1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. Now as we find, there are a great many changes in the physical forces of this body since last we had same here. Some have been for improvements, and some tend to arouse the effect of the poisons from the body itself to still produce temperature through the system.

4. Thus the allowing of the blood stream to remain in an inactive force weakens the body, and the resistances of same.

5. As we find, still there would be advised the use of the hot and cold applications each day until there is no more temperature, - but now applied more particularly over the areas from the lower part of the cervical to the dorsal and lower lumbar areas. Of course, the packs would be first very hot, then very cold; and these left on - each one - about ten minutes; and kept up each day until at least six or eight of each have been applied. Then afterwards (each day) we would have a gentle rubdown with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil, for the absorption of this would be advised for the superficial circulation.

6. Also - but not more than once a week - we would use the Ultra-Violet Ray, - this broken, however, with the green light - or the heavy green glass between the Ultra-Violet AND the body. This as we find would tend to make for purifications of the blood stream by the reaction of light thus broken on same. This should be used for a minute or a minute and a half, and - or course - thirty-eight to forty-two (38” to 42”) from the body; while the green glass should be about eighteen inches (18”) from the body - in between the body AND the Ultra-Violet, see?

7. We would also use the enemas for the reduction of temperature as well as better purifying the system; but these should be carefully administered, - not too often but sufficiently often to keep the alimentary canal and especially the colon cleansed. Use a mild alkalin antiseptic in the water injected. As we find, the Glyco-Thymoline is the more preferable; the proportions being a tablespoonful to a quart and a half of water.

8. These as we find offer the better conditions for this body in the present, - [1826].

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) What is the source of the poisons that cause the temperature? (A) Those infectious forces through the organs of the alimentary canal.

11. (Q) What causes pains in upper part of the right thigh? (A) The pressures upon the nerve forces through the poisons from the colon area. This is a reflex disturbance, and not a source of trouble.

Do these, as indicated, for the better conditions.

R3. 12/18/39 Husband’s letter:

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I recall in the last letter you wrote me you emphasized that you would be glad to do anything you could to render further service in connection with Mrs. [1826]‘s illness.

Several times during the past week she has asked, “Do you think that Mr. Cayce would give a check reading for me?”

I would appreciate, therefore, if you would manifest interest to this extent.

I think that probably some new development might bring forth advice that would be helpful.

Mrs. [1826] has been critically ill ever since the original reading was given and in fact, she has grown worse rather than better, and I am frank to state that treatments by the medical profession have not achieved good results.

[1826] and myself would both appreciate early manifested interest by you.

Her present address is, and will be The Vaughan Memorial Hospital, Corner Alabama and Union Streets, Selma, Ala.

I am mentioning this as it is not necessary to wire or write fixing the time of the appointment. That will be entirely at your convenience and option, but I hope it can be at once.
