This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of August, 1938, in accordance with request made by the son-in-law, Mr. [1561], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the present physical condition of this body, with suggestions for further corrective measures; and special reference to throat condition, constipation, and paralysis of leg; answering the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes.

3. Now as we find with this body, [1553] - in some respects there are improvements in the general conditions. In others there is apparently still the lack of coordination through the general activity of the physical forces of the body.

4. If it is practical - and it may be made the more so by the general suggestions made to the body in the periods of the suggestive therapeutics that are being given the body occasionally - we would add these:

5. Use the Russian White Oil as an assistant in eliminations.

6. Have a GENERAL massage using an equal combination of Olive Oil AND Compound Tincture of Benzoin, over those portions of the limb and along the spine. This will not only aid in quieting the body but the absorption of these properties will stimulate the better circulatory forces, with the suggestive forces as to the activity of the flow of circulation in the system - and thus quieting the nerves, stimulating the ganglia. And especially make this stimulation, through the massage, in the areas of the upper dorsal and across the lumbar and sacral, as well as the limbs - or those centers from which impulses for nerve and blood supply are received for circulatory forces to the limbs.

7. These as we find, with the general conditions that have been indicated, are the better for this body in the present.

10. (Q) What causes the throat condition? (A) This as we find is still an impediment through the lack of the proper vibratory forces as may be received from the coordination of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems; and an inclination for the body-mind to “cloister” as it were, influences. Thus the need for the suggestive therapeutics and the low ELECTRICAL vibrations for the body.

11. (Q) Is it possible that this body is possessed by an unclean or evil spirit which causes peculiar crying and expression of rage at times? (A) As has been indicated, there is the inclination for the inner self to GATHER the influences of same. Not a case of complete possession, but ENTERTAINING of such influences at times.

Hence the electrical forces will aid, with the suggestions, in eliminating these IMPRESSIONS - or POSSESSIONS of the mental attitudes.

Do these, and keep these active - ALL - for the system.

1. What if any improvement do you see?
2. Is the nervous system improved?
3. Is coordination of emotional and physical improving?
4. What may be done to keep blood pressure down. It frequently rises to 240.
5. Shall powdered milk be continued?
6. Chronic constipation persists. Oils do not relieve. Very frequent enemas and laxatives are required which she fights. Any suggestions?
7. Dr. Garrett (mental suggestions) has not been to see Mrs. [1553] since July 21st. Would she have improved more rapidly had he carried on?
8. Dr. Garrett has been away and therefore unable to visit Mrs. [1553]. Should his attendance be resumed upon his return?
9. She still cries and yells with massage. How many minutes should massage be given to back? How many minutes to limbs?
10. What about electric battery treatment? Any change suggested?
