This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of June, 1938, in accordance with request made by the son-in-law, Mr. [1561], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. Hugh Lynn Cayce.

Time of Reading 4:40 to 4:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

2. We do not find the changes for the better. We do not find all of those applications suggested have been administered. We do not find that in the present all of these are preferable to be used, considering the attitudes gradually brought about.

3. Change the vibrations, through which the Gold Solution is carried, to the Radio-Active Appliance. This as we find, from the reactions that have been created, would be much the more preferable in the present.

4. We need, as we find, the toxic forces eliminated more FROM the system. These will become problems at times, but it is more preferable that oil - Usoline AND Olive Oil - be given if possible; and then enemas used.

5. Keep the general massage with oils along the cerebrospinal system.

6. These as we find offer the better OPPORTUNITIES for the proper reaction in the present.

8. (Q) In using the Radio-Active Appliance, should the Gold be continued with it? (A) The Gold should be continued.

9. (Q) Over the same areas as indicated before? (A) Attach the first one to the extremity (wrist; wrist; ankle; wrist; ankle; wrist); the other last - carrying the Solution - over the same area indicated for the other - that is, over the frontal area - the umbilicus and lacteal duct; which is, on this body, a hand’s breadth - from navel.

10. (Q) Regarding constipation, may enemas occasionally be given? (A) As just indicated, use enemas; taking Usoline as well as the Olive Oil. This does not mean large quantities of the oil, but small quantities often would be preferable - if it is possible to have the body take same. Keeping it up, by giving a little bit often, will be much better than attempting to give spoonsful at a time.

11. (Q) Why does she fight against the vibratory treatment and massage? (A) The natural reactions of the body in having the close association or affinity with the body. This is a natural reaction from mental incoordination also. Combine these and we have the existent condition.

It is not well to force same, but continue to induce by conversation as well as activity.

12. (Q) What about the twitching of her leg? (A) This as we find is more the pressure from poisons, and with eliminations set up should be much improved.

13. (Q) The Battery B current at zero on both dials seems to be quite uncomfortable. Does or will this hurt the body? (A) As indicated, under the existent conditions and with the vibrations, let’s leave this off; and use the Radio-Active Appliance. This will change the vibrations of the body, and by the mere suggestions as it is being given will aid.

14. (Q) How may we overcome her resistance to this treatment? (A) As indicated, it can only be done by the conversation - the gentle, gentle, gentle activity towards reasoning with the body; which apparently is reasoning against no reason. Yet ONCE taken, these we find will change a great deal.

15. (Q) Do the results of her resistance, yelling and crying, raise her blood pressure or cause reactions offsetting benefits of treatment? (A) They have. Hence, as we have indicated, we will change the rate of the vibratory forces and work them with the body-influence or body-vibrations themselves - through the Radio-Active!

Make suggestions more and more; and if it becomes necessary, HYPNOTIZE the body.

R1. 7/8/38 Mr. [1561]‘s letter:

There seems SOME physical improvement; some WEE emotional improvement, but no improvement in “speech.”

Treatments were resumed June 19th ‘38 after several visits by Dr. Garrett [Thomas L. Garrett, psychologist]. She has not resisted the vibratory treatment but DOES resist the massage (crying and yelling!).

We KNOW that there are NO limitations to healings and to restorations via the Great Physician, but the writer wonders whether he is sufficiently purified and qualified to ask aright, and wonders, too, whether he has the RIGHT to ask that a glorious soul be further held in bondage in her house of clay, if, perchance, her work be finished in this vale of tears & we, unwittingly, withhold her from her Father’s Work in realms Ethereal!
