This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of March, 1939, in accordance with request made by Mr. [2413], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [5417].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief for this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: As we find, it is too late for any IMMEDIATE change. Or to attempt to rectify or change immediate applications would be only futile.

3. If there is the ability of those administering to stop the hemorrhage to the brain before there is entirely the loss of activity through the system, when the body has quieted there may be given something that might aid in restoring the equilibrium (provided the body is out from under the present environs, of course), sufficient for the mental reactions to be such as for the body to care for self.

4. As to the locomotary forces that will be hindered, and some of the organs of the sensory forces, - these - even if life IS preserved - may be destroyed in such a manner as to be only partially active.

5. Hence as we find it would be in the present useless to attempt to change conditions.

6. Let those administrations that are being used, then, be followed.

7. And for those who are the closer to the body, let there be much prayer. But - promise not to thy Maker that you would not fulfil in thy daily dealings with thy fellow man!

8. We are through with this Reading.

Dr. Edgar Caycee Asso. for Research & Enlightenment Virginia Beach, Virginia

Dear Dr. Cayce:

Pursuant to your reading on [1843] on March 16th, and your further correspondence of March 17th, I am very anxious to have you follow this up and enlighten me in the best way you can, and in this connection I am giving you the following information.

[1843] is a little boy six years old, my nephew.

He was born in shock, after a short hard delivery, and oxygen administered. He thrived well, but at the age of 2 1/2 years showed a difficulty in behavior. He went to the Kindergarten in public school at the age of 4 1/2 years, and at that time the Child Guidance in the public school recommended his removal from school because of lack of co-ordination, and suggested a private school for retarded children. His parents tried that without success. At the age of 6 he was sent to Bellevue Hospital, Psychiatric Institute for observation, and they claim injury at, during, or before birth. He was then sent to Letchworth Village which is an institution for mental and retarded children, where he now is.

What are your suggestions with regard to this child. Could you give us a follow-up reading on this case.

Dear Dr. Cayce,

Answering your letter of August 17th regarding the reading for [1843]. I take notice that you can give me the morning of the 26th, 10.30 to 11.30, E.S.T. for this.

[1843] is in Letchworth Village, Thiells, New York.

What I want to know is, are they helping him? Will he benefit by being there? How long should he stay? Will his mental condition improve? Could he possibly outgrow this condition? What would you suggest with regard to his condition and treatment? Anything you could help us with would surely be appreciated.

Please take note also that Letchworth Village is a public institution.
