Protestant) This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 16th day of November, 1929, in accordance with request made by Mr. [165].

1. GC: You will have before you Pharmaceutical Preparations, Health Room Equipment, Incorporated, and the help it and our Association may derive from Mrs. [2502] of … Street, …, Michigan, or her son or young Burress.

2. EC: Yes, we have the conditions as at present present themselves regarding preparations, health room, and individuals as they themselves or through the association with those of the Association may benefit, or good may arise from such association or connection. Much may be given. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) What can Mrs. [2502] or her son or young Burress do to be of help in matters of Health Room equipment or the Association or the Hospital? (A) This depends a great deal upon the personal application of the Forces with which the individuals endowed. Mrs. [2502] may be of assistance to individuals in hospital, or may aid in experimentation and application of those that may be interested in health room. In the abilities of her son, these had best be used in other directions for the good of the Association or Health Room, as would Burress.

4. (Q) How can we test Mrs. [2502]‘s helpfulness? [As metaphysical assistant?] (A) Usefulness, would be better. In the operation of various elements as respecting the health room equipment much aid may be had from her ABILITIES, would the application of the FORCES manifested be applied only. These should be tested more thoroughly individually. Then better attitude may be had by the individual for helpfulness and usefulness.

5. (Q) Should she come to Virginia Beach? (A) Very good way in which to test the application of forces manifesting through that body, and in personal application TO an one may the better status quota be gained.

6. (Q) What difficulties might arise from her association with us? (A) These may be better judged by the personal application. Difficulties would arise only in directions in which the body-PHYSICAL, rather than the body-mental, applied itself. [2/26/30 EC gave her Life Reading 2502-1.]

7. (Q) What direction should Mrs. [2502]‘s son’s efforts best take? (A) In electrical applications, but not relating to health or body.

8. (Q) Is it intended that pharmaceutical preparations should be handled as a subsidiary of, or by a committee of Health Room Equipment, Incorporated, or by a separate company from among certain ones of that group? (A) Better that they be kept separate, but consist of those OF the group interested in the DEVELOPMENT of same, for these should be rather more personal and more of the efforts of the Association, than of that in Health Room Equipment.

9. (Q) Should [4719] be one? (A) Be WELL. Trustworthy, capable, efficient.

10. (Q) Edgar Cayce? (A) Very good.

11. (Q) [257]? (A) Well.

12. (Q) [900]? (A) Good.

13. (Q) [137]? (A) Good.

15. (Q) [165]? (A) Good.

16. (Q) Any other that should be in? (A) Others may, or ANY others - for it may be made a corporation that may even sell stock for exploration or development purposes.

17. (Q) What holdings should the Association have? (A) That should be agreed upon by those forming such group.

18. (Q) Who should the executives be? (A) Those most capable to know OF the explorations and most vitally interested IN development. These should be chosen among their OWN number.

19. (Q) Should the following be produced and marketed? Ipsab? [For bleeding gums, etc.] [Pyorrhea] (A) As has been given, MILES may be given as regarding this. It SHOULD, and should have been done LONG ago!

20. (Q) Tim? [For Hemorrhoids] (A) Well.

21. (Q) Inhalant? (A) This another, for all of these mean much to many individuals. They have for themselves specific condition to meet specific needs in the conditions that distress the human family.

22. (Q) Carbon Ash dry? (A) This also has its place, and these should be given to humanity NEEDING such.

23. (Q) Carbon Ash Salve? (A) This is already being attempted in another place, but not the proper combinations - for destructive forces enter with the application used, as deodorizer.

24. (Q) Arthritis relief? (A) This may also be given.

25. (Q) Hair food? (A) This good also.

26. (Q) Appendix relief? (A) Not in that name, but for that CONDITION as CALLED that.

27. (Q) Under what name? (A) Relief for intestinal disorders, though would be under a name when combined together.

28. (Q) Any others? (A) Many others.

29. (Q) To whose possession should the formulas be limited? (A) To those producing same.

30. (Q) What general trade name should be used? (A) That should be determined by those FORMING and making possible the delivery of same for the use of suffering humanity.

31. (Q) Should Cayce name be used? (A) No.

32. (Q) What general distributing company can be persuaded to handle the products? (A) First, WE would give, PREPARE the products and HAVE same distributed in a manner compatible with that of the means of the distributing company! THEN these may be persuaded to be handled, either in different districts - and eventually a general distribution agency.

33. (Q) Should [4719] [pharmacist] make the first batches? (A) Very good, and capable.

34. (Q) What reaction is there on having office and first Health Room at … Street, New York City? (A) VERY good.

35. (Q) Is [4995]‘s plan for this Health Room a good one? (A) Very GOOD, but calls for expenditure of much considering the allowances set for same, and would entail more TIME than SHOULD be required to have the Health Room even paying!

36. (Q) Is compromise plan a good one at a lower cost? (A) Much better.

37. (Q) Should we distinguish between preventative and curative Health Rooms or combine them? (A) Distinguish between them, by all means! For one may be made for home and school room and recreation centers, the other for hospital or detention homes.

38. (Q) Where will our next Health Room be established? (A) Wherever they choose to!

39. (Q) Should our Association Club House be equipped as a Health House? [Work:EC] (A) SHOULD!

40. (Q) Would Egyptian design be applicable? (A) VERY good.

41. (Q) In a country wide health room use, will best plan be to interest local capital or finance from headquarters? (A) Interest local capital. This, as seen, offers advantages and disadvantages, for it will - with interesting local capital - necessitate the training of individuals for the handling of same for the various points, but this should BE one of the efforts of the main office, TO educate AND equip such individuals for such work. Just as in other lines this is done. THIS, then, would enable the health room equipment to be quickly distributed, and on an economic basis, much sooner even a PAYING basis, aiding (Don’t lose sight of that) AIDING individuals in the prevention of distresses, see?

42. (Q) In use of mercury quartz lamps, shall we make our own under license or purchase from Burdick or some other source? (A) The Burdick the best so far. This would be better in the beginning, and later when the funds more available, or more funds available, the own licensed lamp may be developed. 43. (Q) Would an advertising Health Room pamphlet be advisable in securing patrons for our Health Room? (A) Very good. This ONE of the branches - one of the main branches.

44. (Q) What is proper temperature for prevention health room? (A) Dependent upon that being PREVENTED, see?

45. (Q) What is best color for health room walls? (A) Between green and blue.

46. (Q) Any further advice or information regarding any of these? (A) As has been given, much may be said. Best that these be WORKED, or questioned as conditions develop. We are through for the present.

The following is a copy of the “Pharmaceutical Preparations” in which [165] sent [4719]:

“PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATIONS”

It is decided that active work be started at once in the manufacturing and distribution of our remedies. This should at the beginning embrace seven items as follow.

(1) - IPSAB - For Pyorrhea (2) - TIM - For Piles (3) - INHALITE - For Colds (4) - RADIAC - Activated Carbon Tonic (5) - THRITISOL - Relief for Arthritis (6) - RINDIS - Relief for Intestinal Disorders (7) - MAY BLOSSOM BITTERS - Relief for certain type of Epilepsy

A suggested name for the Corporation is Health Service Laboratories. A suggested stock holding is as follows:

Edgar Cayce…10% [257]…10% [195]…10% [137]…10% [900]…10% [4719]…10% [165]…10% National Association…30%

Mr. [4719] who has been a manufacturing chemist as well as a pharmacist is directed to manufacture the first batches of these items, with the exception of RADIAC which the writer will produce.

The estimated budget for the preparation of labels, necessary literature, material for preliminary quantities, etc., is $1500.00. It will be necessary to raise this amount before production can be started, and it is desirable to start promptly. Matters of incorporation can follow closely and more inexpensively Health Room Equipment Incorporated. The writer is willing if it is desired, to undertake the diligent persual of the steps necessary to get the wheels in motion. Without question, the sales problem will be handled by Mr. [257], and this has been discussed personally with him in great detail.

All of the above is largely in the nature of suggestions, but immediate response is desired from each one who wishes to critize any of the statements made, so that we can get to a basis of common agreement.

R5. 12/5/29 Letter to the members of the Pharmaceutical Group:

“A preliminary meeting of what we are temporarily calling Health Service Laboratory, Inc. was held at Virginia Beach on December 1st, 1929. Present at this meeting were Messrs. [137], [900], Edgar Cayce and [165]. A meeting had previously been held between Messrs. [257] and [165]. The result of these meetings is as follows:

A Corporation called Health Service Laboratory, Incorporated, or some similiar name, is to be formed in New York. The formulas of the Pharmaceutical preparations suggested in readings, which were formerly the property of the National Association of Investigators [ANI], but thru action of the Board had been given to Edgar Cayce personally, are to be turned in by Edgar Cayce in exchange for 50% of the stock in the new corporation. Messrs. [137], [900], [257], [195] and [165] are each to pay into the treasury $500.00 and for same are each to receive 10% of the stock of the corporation. Mr. Cayce is to give a same share to Mr. [4719], himself to hold a similiar share and the balance of his holdings will be given to the National Association of Investigators [ANI]. The corporation papers will be made out in similiar manner to those of the Health Room Equipment, Incorporated - incorporation being made for 2,000 shares of stock - 1,000 being issued and divided as follow: [137] 100 shares, [900] 100 shares, [257] 100 shares, [195] 100 shares, [165] 100 shares, Edgar Cayce 100 shares, [4719] 100 shares, National Association of Investigators 300 shares. [ANI]

Officers chosen at the above meeting: [165], President; [257], Secretary; [137], Treasurer; [900], Vice-President; Edgar Cayce, Chairman of Board of Directors. The office of the new corporation will be in conjunction with that of the Health Room Equipment, Incorporated at [ … ] Street, New York City.

[900] has taken on himself the labor of putting thru the Incorporation. Mr. Cayce and Mr. [4719] are taking on themselves the duty of compounding preliminary batches of each of the items to be made. [165] is making a survey of containers, labels, art work, literature, display goods, etc. that will be of assistance in determining the packaging and appearance of our products; you will receive further letters in time relating to these matters.

From a reading taken on November 16th the following information was secured: [See 165-17, Par. 8-A thru 33-A.]”

R7. 7/17/31 Letter from David E. Kahn indicated that Dr. Harold J. Reilly [Ph. T.] was interested in working with the Health Room Laboratories.

R8. 12/5/29 Mr. [165]‘s memo to Mrs. [1381], Sec’ty:

[HEALTH ROOM EQUIPMENT, INC.]

We are proceeding to prepare a Portfolio on the subject of “Bedroom Engineering”. This will discuss the past, the present, and the probable future of the various physical arrangements and equipment relating to Sleeping Rooms. Some of the various subjects taken up will be: Size of Rooms; Ventilation; Natural and Artificial Light; Sleeping Equipment; A study of the Phenomenon of Sleep; A study of the reports on Sleep as put out by manufacturing concerns, Universities, Institutions, etc. etc. All working toward our Engineering service, which we can render in connection with such rooms.

Up to this time Rooms of this sort have and had little thought, except to make them comfortable as to temperature and appearance. Our object shall be to devise such Rooms from the standpoint of their purpose - which has never before been done - namely - TO SECURE FOR THE INHABITANTS A SUFFICIENT QUANTITY OF RESTFUL SLEEP.

This Portfolio will be of inestimable value to individuals; to architects; to hospitals; to sanitariums; etc., and should result - not only in a demand for our service as engineers, but also for equipment - some of which possibly is now on the market, but much of which will be newly developed items - made according to the specifications necessary to meet the requirements of our particular and different problems.

This Portfolio will be one of a series - relating to Health Rooms of different types. In order that it may fix itself in our mind in it’s proper relation to the entire problem - a list is given of the different types of Health Rooms, each of which requires a special study, but none of them will be of more importance to a large number of people than that relating to Bedrooms - or Sleeping Rooms.

1st. Preventative Health Rooms. (Such as we are now establishing at [ … ] New York City.)

2nd. Curative Health Rooms. (This will cover a multitude of types for use in the home, hospitals, sanitariums, etc. Probably a curative room - designed for each of the prominent types of diseases or ailments.)

3rd. Sleeping Rooms.

4th. Nurseries.

5th. Sun Rooms.

In addition to the above reports - a series of problems and their answers, which will be applicable to, and usable for, the improvement of general living conditions. We refer to such items as: Ventilation - produced without draft; Lamps - suitable for reading without injury to the eye sight; Sterilization of equipment of many varieties; Wall coloring - reflecting healthful and absorbing harmful vibrating rays; Clothing - permitting healthful rays to penetrate; Etc.; Etc.

R9. 2/5/30 Letter to EC: Dear Mr. Cayce:

Under separate cover, I am sending you a bottle with stopper which can be used for inhalent.

I wish you would please examine this, test it out carefully and criticize it.

You will note that with both tiny corks removed the inhaling process is very simple, owing to the air inlet.

It would not be intended to ship the inhalent with this device already in the bottle, although that could be done.

R10. 2/13/30 EC’s letter: “I received the container for the inhalent. Speaking offhand, I think it is just the idea. I remember, however, that the information has always been that this should be in a glass stoppered bottle. Whether it will work with the rubber or not, I do not know. This can best be determined by the chemist, no doubt - or through the information itself.”

R11. 2/28/30 Letter from [165]: Dear Judge:

I am in receipt of enclosed letter from Mr. [4719] which I am not even answering as I do not care to get into the discussion. [As to his resignation from VB drug firm making up prescriptions for Cayce Hospital, etc.]

In connection with Pharmaceutical Preparations, I believe if you would give me complete information on one at a time I could produce here and send you samples for your Okeh more easily than it could be done at Virginia Beach.

Why not proceed with the inhalent on that basis as a demonstration of this? I am anxious to get the thing under motion.

I expect to be East again the week of March 10th and if there is to be an important meeting in Virginia Beach I could probably be there either the 9th or the 16th.

Matters have come up so that I could not spend more than one day there at this time.

R12. 4/4/30 Mr. [900] phoned that Mr. [165] was ill with pneumonia.

R13. 4/8/30 EC wrote Mr. [165]: “Certainly very much disappointed that I didn’t have the opportunity to see you in New York. I’m sorry to know that illness prevented your being there today a week ago. We had quite a few matters to talk over, and unless we can keep this rather balanced, it soon becomes too much of a one-man proposition. It’s not good for anything that is to be of the MOST good to the public. We also had some matters about the university, as well as the Health Room and Pharmaceutical end. I am hoping that as soon as you are able you will let me know where and when we can get together on these. We will have a batch of the preparations made up within the next two or three weeks, so that we can begin to consider the manner in which the distribution is to be gone about. Certainly sorry you are ill - believe it is yourself - and hope you will soon be quite well again. I came home from New York to find my father very ill with pneumonia. I’m sure you can appreciate what a hardship such a condition is to a man of his age and physical condition. So far he seems to be getting along very nicely, I think the crisis was passed yesterday. He is quite weak, but we hope to be able to pull him through in pretty good shape.

R14. 4/18/30 EC’s ltr. under 1734-3 report mentions Atomidine and Health Service Laboratories.

R15. 4/23/30 Mr. [137] wrote EC: “I was, indeed, sorry not to have at least had the opportunity of seeing you over the week-end. Of course, you know the conditions were such that it was impossible.

I surely hope that by now things are well regulated with you, and that you are again feeling yourself.

It seems there is always some problem facing us, and now it is the Health Room. As you know, there has been considerable outlay of funds for the Health Room. Apparently it has been started in the wrong direction, and there are two choices left to pursue. One is to close up altogether and throw up the sponge, the other is to carry out more nearly the original purpose, and like all these things, it seems to revolve around you, for to carry out the purpose of scientific development of various machines, it was originally intended to carry out the instructions of the readings.

Of course, [3952] has been handicapped by lack of any readings. In my opinion, if this form of scientific research is to continue or progress, the engineer in charge will have to be certain of two readings a month. Since this is in line with scientific research and a stride toward developments which will make the readings more worthwhile, it means undoubtedly that you will have to curtail that much more from the readings given outside of the hospital. You realize that, if through the readings the engineers are successful in creating one lamp that is non-existent today, more good can come of it than can be imagined. My personal feeling, (and I am sure yours, as a director of the Health Room), is that this work should preceed, as a limitless field, and can do untold good, but naturally, the information must be forthcoming. I should think that it would be well if you would arrange to have these two readings a month devoted to the Health Room.

I am enclosing a list of questions sent to me by [3952]:

1. If we continue Health Room developments, as suggested by readings last year, to what curative device or substance shall our efforts be directed?

2. Shall we continue such developments with the idea of marketing the results for a profit?

3. How can Harris function best in the near future?

4. Shall experimental work be done in New York?

5. An affiliation with Dr. Sternes of N. Y. C. [Guy Beckley Stearns, M.D.] was suggested but his services are not available. Can another doctor be suggested?

6. Will violet or ultra-violet rays, reflected from a surface coated with aluminum paint or other compounds, be changed in therapeutic value?

7. Should impinging rays be in the ultra-violet or in the X-ray field for changing therapeutic characteristics?

8. General outline and advice for procedure.

Please don’t feel that I am pressing you for readings, but it is absolutely necessary, either for the existence or non-existence, of this corporation?

Will you please have Dr. Lydic find out exactly what discount he can get on the Walpan X-Ray. I am informed that 10% can be gotten, and if he can do that well, it might just as well be ordered from Norfolk.

Things here are just about as hectic as usual, but I believe we are all making progress in our efforts.”

R16. 4/25/30 EC gave 165-19 on Health Room Equipment, Inc.

R17. 4/28/30 EC’s ltr. to Mr. [137]: “I have yours of the 23rd. Certainly was sorry that I didn’t get to see you over the week end that you were here. I’ve been so very busy, until it looks like I haven’t had the opportunity to do scarcely anything during this last week. I finally got myself kind of in shape and worked through the better part of last week; in fact I believe every day until Saturday. Got started again today and we were able to get up the checks on the hospital, which included ten. The Health Room reading, as you know, we attended to just as soon as we could slip it in. We have found it necessary to TELL everyone, as they are making application for membership, that it does not insure them of getting an immediate reading. Where the application for membership is made wholly or solely to get the reading immediately, we have had to tell them that it couldn’t be done - for we know that we have to give more time to the hospital and to the various branches of the work of the Association, WHEN these various departments are at work. So, it is necessary that we get just as MANY of the ones who have been WAITING for months and months FOR their information out of the way, or - if not out of the way - those who have been patient, we want to try to serve first - and we are trying to make just as FEW appointments as possible, until we DO get all of these - and it’s a long list, to say NOTHING of the Life Readings - and IF we are going to CONSIDER EDUCATIONAL needs, the Life Readings are POSSIBLY the most educational of all.

I hope the information regarding the Health Room has been helpful, and will enable those so vitally interested to get it straightened out. If I UNDERSTAND the information, it was gone at POSSIBLY in the wrong way.

I spoke to Dr. Lydic about the Wappler X-ray. He told me he thought he could get that same price here. However, that he would let me know in a few days, as the man was to see him in a few days. I will let you know what he has said, or he may write you direct - that is, Dr. Lydic.

Yes, I think we are making progress. Things are hectic in many ways, but only so if we allow them to be in our own minds - for I believe one of the things that is being taught by [900], and possibly by the readings, that THINGS ARE externally what we allow them to reflect within our own selves - so it becomes only hectic when we ourselves become same.

The work is progressing very fine on the building - that is, the nurses’ home, and I think they are doing some work on the university buildings. I haven’t seen Dr. [204] to talk with him since [900] was here. I only saw him then for a minute. He’s busy and so am I, and there’s another payment about due

• in fact, by the time you get it, I’m thinking there will be TWO due - which will be 2500 on the nurses' home. This, of course, is ALL that we would have to put out in cash at present, until the settlement is made for the loan. That is, another 1500 was due when the roof was on, and it’s been on for several days - and another $1000 was due when these were to be plastered. That they will begin by tomorrow or next day. The contractors haven’t asked for it, but I would like to be able to have it for them when they do ask for it - if it’s convenient to send it at this time.

Everything is going along very nicely here, as far as I know. We have a good many at the hospital. Dr. Lydic told me Saturday that he was treating from twenty-two to twenty-four patients there now - eighteen or twenty in the hospital.

Well, let us hear from you. Certainly hope that all the folks are getting along alright.

R18. 2/1/31 Mr. [165] wrote EC: “I am pleased beyond words that you and yours, as well as [257] and [903] are keeping a collected and well poised attitude in our present time of stress. [Closing of Cayce Hospital, etc.?] I use the word poised in a double sense. Well balanced - but also ready to collect forces and quickly and quietly make such moves as experiences and inner forces indicate. I think we are finally facing success. Personally, I have progressed in learning to command myself. The situation cannot be forced. Much of mutual benefit could be reached by correspondence. But I am hoping for a long personal interview with you, with [257].”

R19. 2/10/31 EC’s letter: “We all enjoyed very much your letter of the 1st. I am glad to know that you have been able to view the situation under which we have all passed in an unbiased way, that at least you haven’t been so close to it that you have lost yourself in the shadow of impending dangers. For you to feel that we are even in part keeping cool is certainly very gratifying. I suppose, as someone has said, patience overcomes wrong even as clothes overcome cold. As it gets cold we put on more clothes and the cold doesn’t hurt. When we feel we are treated wrong, apply more patience until it doesn’t hurt - even as was given, give until it hurts and then give until it doesn’t hurt. It means the same thing.

I hope the day is not far distant when we can talk things over, and see if that out of the wreck there is anything worth salvaging - whether it be people, things, conditions, ideas, or ideals.”

R20. 5/8/31 Hugh Lynn Cayce’s letter to Mr. [165]: [In re Work:EC.]

“Letters to you are always a pleasure and this one especially gives me just a little thrill that none of the others will. We all speak of you very often and wonder how you are getting along. We have missed that occasional visit. Perhaps conditions in the future will bring us closer together. Time will do many things.

As you know we have been trying to follow the readings in taking preliminary steps to forming the new organization which will carry on the work which has only in part been temporarily interrupted. Many who are interested have expressed their ideas and meetings have been held here and in New York to discuss various plans. You may already know through [257] of the organization meeting which will be held here on June 6, about three in the afternoon at our home. At this meeting we hope to select a business manager and a board of advisors or trustees. Lawyers are now working on the corporation papers. They will be present to lend assistance in taking the legal steps necessary. No doubt this board will then appoint a committee to work with the lawyers in drawing up the by-laws and regulations.

There will no doubt arise in many individuals minds the question of the financial responsibility of this board. Now the readings have indicated that this work can be set up on a basis that will make it self supporting. It is our aim and purpose to move slowly and carefully, beginning in a small way and building this on a solid foundation avoid the natural conflict that arose over having the purse in the hands of a few. The work can and will pay for itself as it goes. It will be the function of this board to guide and direct the policies and the functioning of this new organization in such a way and manner that it may give the most to humanity.

We feel that we need you, that your understanding fits you to be a valuable member of this board if you so desire. The readings were very definite on the point that each individual should feel a real intensity of interest and have a sincere desire to actively assist in forming this new organization. R22. 7/21/31 Mr. [165]‘s letter to EC: “Have just learned from [257] the present status of affairs with you. You are doubtless getting organized in your new residence and I am of the opinion that the location is better than the old place. That does not of course offset the moving and the broken agreements and all of the other things, but it may work out as it should.

[257]‘s statement that a movement is on foot to get back the hospital is most pleasing to me. I hope it can be done. You need the hospital and it is only justice that you have it.

Glad the new organization is under way. I believe it can be made to work out if only the selfish ones can be eliminated. And it looks as if the results of selfishness were not success whatever else they may be.

My heart is with you in your difficulties as well as in your successes. I am possibly not in complete accord with some of the ideas as expressed by some of the individuals, but that cannot lesson my interest in you and your welfare and in the outworking of your plans for doing good in this world that needs such things so much. Sorry that my own affairs are so tangled, but they will get straight again so I can be helpful in one way or another.

R23. 7/31/31 EC’s letter to Mr. [165] in re “folding” of ANI and beginning of new A.R.E.:

“Your letter of the 21st was certainly appreciated, and the spirit in which it was written. Yes, I feel very sure that all in all it is best that things have turned even as they have; for we know, as of old, when things go wrong sin lieth at the door. Such conditions often make us all stop and take account of ourselves, to see just where we are. I hope that those who have the interest of those who contributed to the work of the old Association will use that right and justice is done. No doubt I was in error in the move I made at one time, [At the ANI Board meeting in Sept. 1930, making the motion and swaying other members of Board to turn back property to the two who had made greater contributions for five years.] but as the records show my PURPOSE was - as their promise was - that those who were IN the hospital, and those who were seeking aid through its offices, would NOT be denied that privilege, as they were later on.

The new organization is gradually getting under way. I know the great trouble with myself, as well as every individual associated with me, is selfishness - and we must not let this creep in. The Board, I think, is a very representative one, and I hope that as soon as your affairs will permit we may have the benefit of your experience and abilities on that Board. My whole heart’s desire is to do good, and if this may be done I wish to carry on. If it isn’t that way, then it has no place in the affairs of men. Of course there are varied opinions as to just what IS the best method of presenting the good that may be gained, but I hope that we will all lay our OWN selfish interests aside and consider rather that we are the channels through which a higher, a more glorious power may manifest, if we will keep the channel pure and clean. With that idea in view, I feel we can all work together; for if we will do our part, I’m sure He will do His. It is either HIS work, or it’s something trumped up of man’s own making and can’t succeed if it is; but if it is HIS work, it will give the increase where it is necessary, and I know He will not make the temptations for any of us greater than we can bear.
