endless passage, at length coming to a CITY - seeing a tremendously high building. The ‘guide’ said, ‘Here we enter’.

“That, entering, he was astounded to see, nothing but HALLS with huge pillars exceedingly high - one leading into another as far as his eye could reach. The floors were white marble. He seemed to ‘feel’ that he had to pass through 14 halls.

“That, they went through FIVE of these halls, and stopped and were joined by a ‘strange guide’ - more or less a companion. This one seemed very friendly but did not speak. They continued to the 8th hall, and he saw a little boy. He asked who it was and was told that he would go on ahead - that the ‘little boy’ was his own son! And he was halfway in this eighth hall, and wondered if he should go back, but decided to go on. After going through, it seemed much harder to go through the 9th and 10th hall. Looking round he noticed that the pillars were taking on a soft pink shade - very lovely.

“That, he had picked up a ‘hatchet’ in the beginning, in the 2nd hall, and that by the time he reached the 10th, it was terribly ‘heavy’.

“That, passing out of the tenth hall, three ladies met them and one in particular called to him. Here, the tall man seemed to give him the urge to throw the hatchet AT the woman and already having felt that he could not carry it, anyway, he threw it at the lovely person and lo, all three of them vanished into the air. Then, the tall man, said he could not leave the ‘hatchet’ anyway and to pick it up even though it was so heavy. This he did.

“That, up until this point the boy, the guide, and the stranger had always been ‘ahead’. At the 11th hall he caught up with them for the first time, and then noticed that the boy had ‘grown’.

“That, at the 12th hall the hatchet was a dead weight, and he had to struggle. Here the stranger said, ‘What, would you quit NOW?’

“That, at the 13th hall the boy seemed miraculously to merge into himself in some way and the stranger disappeared. Next the TALL man said, ‘Now, go in - this is now - YOUR fight,’ and to ‘go on’. Halfway across the 13th hall again he wanted to throw away the axe - but could not get rid of it.

“He went on to the 14th hall, with the axe, so heavy that it was barely possible to lift it. He wanted to look back but something said - no! Looking up, he noticed the pillars, reaching to great height were now a glorious crimson. And looking down again, he saw at the end of the hall, the standing Form - of Christ-Jesus - robed in a Crimson toga. The most LOVELY smile and Light shining from Him. Lovely soft brown hair, hands outstretched towards [1527]. Here [1527] got halfway across the hall, and fell to his knees. Yet he dragged himself to the feet of the Lord and the Lord said, ‘NOW throw away your axe!’ And yet again the Lord said, ‘Yes, throw away the axe!’

“Then, that as he threw away the ‘axe’, the LIVING Form of Christ came forward into his own form and when he looked forward again, all that he saw was just a STATUE, yet very beautiful - statue.

“And, he then felt that everything in the whole world was his. That he was full of joy and happiness beyond expression.

“And, he knew, then, that the Living Christ would always ever after be with him and that he could go back to all the world with nothing ever again to fear. Yet he did not go back - he felt that we went on and on, gaining greater happiness and strength with each step on and out of every one of the ‘halls’.”

HE speaks, to ‘me’.

In every bird, in yonder tree, Shining sun, glittering sea, In desert sand In every hand HE speaks, to me!

In storm or shine, o’er vale and hill, Morning light, dusk soft and still, Symphony grand Or friendly hand HE speaks, to me!

For God, tho’ many, is still but ONE! Each ‘outer’ form, ‘within’ - a SON! ONE Life, ALL, Great or small HE, speaks to ‘me’!

R10. 3/24/38 Mother’s letter: “Oh, Mr. Cayce, I told Dr. James of the Western Medical that I had had a Reading - and about the packs. And while he wrote me a very nice long letter it was ‘over the dam’ with him. He said the only good in it, as far as he could see was auto-suggestion!!! So, I was just sorry for him and passed up all he said. Of course I have kept on the many kinds of pills, as the Reading said. But they are a chore, for [1527], believe me. Three kinds, each day. He wishes he could quit those, himself. I have no idea what they are composed of. There is a half a grey one before breakfast and again lunch, and a big brown one after lunch and supper, then a whole grey one and two white capsules - at bedtime. So, we reckoned up how many pills [1527] had taken since last June 22nd, the date he commenced that. And it is

“Poor [1527], - What do you say?

“I have followed my own urge since we started the packs, and that was to give [1527] Halibut Liver Oil capsules, each day, being his diet lists say - ‘high-fat’ diet. Then, to keep a special track of elimination.”

R11. 4/1/38 EC’s letter to [1527]‘s mother:

“Thank you for yours of 24th. Is good to hear from you - you have an understanding that is refreshing - if you know what I mean. Am very human after all and there is so much trouble, worry, doubt, fear and all that it is no wonder HE wept when he beheld the wickedness - the unbelief in the cities about him. But to keep on keeping on in the face of it all, is strength that only comes from HIM who has overcome.

“Thank you for remittance also. Just hope it has not been a hardship on you. Will make the appointment for the check reading and try and write you a bit later. Both our boys are home for a few days, and with the work and all am kept pretty busy. One is in school yet - the other is in N.Y. for a time. He is the one that works with me.

“The appointment for check reading on [1527] will be the afternoon of the 8th, 3:30 to 4:30 EST. Yes, Mrs. […], make a list of questions to be asked. Very often we take check readings by questions alone, but hope we may have a full explanation of [1527]‘s condition as well as any questions you may wish to ask. Please let me know at once if time set is convenient and your questions.

“Thanking you again and may the blessings of the Master be with you and yours.”

“Thank you for your kind letter of April 1st. I agree with all you say. We have to have lived through many experiences before we can even hope to help others, don’t you think?

“Then, after awhile, if we have become pure enough to have touched even the ‘hem of HIS garment’ - why - ‘in HIM and with HIM’ we too yearn over all men. And, then, such suffering as we may share, to HIS Glory, becomes even precious.

“What do you care - of the world’s thoughts - of you - For, CHRIST knows your heart. HE loves you. And all those who hear HIM ALONE who are led to you, will ever pour out HIS love, THROUGH THEIR OWN HEARTS, in daily blessing to you. Yes, I’m sure, HE is saying - HE is with you right now, and right now sending you peace and joy, through this one.

“Now, about the physical plane - body of this dear SOUL - we call our son [1527].

“He has NOT had a single attack the whole of the present period. He does have a twitching of the facial muscles once in a day possibly. He is emotionally - what we term - sensitive and highly strung. He can and does seem to be very cross at times. Needs great patience, and tolerance. But knowing the Truth of the redemption each Soul is incarnated to do, I see all this in a higher light. And, try to realize that the work of CHRIST is but, being done. All this will proceed. It is the plan. But what you tried to show us the way to adjust, was the ‘reaping’ that had come forward in the PHYSICAL. I understood the ‘Reading’ perfectly. We are aware of ALL planes and the work in hand was to assist the co-ordination to be made, starting with the body-form.

“My own feeling, is that with faith during the time given in the reading, great adjustment has been made already. Not me the mother, but THE FATHER within has been able to do ‘the works’. HE ALONE and we have turned to HIM ‘within’.

“First of all, when you start the next reading, please for us, give ALL praise, and blessing to the ONE, Who is All in All. I know that we are but His channels. Without Him there is no hope. So, first of all, let us give grateful love, and praise that GOD’s Perfect Life is being established on each plane of the ‘consciousness’ of this dear Soul.

“Then, go on again, seeking to follow HIS WILL, through the means revealed.

“I asked my husband and [1527] what questions they would like to ask. [1527] says to tell you that he has left all, each day, in the hands of the Father, THROUGH you, Mr. Cayce, and that he just knows the ‘untanglement’ has taken place. So, I feel that with this release, and receptivity, the ONE Life, has made a ‘way’ for perfection to come forth.

“My husband said this A.M. that while we would dearly like to ask, WHAT SHOULD [1527] humanly follow, in the way of life work?

“Yet the ‘vehicle’ must first be put in order.

“[1527], too, would like to have a goal now. His life has been (humanly) so entangled by this fear that now the release appears - there is a wonder - what - he should consider his part. He wonders if he should now, being 20 on April 29 this month go back to schooling this fall or just what, and this is a puzzle. He did one year of High, being a very good student till then.

“Of course this is now 4 years past, and it would be hard to pick up the threads I think. Would it cause too much emotional effort, and undo this delicate structure all over? I wonder. I feel there is another plan for him. But, it needs great and careful guidance on this plane, for this SOUL, to fill its part. I feel there is more here than I humanly can grasp.

“So, see how and what you think about it. I shall be more than grateful of any INNER guidance.

“Due to care, over the years, [1527]‘s body-form is a fine one. With the adjustment made, God willing, I pray he will be a good and worthy channel for the Father.

“So, let’s see now - Will you, possibly follow through the physical adjustments. First. And knowing us so well, ask the Father’s Will regarding our further co-operation in ALL ways.

“[1527] stands by my side and says, ‘give Mr. Cayce my best love, mother and tell him I would love to know what my goal here should be.’ He also says he has the faith and belief that the work is completed and also that the minute he can, he would love to quit the ‘pills and tablets, etc.’ (he detests them all).

“So, this is quite an order isn’t it?

“Whatever comes we shall be as faithful as ever. And HOW we have been! Believe me, we have. I looked up all the portions of the physical body on a chart and have applied the oil, etc., etc., and HEAT and so on each day - never failing and then LEAVING it to the Father.

“So, now, we will be with you, absolutely, in the ONE - open to give - as we would receive for the blessing of all men on the same plane of consciousness - that ALL may be lifted.

“The afternoon of April 8th, 3:30 to 4:30 EST.

“Blessing you and yours, too, in His Love.”

B1. 12/26/37 [1527]‘s mother’s letter to EC: “I have recently received your name and address from Mr. J. Francis Small, of 229 Fourth Ave., New York City.

“He mentions that you have helped thousands of people through giving spiritual readings with regard to HEALING.

“While I believe, and he also, that if one has FAITH and ‘understanding’, one can be healed without outside assistance, by the power of the Indwelling Christ consciousness. Yet, Mr. Cayce, there are still a lot of loopholes left in regard for cases who repel help, and maybe resist all attempts to instill FAITH.

“I understand karma - Yet, I realize the LOVE of Christ, to surpass karma, even. Such a Love consciousness, with yourself, may be your own guiding Light. The key - with which you unlock some of the tightly closed doors - in consciousness, that I feel alone hold people from the perfection that is everymans’ heritage as a Son or daughter of the ONE perfect Life.

“I have been led to find, and know the Truth, through a problem. The problem concerns a very dear son I have, who is now 19 years old. At varying periods of his life, from a tiny baby on, he has seemed to take convulsive attacks. There have been years with none - some with. Since 14 to now untold ‘outer’ help with NO help. It is all a long story. I do know that in his REALITY he is a perfect being. During the past few months, there has been a great gain and I am able to talk Truth - to a degree. Yet there still seems a force there, that repels all Love, and it is not a little bit easy.

“I seem unable to give him my own faith. There is a feeling of being up against a brick wall. I wonder, if he as a soul

• could have a deeper purpose in all this. For, we HAVE found the path, thru it. If HE himself has a work to do, later. Or, if he NEEDS help.

“He was born, in England, April 29th - at around ten minutes to five A.M., 1918. Is in some respects very advanced mentally - others such as math, etc - behind. Too jittery for the past few years to finish high school - consequently his life plans are standing still. Is psychic, but NOT encouraged, and never has been. Fine physique. But has fallen badly and once in the bathroom burned across the back by the radiator. A year ago, wakened in the night and ‘fought invisible people’ - hit thru a mirror and hurt a hand badly - went into psychopathic hospital. Came out after tests - PERFECT mentally according to doctors!!! Yet - what? During this past year, I have tried to KNOW the Truth, that ONLY ONE Power exists in Reality for him. And he has gained wonderfully. Today he has had a perfectly normal Xmas and seems fine. But is highly nervous today and very cross. Or SEEMS so!

“Of course, I realize this all only applies to his ‘vehicles’. I realize that he is a spiritual entity - redeeming - race states of consciousness. That we all are, in REALITY.

“But, on the human plane, it can be most difficult. And so, because my love would speed up the redemption, in his case, maybe. Well, I am writing you, truthfully about the case.

“Somewhere, and somehow, I feel there is an answer that has not come to me and maybe that was why your name came to me, in the way it did. I wonder, do you have the RIGHT answer.

“I do not feel that medical help is the answer for everything he ever had wears out, or off, either way, after awhile. The seat of whatever it is, is in the astral or mental body, I feel. In the emotional body, that is my feeling.

“If I have been over explicit, forgive me. For I do not know, in what way you help people. I felt that some data was necessary.

“Mr. Small mentioned that he met you personally, also heard you lecture, and that while he himself left all to the guidance of the Indwelling Christ, through faith - Yet knowing the help you rendered, he had the urge to give me your address.

“I would be more than glad to hear from you regarding your work and to have your opinion of my son, from my letter. His name is […]. We call him […] or […].

B2. 1/8/38 Letter from [1527]‘s mother to EC: “Around 6 A.M. while apparently still ASLEEP [1527] had a quite tough convulsive attack. And so you will KNOW that as soon as I can do so, I shall surely come to you for this assistance

• from the invisible (to us humanly speaking) planes.

“He is now 19 and this has been a condition since 15 months old, when while ASLEEP too - the first occurred. He is at present and has been helped a lot through the Western Medical Corp medicines in Chicago. This has to date been the greatest help of all channels. Therefore I must keep right along until I reach your hand, when of course, all else would need to be left alone completely. I would then trust your channel alone.

“Not only that, I AM more than interested in the research work too. My search for help for him has led me into a bigger conception of the meaning of Life, and I know that man has not touched the ‘wonders of God’. I WANT TO HELP, too.”
