This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of July, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1749], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 4:40 to 4:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, New Jersey.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
Now as we find, the improvements - not only by the applicaions, the corrections that are being made - are not only most satisfactory but the activities in the open are most EXCELLENT for the body.
-
WE would not change any of those applications that are being made, save IN the corrections in the lumbar and sacral area should be made from the side rather than from the body lying prone, see?
-
And we would use the white light AS an aid in creating the proper connection or associations with the centers along the cerebrospinal system, as relate to the principal nerve centers of the body. Do not give these too often, but at least give them once and sometimes twice a week, or one week once, the next week twice. This would be the more preferable manner.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Will the ear need any special form of treatment? (A) If the general treatment that has been indicated is followed, and as being administered (these are very well done!), we would find the improvements.
Do that.
- (Q) Will the hemorrhoidal condition need any special form of treatment? (A) Do as has been indicated for ALL of these! It would be well for an exercise to be taken for this.
Rising on the toes gradually, raising the arms at the same time, bend forward as far as possible. This done night and morning will aid in RAISING the system sufficiently to eliminate a great deal of the pressure in those areas.
- We are through for the present.

R1. 7/14/39 [1749]‘s letter to EC:
…, N.J.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
It has been over a week since you gave me the reading and here I am just now writing to thank you.
I saw Dr. Taylor today and he is so pleased at my progress. I can already feel it myself - and I am so filled with gratitude that I hardly know how to express it. Dr. Taylor is going to be a good friend as well as a fine doctor. Although Mrs. [1602] told me that he was interested in spiritual things I had no idea when I began to go to him, of the extent of his knowledge along these lines. Of course, you know.
Mr. Cayce, for all this I am indebted to you and it certainly is going to give me, literally a new life in more ways than one.
I want you to know how very very grateful I am to you for GIVING me this last reading, especially when I know how busy you are. Probably many people have said this to you before - but I am going to say it anyway, that I recognize you as one of the few rare souls whom I have met in this lifetime who is really leading consecrated life. If you only knew what this means to those of us who are not so far along. It is the greatest influence in the world.
I will write to you again before long and hope to see you in August when you are up here.
My best wishes for your welfare and for the continuance of your wonderful work.
Sincerely [1749]
R2. 7/17/39 EC’s letter to [1749]:
Dear Miss [1749]
Thank you for yours of the 14th. Am just as happy as you that you are feeling so much better, may the good work keep up, yes Dr. Taylor is a very remarkable man, and that he is one of the few one meets that has an appreciation of spiritual values, makes him all the more remarkable.
It is very kind and sweet of you to speak so lovely of me. But I am nothing but as the spirit of helpfulness may work through me, as said to you some time ago - was most anxious that you have results - and have prayed long that you might have the real help that would be worth while. Have you seen anything of Miss [283]? She is visiting in your vicinity somewhere - she it was I believe who referred you to me, hope you will see her and tell her how you are pleased with results thus far.
Thanking you again, and may the LOVE that passeth understanding be yours always
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R3. 7/20/39 She requested a Physical Reading for her Mother, Mrs. [1973].
R4. 8/4/39 [1749]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you for your letter and for the Reading for Mother [1973]. It was wonderfully clear and helpful and we are going right on with the directions.
Miss [283] has been here for a day or so. It was nice to see her and I am so grateful to her because she was the one who first told me about you and your healing work.
I have been attending Dr. Taylor’s group in Pompton Plaines - such a nice group of people.
Next Wednesday, August 9th Dr. Taylor and I are driving down into Pennsylvania to see some friends interested in psychic work. Will you be coming up soon after that? I hope so.
I am sure that you do need a rest and change. Do hope you will plan to take quite a little while off.
Will let you know about Mother’s progress. I am sure it will be rapid. I am feeling continuously better, and really feel that I can NEVER be grateful enough for it all. As ever
Faithfully yours [1749]
P.S. Looking forward to serving you in August sometime. It will be such pleasure.
R5. 8/16/39 EC’s letter to [1749]:
Dear Miss [1749]:
Find yours of the 4th here on my return from a visit to Thousand Islands and Mrs. [1602]‘s. Had a very lovely visit got in a lot of fishing, had to come back here before accepting Dr. Taylor’s invitation to visit there and find that request have come so thick and fast can’t make that trip this time - regret this very much. But belong to others and must answer the call as best can. So will not get to see you at this time - had hoped to get to see Miss [283] also as have felt very much drawn to her for a long time, and have certainly enjoyed the few letters that have had from her. Please remember me very kindly to her if she is still there or when you write again.
Glad you are still on the improve - also that your Mother shows signs of help all the praise to HIM.
Thanking you for everything and hoping to see you this fall if have the pleasure of getting to N.Y.
With sincere regards and good wishes
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R6. 9/17/39 [1749]‘s letter to EC:
N.Y. City
Dear Mr. Cayce:
This is just a very hasty note - as I am getting back to work again here in the city.
I want to tell you briefly, that Dr. Taylor plans to be in N.Y. one afternoon a week to give treatments. (He will write you about it, I am sure). I think this plan is partly to help me out, and naturally, I do not want it to be done unless it is entirely worth while for him. I feel sure that he will have other patients as I am only too eager to tell others in the city about him. Perhaps, if you would drop a line to Mrs. [1602], she would do what she could also.
I am still of the opinion that there is no recommendation too high for Dr. Taylor. He is (first and foremost) interested in HEALING the patient and all other considerations are secondary. As you probably know, he is a pretty clear and pure channel himself, through which the higher forces can operate. I have taken several patients to him this summer and he has, without exception helped everyone marvelously. His kindness, understanding, common sense, as well as his higher spiritual insight make him an “ALL ROUND” person in every way.
I have just been checked on the white light machine and Dr. Taylor tells me now that I am a “clear channel” as all inflammation in the body has gone, as well as any psychic disturbance. He wants me to continue treatment, however, for quite awhile. Mother [1973] is improving also.
For which I do give God the thanks and praise. My best to you as always - Looking forward to seeing you this Fall.
Faithfully yours [1749]
R7. 9/19/39 EC’s letter to [1749]:
Dear Miss [1749]:
Thank you for yours of the 17th. Glad to know you are feeling like going back to work at this time - also that your Mother is on the improve.
Am sure it will be very fine if Dr. Taylor can give a day in the City each week, fine for a number of people, we all think a great deal of Dr. Taylor as a man as well as his ability with the disturbed in physical - mental ways, and will be very glad to help out in anyway possible.
Mrs. [1602] happens to be at the Beach at present will speak to her while she is here am sure she will be glad to lend any aid she can.
Thanking you for the opportunity to suggest - his and for many here and there hoping this finds you just feeling fine.
With all good wishes
Sincerely Edgar Cayce
R8. 10/4/39 Mrs. [1602]‘s letter EC: ”…[1749] just phoned me - she is one of our many grateful followers - and said she is just fine now but is going to continue the light treatments for a while yet - but she asked me to tell you that she thinks Dr. Taylor is just the most perfect interpreter of the readings she could ever have found, as well as being spiritually motivated in his healing work. She wanted you to know that he helped two friends of hers all summer without any charge, because they were unfortunately in a bad financial way. This she appreciated deeply and thinks you will too. Then, she wants me to tell you that he will arrange to come into N.Y. each Wed. afternoon just to continue her treatments but she suggests, if ever the readings call for treatments such as he gives, he can be counted on to follow them implicitly and in her opinion, he is the best operator of the light machines.”
R9. 10/13/39 Miss [1749] referred Mrs. [2329] for Readings.
