This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of September, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [195].

Time of Reading 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard. Dayton, Ohio.

1. GC: You will have before you the Radio-Active Applicator as was prepared [See 538-12] for Mrs. [538]. You will answer the questions regarding same, as I ask them of you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the applicator as was prepared for Mrs. [538], and similar batteries that may be made for the use of the ills of the human family, for, as we see, these will lend assistance to the human family in many ways and manners, creating an equilibrium necessary in the physical body for it, the body, to function more normal in every manner. Also those specific conditions wherein it becomes necessary to add to the human system those vibrations of metals or of other ingredients, that the system (human system) may be made to function more normal, through the assistance received from the vibrations of other ingredients that are applicable to the needs of the human body, for with any condition that becomes abnormal in the human body, it, the condition, is the lack of an equilibrium produced by the lack of that necessary to produce that vibration in that portion of the organism of the human body that becomes distressed or dis-eased, see?

4. (Q) What is the percent of carbon steel in this battery? (A) Fifty-seven and five-eights percent (57 & 5/8%).

5. (Q) Would it be necessary in preparing these for the rubber container to have holes in it at all? Would this work as well without holes as with holes? (A) Work as well without holes as with holes - only necessary that the applicator be longer in the solution, so that the cold may act on the steel and produce the vibration necessary, see?

6. (Q) What should be the thickness of the charcoal gasket, between the walls of the rubber container and the steel? (A) From quarter to three-quarter (1/4 to 3/4) around same, see? That is, in the position or formation of steel, unless made half round would make a condition wherein that on edges would be thinner than on sides, see? Of course steel could be prepared in a manner, when they are placed together with the glass between them, that the whole, with the steel or the gasket, would be quarter to three-quarters (1/4 to 3/4) around. Just so it does not become bunglesome, see? Would make a more symmetrical article were the steel prepared in that manner.

The thickness of the glass, we see, we would use the single strength glass, see? This does not matter, but two pieces should be used, see? the single strength - sixteenth to an eighth of an inch (16th to 1/8th inch) thick, see? each piece.

7. That is all the questions.

8. There may be much said regarding these applicators. The charcoal should be in bottom and in top, same as on sides, see? that we may have the well set up, or the prevention from any contact with outside forces as would apply to steel to prevent short circuiting, see? Charcoal should be pounded or ground and placed in container, to be sure, see? Where holes are made in same, it would act, of course, more quickly, yet not necessary, for within fifteen-to twenty minutes, when the applicator is placed on ice, we would find the battery giving off that charge necessary to create the equilibrium in the human body, giving that form of rest or recuperation as is found in sleep. Hence this is best be applied to assist through same - sleep, see?

My dear Edgar -

Received your reading on Mrs. [538]‘s battery [1800-10] and was glad to learn that the carbon content was 58%. That is as I thought - though one of the agents of the steel Co stated otherwise. The readings [1800-4—10] are full enough for me to proceed with my ordering mould for rubber container as I have the correct size after making allowance for charcoals gasket. In the reading just sent [1800-10] a mention is made of rounding steel so that the corners will not be closer to the ice. Have not drawn up diagram of battery but as the battery will be rectangular and not round

• also the battery box being rectangular. I think the steel will in all cases have same thickness of charcoal between it and the ice and can not understand just what reading referred to unless it was surmised the container would be square or round.

I found that my battery [195] was not doing so well and on examination discovered that the contact points - where terminals meet the body - were tarnished. I cleaned these up and battery is once more efficient. If I can get a supply of batteries ahead - (the new ones) I will send one to Mrs. [538] as the one she has is clumsy and wire is too stiff.

The reading on the man [[551] for his mother [4307]] in New York arrived - can make up any battery now as I have all information - am looking for a source of nickel wire that I will have to use. Can not make the rubber containers as yet for it takes quite some time to make up the moulds - but the old style battery will do the work and the connection for the other vibrations can be made without much delay. It is rather a funny element arising in the readings on this battery - you will recall that one reading stated that battery would not work hung out window in the snow - but it will work enclosed in a watertight, rubber case - suspended in ice and ice water.

Am going down town this P.M. and look for nickel wire and try and run out to rubber factory and get prices on moulds. Will get things started and soon we can give immediate delivery to anyone’s wants.

Let me know what date you secure on any of Pan Pete’s [instruments?].
