GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1747]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions have changed considerably in the body from those we last had here. While there are changes, not all are for the better. For there has been a taxation of the body, and cold or congestion has existed that is causing anxiety, owing to how tired the body becomes and not gaining resistance and rest from or because of the cough and irritations through the body.
-
Do not take more of the Adiron. This in the changed formula is not as good as in the original Codiron. For two elements have been entirely eliminated and these others are not combined well.
-
Do have the sweats occasionally, not too often.
-
Do take the osteopathic treatment occasionally. If there is one taken twice or three times a month, it will give general relaxation. Do this especially through the winter months.
-
Do take the combinations found in KalDak. For here we have a formula that will add strength and vitality to the body. Take this before going to work of morning. Dissolve a level teaspoonful in a little hot water, then fill the glass with milk and drink - after the morning meal has been eaten. When returning from work in the evening, take another level teaspoonful in the same manner. This will control the eliminations better, and it will make for the ability of the body when taking the sweats to perspire more normally. This will keep down those tendencies for cold or for taking cold.
-
Do keep up the sea foods - not too much of them.
-
Do refrain from eating too many peanuts with candy. Peanut butter will be found to be better, for this has those combinations that would be better for the body, but do not take it too often - for this only adds elements that are supplied in KalDak especially that active principle for working with the liver in its activity of secretion and of supplying elements for better assimilation.
-
Do these and we will have better conditions for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What should be done for the cough? (A) Do these things indicated, especially taking the adjustments - and make the adjustments as needed in the 3rd and 4th dorsal, coordinating of course, the 3rd cervical and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical with the corrections along the spine. These should be relaxing and not stimulating treatments. These should get rid of the cough, in combination with the changing of the tonic to KalDak.
-
(Q) Is Vapo-patch good for this body? (A) Vapor Baths would be good, not the patch.
-
(Q) Do the short waves make for the betterment of this body? (A) We wouldn’t take these in the present. This leaves too many of the pores open.
-
(Q) Is the work I do too strenuous, and if so what sort of work would be recommended? (A) As we find, the body can carry on better as a resistance is builded up in these changes that have been indicated for the body. Do that.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/44 Miss [1747] referred [3427] for a Physical Rdg.
R2. 3/3/44 Letter regarding Mrs. [3050]‘s appointment: “As for myself, I am planning on coming to Virginia Beach in June and I hope to stay a while for a rest. I know if it weren’t for the suggestion which you gave me in the Physical Reading I wouldn’t be able to keep going that long. A great many of the girls where I work are not being able to take it.”
R3. 3/7/44 EC’s letter to [1747]:
Dear Miss [1747]:
Your letter of March 3rd has been received.
Everything is in an awful mess around here. I took a few days off the first of February, so that is why Mrs. [3050] didn’t hear anything about her appointment on the 2nd of February.
I came back and only worked a day or two and since then have been sick, which you know according to the readings, means mighty sinful.
I do hope that you are planning to be at the Congress this year. I don’t know just how many days, but we are reserving the whole week from the 18th to 25th of June, so be sure and plan to be here. You know we wouldn’t have the right kind of meeting without you here.
I hope I will be able to take care of your appointments in May. We haven’t started to make appointments for 1945 yet, but I guess we will have to if we take care of all the applications on hand. I am sure it will run over into 1945 before we are through.
If it suits you, it will be fine and might be much better if you would have your rest before the time of the Congress. What do you think? We will look for you around the 8th or 10th of June if it suits you.
Thank you a lot, and remember us to all of those that would care of [to?] hear from us. With a lot of love from us all, I remain
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC/gm
R4. 3/13/44 She submitted questions for Life Readings for her nieces and nephew: “All that I want is something with which their lives may be enriched and made lovely.” [See [5134], [2847], [5153].]
R5. 11/4/44 Miss [1747] wrote from Cloverdale, Virginia:
“Mr. Cayce is very slowly improving. Although he gets very discouraged at his progress. But he is at last taken an interest in reading, beginning to enjoy his bath, the foot and hand swelling is gone down a little. Sleeping better…
Tell Gladys and Mae I think they are making a big mistake by lowering the rate for the monthly Bulletin and Weekly letter and both Mr. and Mrs. Cayce feels the same and if I were them I would continue with the program as set up or turn it over to the Norfolk group to run and see if they could pay expense of the program as now outlined.
I am kept quite busy all day so I just get a chance now and then to write…” Sincerely
R6. 12/14/44 Miss [1747] wrote from Youngstown, Ohio:
Dear Cayce Family: We arrived home last night at nine o’clock… Tell Miss Brown [Della Brown] I am banking on her to get him [Mr. Cayce] on his feet. Take care of yourselves and Mr. Cayce, Sincerely
R7. 12/27/44 Miss [1747] came back to Virginia Beach to help Gertrude Cayce, Annie Cayce, Della Brown and Gladis Davis Turner nurse Mr. Cayce during the last two weeks. Miss [1747] was in attendance with Gladys Davis Turner at 5:50 P.M. on January 3rd when Dr. Woodhouse said that nothing more could be done. [See 294-212, Par. R34, 4/25/78 for GDT note for A.R.E. Staff Bulletin.]
R8. 4/14/52 Report on 1747-6:
4th physical reading;
I had a bad cough and pains through my chest and I was beginning to worry if I had tuberculosis. Had done most everything to rid myself of the cough but it kept hanging on.
I took the baths and treatments, and the Kal-Dak until I was better. But it was very hard for me to take the Kal-Dak.
This rdg. was followed just as outlined.
Verbal report: I could take the Codiron with wonderful results, but I had a most difficult time taking the Kal-Dak. I am still trying to take the Kal-Dak (which makes me nauseated) from time to time. My pattern now is to outline a general cleansing treatment, based on all the readings I was given - and from time to time (dependent upon what I feel I need) I follow through with a series of treatments. I have also taken the Castor Oil Packs (using the 3 days - series) so that I would better understand how it would feel to others. Since I only took the one series I can only report that I found it most pleasant. I slept and relaxed as a result of taking the treatment. As of the present date, I have more vitality than I can ever remembering having. I don’t have to push myself now as I used to, but I still take care not to overtax my physical body. I am aware that the tendency toward the original weaknesses is still with me, and according to this, I guard against getting back into the condition which first prompted me to seek a reading.
R9. 12/9/63 GD’s note: Miss [1747] has remained active and in good health all these years, spending her time doing practical nursing for those not so fortunate as to be free of physical suffering.
