-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
Now as we find, conditions are not so well with this body as when we last had same.
-
There have been, through indiscretions in diets and some of the activities, those disturbances set up in the digestive and assimilating system which prevent the better eliminations.
-
And the accumulations of the poisons through the system are beginning to make greater stress and strain on the nervous system as well as to form disturbances which cause the tendons and muscles and nerves to become acute to the condition.
-
As we find, these would be the manners in the present to meet these disturbances:
-
While the osteopathic adjustments have been well (and these we would continue), we would have about two treatments one week, one the next week, two the next, and one the next. These would be better, as we find, with the other administrations as would be well to aid in bringing the better conditions for the body.
-
Now, these should be with particular reference to better drainages through the lower intestinal tract; with drainages also (secondary) from the head and neck.
-
During those weeks when not having the two treatments, take an Epsom Salts Bath. Put at least five to six pounds of Epsom Salts in a tub of water, a little above body-temperature, and gradually add hot water until there is a tub full - or twenty-five to thirty to fifty gallons of water; with the Epsom Salts dissolved thoroughly in same.
-
After such an Epsom Bath there should be a thorough rubdown or massage with Pine Oil, followed with an alcohol rub so as to prevent the taking of Cold.
-
Such a Bath, then, would only come every other week, you see. Take about three of these, discontinue for three weeks, and then take two or three more.
-
Let the body remain in the Epsom Bath at least twenty to thirty minutes, with the body completely covered, - except the head, of course.
-
Doing these, we will prevent the temperature, and relieve the tension through the system.
-
Also twice a day we would take five drops of Glyco-Thymoline in water, as an intestinal antiseptic, - and continue until the odor of same may be detected through the stool.
-
If there is the inclination for the formation of gas after the meal, then take a quarter to half a teaspoonful of Alcaroid, first dissolved in a small quantity of water and then a full glass of water added.
-
Be mindful that the diets do not contain too much of starches, nor fats.
-
Have plenty of vegetables, plenty of fruits, and plenty of cereals; though do not have citrus fruits AND cereals at the same meal.
-
Do these, and - being consistent - we will find we should bring better forces for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What CAUSES the temperature? (A) The infectious forces from toxic conditions in the system, as indicated.
-
(Q) Stiffness in joints? (A) As just indicated, the settlings in portions of the bodily forces, - in the muscles and tendons.
-
(Q) Has the condition of heart been impaired or changed in any way? (A) Do these as we have indicated, and we will bring better conditions?
-
(Q) Should body still continue with violet ray? (A) Violet ray would be very good, but not QUITE so often.
-
(Q) What has caused return of bad headaches? (A) As indicated, the toxic forces!
-
(Q) What diet? (A) The diet has been indicated.
-
We are through with this Reading.

R1. 10/4/39 [1807]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce.
Thank you very much for my reading. I am looking forward to its results and I shall follow the instructions consistently.
About the Pine Oil. There are two kinds which I can get and I wish you would tell me just which to use. There is an oil of “Pine” which is a light weight oil and then there is an “Oil of Pine Needles” which is a heavy sticky sort of oil. I spoke to Dr. Dobbins about it and he suggested I write you as he was not familiar with that treatment. If you have any particular kind in mind will you tell me where I can get it or shall I get either one of these I have mentioned?
I should appreciate an immediate reply as I should like to use it at the end of the week following the Epsom Salt bath you recommended.
Thank you for your courtesy and I shall let you know my progress a bit later.
Very Truly Mrs. [1807]
R2. 10/5/39 EC’s letter to [1807]:
Mrs. [1807] …, N.J.
Dear [1807]
Yours of the 4th - regards the Oil for the rub. The plain pine oil is the one to use. The Oil of Pine needles is too heavy. It is or has been given to use with some dilution in some of the rubs, but am sure yours is the Light Weight oil. Often it is just put into the bath, here you are told to use it as a rub. Should this prove too severe for you mix it with Olive oil.
Certainly hope you will soon be feeling a great deal better - and am sure you will be.
Thanking you and hoping you will let me hear how you come along with the treatments. With all good wishes
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R3. 2/13/40 HLC’s letter to [1807]:
Mrs. [1807] …, N.J.
Dear Mrs. [1807]
We are endeavoring to bring our files up to date. So, we would appreciate your cooperation in letting us have a report on your Physical Readings. I hope that you will make this report as thorough as possible, and will not confine yourself to the space allowed on the enclosed report blank. We are especially anxious to know in just what specific ways the Readings analyzed your condition correctly, and just what results you have obtained in following the suggestions given.
I know that you will be interested in the Program of Expansion which we are under taking, that will make possible a complete indexing of all the Readings such as your own which are now in our files. We have one of the most important collections of psychic data in existence, and it deserves scientific and business-like presentation. I feel that every individual whose Readings are a part of these records will want to have a part in this expansion, - not only for personal reasons but as a contribution to the field of psychic research in this country.
We shall deeply appreciate your interest and cooperation.
Sincerely, Hugh Lynn Cayce, Manager [hlc:gd]

INDIVIDUAL CASE REPORT
Date of Reading Jan. 31, Mar 25, June 8, June 26, & Sept. 27, 1939. Case No. 1807-1 thru 5. (PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS CAREFULLY)
(1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Not entirely.
(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? I believe so - I do not understand this question perfectly as it is phrased so cannot explain intelligently.
(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition? Fundamentally the same with a few variations Dr. Dobbins feels that a great deal of my stomach distress is due to a sagging of the stomach which was not given in the reading - I am wearing a corrective corset which has helped a great deal. He also feels it is less strain on the heart condition which I have had for quite some time.
(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? Yes, except in cases where there has been unexpected illness like grippe etc. to interfere with routine treatments and suggestions by doctor and at home.
(5) For how long? Since first reading Jan 31, 1939 -
(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? At the time of my first reading I had had no relief for one moment from a bad headache for 3 years. Now I have relief for certain periods and for lengthy periods if the treatments can be very regular.
(7) Comment. However, at this time which is 1 year and [continued below]
Date April 13, 1940 Signed [1807], …, Conn.
(Use reverse side if necessary)
2 months from the time of my first reading, I am not feeling a great deal better and at the present am suffering greatly with my original symptoms of head, neck, and pains throughout with little strength and extremely tense condition which interferes greatly with my sleeping and relaxing. The digestive condition is greatly improved but I feel I should have shown greater improvement than I have shown up to this time.
I am sorry to have to report this as I had hoped to be greatly on the mend by now and of course whether there have been any new developments in recent months, in the body, I do not know but at the time of the first reading it was suggested that great improvement would show itself in a few months time. I have great faith in Mr. Cayce but am disappointed at the results of my readings and it has been so lengthy and am still ailing considerably - I have made every effort to follow instructions exactly and Dr. Dobbins has followed his, to my knowledge, according to instructions. I have been pleased with his work and attention to the case. I had hoped to be in N.Y. to hear Mr. Cayce but shall not be able to. I have recently moved to a new address which you will find below my name on the other side so in the future address me there. I wish you great success in your Program of Expansion and would be very happy to be able to give a good report if it were possible - What would you suggest?
Sincerely,
R5. 8/10/42 Dr. Dobbins’ letter to EC:
Camp Edwards Massachusetts Dear Mr. Cayce:
Am enclosing check for $5 for the new book. I shall be so pleased to have it and I can assure you it will be one of my most treasured possessions. I would appreciate it very much if you could send me the address of Mrs. [1807], ALSO HER FATHER. They are originally from East Orange, N.J. and were recommended by Mr. [257]. She owes me quite a large sum of money and has moved from …, Conn. and left no forwarding address.
Sincerely yours, [signed] Frank P. Dobbins
R6. 8/13/42 EC’s letter to Dr. Dobbins:
Dear Dr. Dobbins;-
Thanks for yours of the 10th, and for all your good wishes. Enclose the address of Mrs. [1807] as we have it.
We have been quite busy this summer. Felt very much pleased to have had recognition of the work by the Hospital in Macon, Mo. Dr. Still, he feels they have gotten good from the suggestions there.
Yes. Believe you will like the book. It isn’t a pretty story. It’s good and of the kind of good I hope will be helpful to others. I wish no fame or fortune only that I may by HIS WILL be of a greater service to others if possible. Know we will be criticized and possibly have a lot of fun poked at us, but that we may expect am sure.
Hope you will have no trouble getting your bill from Mrs. [1807]. The father is capable of paying so have been told. Have never met any of them.
Thanks again - will send book to home address - should I not??
With every good wish
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
