Commission Basis) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of March, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1551], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Dr. Henry Hardwicke.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, Mrs. [1551].

  2. (You know, it would be very well for the body to change the odors about the room from almond to lavender, and it would be much better.)

  3. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the better normal physical reactions.

  4. While as we find these have not as yet assumed a great deal of disturbance physically, the reactions to the mental and nerve forces of the body do disturb - and without some precautions or corrections may gradually grow into greater disturbing conditions.

  5. (This is a very lovely, very attractive body in many ways.)

  6. As we find, in times back there has been some irritation produced in or with the pelvic organs that has brought about the fold or scar tissue.

  7. This, then, makes for pressures upon the nervous system, upsetting the body in varied ways; as will be seen, and especially through the reactions of the nervous system as related to the EMOTIONAL body.

  8. For as the effects of the pressure are upon the glandular forces through which there is the passing of the activity of the psychic influences, these disturbances become oft as much psychic as physical.

  9. Yet as we find physical conditions are existent, or corrections need to be made to bring in the physical system the more perfect channel through which there may be the activity of the physical and mental and spiritual reactions of this body.

  10. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1551] we are speaking of:

  11. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this indicates there is a very good reaction in the assimilating system. Yet the very nature or character of the pulsation indicates the pressure which has been in the nervous system, causing often too great a flow of the lymph through portions of the system.

  12. Hence the body at times becomes easily depressed; and these conditions would be as much from a wholly physical reaction - such as too little sleep, too much exertion - as from the expressions or activities in relation to individuals.

  13. Yet the physical reaction produces a tiring upon the system, and quite a bit of disturbance at periods. For as this becomes a portion of the disturbance, these would gradually grow unless corrections were made.

  14. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, as we find, as has been indicated, while it is a physical reaction arising from a physical conditions, the pressure upon the sympathetic nervous system brings about rather a disturbance in the nerve forces - or these become the sources of irritation through the physical condition existent as has been indicated.

  15. THEN, AS TO THE ACTIVITY UPON THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, WE FIND, these may become more and more accentuated, or they may become localized, unless disturbances are checked.

  16. But in the present they are affected in such natures that the body, through the psychic pressure, becomes aware of the activity of involuntary nerve reaction. As may be indicated: Periods arise when the body realizes it is LISTENING for it knows not what! There are times when there appears to be speech or voice or noise or movement of which the body is not WHOLLY aware, but of which it is merely conscious.

  17. These become disconcerting to the mental reactions of the body. Again the body feels or imagines conditions in relationships to individuals it may only be passing, or may be in company with, without there being even a word said or even a look given.

  18. All of these are accentuations, as is seen, of the activity of the sensory reactions through which awareness is conveyed to the consciousness of the physical body.

  19. These arise rather then from the location and the character of the specific disturbance which has been indicated.

  20. AS WE FIND, THEN, IN MAKING CORRECTIONS FOR THE PHYSICAL FORCES, and which will - as indicated - react upon the mental as well as the psychic or the soul forces of the body:

  21. First begin with - and have - three to eight good GENERAL NEUROPATHIC adjustments, such as may be had from Miller; THOROUGH, over the GENERAL system, with SPECIFIC adjustments in the lumbar and in the sacral portions of the cerebrospinal system.

  22. These as we find would best be had every other day until six are taken, you see.

  23. Then take a treatment from the use of the Violet Ray, using the small vaginal applicator. Take ONE treatment for three minutes, you see; not too strong in the beginning. Take this by self; not given by another - take it self! Do not take this too close, of course, to the menstrual period - let it be at least a week from the Period, see?

  24. Rest then from the treatments for five to eight days. Then take six more adjustments, NEUROPATHICALLY; that is following the nerves along the cerebrospinal system; coordinating those from the 3rd and 4th cervical, the 3rd and 5th dorsal, the 9th dorsal, 12th dorsal, and as indicated the more specific in the lumbar and sacral portion of the body - SIX more of these.

  25. Then have one more application, the next day, of the Violet Ray vaginal treatment.

  26. Use then AFTER the Period an Atomidine douche; the proportions being a teaspoonful of the commercial strength Atomidine to a quart and a half of water for the douche.

  27. Then the next Periods have another treatment or adjustment after same.

  28. And we should find near normal forces for this body.

  29. Ready for questions.

  30. We are through with this Reading.
