-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, the use of such a pain destroyer as the Cobra Venom here would be the more satisfactory way to keep ease for the body, - than so much of the narcotics.
-
The Cobra Venom will deaden the pain more than the narcotic, without producing such a great strain upon the activities of the functioning system.
-
Of course, this would necessarily be administered by one capable of doing so, - and watching closely the reactions from same the first two or three times. Then the maximum or minimum dose will be according to the reactions to the body.
-
These, as we find, offer in the present the better manner or means of bringing ease to the body.
-
We are through with this Reading.

R1. 12/22/39 EC’s ltr. to […]:
Dear Mr. […]:
Thank you for yours of the 18th - mighty sorry to hear nothing has helped Miss [1826], seems the arms of man are all too short when it comes to the sufferings of our loved ones, and we all seem to come to that old saw “if God loves us why does he allow us to suffer so” and we are ready to doubt any thing and every thing when it comes to such. But HE is our strength in time of trouble, He alone has the words of eternal life - where all suffering is over - pardon me please didn’t mean to speak so, but know how your heart and mind must be burdened at this time, would there was something that I might do. Trust the suggestion made will help - have a young man here with me Thomas Sugrue] who has been a very great suffer - the same was given for him and feel sure it is the only thing that has saved his reason, but he is on the improve now. Thanks to HIM.
Can only hope and pray for the best, may HIS strength sustain you. Please remember me very kindly to Miss [1826].
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
R2. GD’s note: We later heard that Mrs. [1826] died early in the year 1940. [From the treatment [suggested in last readings] and vague rumors we had the idea that Mrs. [1826] died of cancer, but we felt that it could have been prevented if the treatment recommended in the reading first had been followed.]
R3. 3/22/40 Her husband referred Mrs. [2152] for a reading.
