This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of October, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1787], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading …, Street, 10:50 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes.

  3. Now as we find, conditions are very much improved from that as we have had here before.

  4. There needs to be the continuation, occasionally, of the whole general applications as have been suggested.

  5. To be sure, in reference to the shortness of breath, the easily tiring at times, - this arises from what may be termed as scar tissue in the tubes in the throat, bronchi and larynx areas. And it might be compared much to a tube in which air is pushed through, that had lost its resonance.

  6. And these, of course, will require time, patience, and persistence in application for the beneficial conditions.

  7. To be sure, the change of climate would make material difference; but this would require that there be a long stay, or possibly the continuous remaining in such as Arizona or a dry climate that is of a different altitude.

  8. But as we find, if there is the use of the inhalant as we have indicated, that may act as a cleanser or a purifier, - and then the exercises where there is the use of the breathing exercises, - this condition may be materially aided.

  9. As to whether there would be the FULL retaining again of the resonance for the activity, would depend upon how LONG and how consistent or persistent the body would be with diets, activities, the exercises, AND the properties that would clarify or cleanse the system.

  10. For this particular condition, we would prepare an inhalant in this way and manner:

  11. To 4 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol, add - in the order named:

Oil of Eucalyptus…40 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…30 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…10 minims, Tolu in Solution…20 minims.

This solution should be put into at least a 6 to 8 ounce bottle (preferably dark glass), with sufficiently large mouth that two vents may be put in the cork to be used when inhaling. Neither of the tubes entering the bottle should extend into the solution, but into the space above same; so that the fumes may be breathed into the throat, bronchi and tubes. One of the little tubes would be longer than the other, through which the fumes would be breathed, while the other wold be used as the air passage. When ready to inhale, remove both the small corks (after shaking the solution well), and inhale two or three times. This acts as a purifier; and would be inhaled especially just after the exercises, night and morning. Inhale just the fumes that would arise from shaking the solution, you see, - and not to be used as a spray nor as a gargle.

  1. The breathing exercises night and morning would be taken in this manner:

  2. Stand before a open window, or where there is good, fresh air. Use the arms, the upper portion of the body, the head, the neck exercises; taking two or three movements in each activity; rising on the feet with the arms gently stretched above the head, breathing in deep through the nostrils, and breathing out through the mouth, in each of these activities; circling the head and neck; and some bending exercise of the body.

  3. In the diets, - keep away from too much of sweets, save the natural sweets; as honey, fruits or of such natures. All characters of fruits may be taken in abundance.

  4. All characters of nuts are well, especially filberts, pecans and almonds - not so much of black walnuts or English walnuts, but the other characters indicated.

  5. Plenty of vegetables and of the leafy nature. In meats, - no hog meat ever, unless it be a little very crisp bacon at times.

  6. Be consistent with these, - necessitating, of course, that at times there be the general manipulations, as well as the other inhalant that we have suggested to cleanse or purify the lungs, - and we will find we may aid in bringing better forces for this body.

  7. We are through with this Reading.
