This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of April, 1938, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [2175], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. Mac Wilkins.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 10:35 to 10:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes.

  2. Now as we find, in the development of the ASSIMILATING forces as related to this body-activity, there is too great a quantity of the rich caseins in the mother’s milk. This as we find is gradually upsetting the system, so that there is not the assimilating nor the activities which should be for the body.

  3. We would give, then, that there be a change in the manner of feeding; and we would use the Carnation Milk - for the better development.

  4. Unless there is a great deal of change, we do not find that it would be well for the mother to attempt to nurse the body even AFTER the conditions are eliminated.

  5. The formula would be that indicated for the age and the conditions which exist.

  6. To prevent regurgitation, we would prepare:

Lime Water…1/2 ounce, Cinnamon Water…1/2 ounce, 10% Solution Iodide of Potassium…3 drops, 10% solution Bromide of Potassium…5 drops.

The dosage of this would be three drops in half a teaspoonful of water, but would ONLY be given if there is the belching and the vomiting of the milk formula given. Do not let this preparation become too old (that is, the Lime Water, Cinnamon Water, etc.); after ten days have another quantity made. This would be kept to be given ONLY as it is necessary to prevent regurgitation.

  1. After the formula of the milk has been given, then if there is the vomiting there may be another quantity or half quantity of the milk given in a few minutes - or after ten to fifteen minutes, see? The formula may be repeated every three hours, as would be indicated.

  2. It is well to keep the body gently massaged after the bath with a little sweet oil, and camphorated oil, combined half and half. Massage especially along the spine, see?

  3. There should be used the dusting powder that carries the Balsam, as the irritations are tending to make for an acidity which to the very young - as this - is very irritating and aggravating.

  4. Use Fletcher’s Castoria AS the sweetening influence for eliminations, see? Very small doses, as indicated for the age. This is to keep the color as well as the regulation of the eliminations, see?

  5. These as we find will be the better for this body.

  6. Do that.

  7. Ready for questions.

  8. (Q) Is the medicine alright that she is being given, and should it be continued? (A) These properties as we find had best be discontinued.

  9. (Q) Should the lactic acid or lime water be used in the Carnation Milk formula? (A) The lactic acid.

  10. (Q) Where can the correct formula be obtained? (A) This will be given by the preparers of the Carnation Milk. They maintain a research in these directions.

  11. (Q) Why does this trouble now show up, instead of the first two or three weeks? (A) The variation in the manner of the effect to the digestive forces of the body. And then that which has been administered has been too strong.

  12. (Q) Any other advice? (A) If it becomes necessary, through irritation, then it would be well to give occasionally a drop or two drops of Glyco-Thymoline - to prevent colitic reaction or inflammation.

  13. We are through for the present.
