This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of October, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1861], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia.

GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1861].
-
As we find, there slowly are improvements. The general health and the more perfect coordination created between all activities of the body will be necessary for a great deal of helpful forces for the vision.
-
We would continue with the osteopathic corrections at least twice a month, for at least another sixty to ninety days.
-
When ready to retire we would have each evening the thorough massage, especially with the oils indicated, along the cerebrospinal system, and about the neck and lower portion of the head; face, chin muscles, in the temples; the centers through which all of the optic and auditory forces receive impulses to and from the superficial circulation, as well as the deeper circulation.
-
We would use the Violet Ray, - no more than three times a week, and about a minute and a half at a time.
-
Then, in the diet, - keep close to those things that are body and nerve building, that add to the abilities for the more perfect eliminations. Have plenty, then, of citrus fruits, of vegetables, as the general diet, and especially figs, dates, nuts, as an aid to the eliminations. Stewed figs, stewed raisins and prunes, all of these should be a part of the diet.
-
Do these and, as we find, we will keep toward bettered conditions.
-
Remember, there is the ability also within self to raise the vibrations AS the corrections are made. It is not for the betterment if this is attempted when there are poor eliminations, or with improper circulation. These need to cooperate, coordinate in EVERY phase of the body’s experience.
-
Keep that attitude of constructive influence; using the abilities in bringing more harmony, more peace in the experiences of others - that brings the same for self.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should any change be made in the use of vibrator? (A) We would change very little. Use it in the general way as has been indicated. The massages as indicated would be more to the head and neck, and generally along the spine, but more in head and neck areas, see?
-
(Q) Any change in the violet ray, other than indicated? (A) Only as indicated. Not overstimulation nor too long a period, but these vibrations are needed yet.
-
(Q) The Adiron? (A) These we would keep through the period especially of the cold and winter season.
-
(Q) Is present diet sufficient in vitamins, minerals and other elements? (A) We would make some alterations in keeping with the suggestions as indicated here for the character of fruits, the manner of preparation, and also the nuts. Particularly have almonds, filberts and the like, more than other characters. Of course, a good quality of pecan is well. But the almonds and filberts are particularly good for the body.
-
(Q) What can be done to shorten period of correction of vision? (A) Let’s make haste slowly, and not overstress the correction in vision. Let’s make the changes as a growth, and the using of what is obtained in a better or more constructive manner - this will be better than attempting to hasten same.
-
(Q) Give a suitable breathing exercise for the physical, mental and spiritual development of this body. (A) The morning exercise and the evening exercise with the breathing would be very good.
Mornings - arise, with plenty of fresh air. Rise gently on the toes, raising at the same time the arms high above the head in about the same ratio as the body rises in its stride in raising itself on toes. Breathe in, especially through the right nostril, exhaling through the mouth - at least three times. Then three times through the left nostril and exhaling through the mouth. These repeated in the evening would be well.
As for exercises to raise the kundaline in the body, - these, of course, should come in a different form or nature. Seated upon the floor, with the feet extended directly, raise self - as it were - in the same manner, but making the activities of the breathing in SEE the raising of the influences within self. These are the manners best for the body in the present.
-
(Q) Please advise as to use of Estep and Yogi methods. (A) Unless there are bettered conditions in the physical force as related to coordination, we find that these would NOT be so well for the body. For, they produce strain upon the very portions of the glandular force that are already in a state of disturbance, see?
-
(Q) I have been having so much trouble with my new RCA radio-phonograph. What can be done to eliminate tonal difference, skipping and sticking of pickups in my phonograph? [See 1861-10, Par. R1.] (A) This as we find is the construction of the arm carrying the needle, or the tone, and is sticking in the socket. This may be altered or set in order through same.
-
We are through for the present.

R3. 12/3/41 EC’s ltr. to Mr. [1861]:
Dear [2072] and [1861]
Here I am trying to write you a note when would like to be in Drs. office waiting for you. But we stayed in N.Y. much longer than we had intended, and just got in home last Sunday. Find my desk literally piled up with mail that has to be answered, and most of it as you may guess, wanted answering at once. Have had readings each day since have been home, so could not get away this afternoon as bad as wanted to. Seems ages since have see you - would like to tell you something of the trip this time. Was a bit unusual, as we stayed with Mrs. Emmit at Rye this time instead of Scarsdale with Mrs. Kahn as we usually do. Saw many of our old friends in N.Y. area and hope made a few new ones. Mrs. Emmit was kind enough to take us with her to her country home in N. H. for Thanksgiving. What a trip and what a place! One of those kinds you read about and never expect to see - built before the Revolutionary days, modernized just enough to be fine and lose none of the early American beauty. Will have to tell you about it when see you again. Will surely make it the next time you are down this way. Hope you both have gotten over your colds, and are feeling fine again. Sure would love to have seen you this evening.
Have been feeling fine. Felt good during the entire trip and have to pinch myself to know whether it is really me or not. But after the experience when healed should feel good for a long time, yet am sure just careful and obey the laws of nature.
Haven’t heard from Mr. […] as yet. Do hope may be able to at least try after the love and thought [1861] has shown.
Am glad you have a satisfactory box - too bad the RCA didn’t work out as they had planned for it to do. But one can’t stand having their records broken. Mrs. Emmit had one called Script - never saw one like it but it plays and changes the records very nicely. Takes about twenty records at a time turns them over tho; but seems to do it well. They say it works perfectly, only one evening believe tried it out. Had dinner music all during the dinner hour, but all liked to talk so well, after dinner it was turned off. Good radio also connected - was a very large box tho. I used the radio more than the records after and before readings each day.
Sure can get to liking the radio or the music very very easily and guess one can let time go by when listening to same. Find I have to budget myself and just have certain even when I listen. Have a lot of nice records but no machine to play them on. Will have to put Sat. afternoon on list of days to listen to radio now, since opera is on. Some of that I like very well and especially the music.
We had one rainy day while away - that on Sunday, and of course, we had engagement to go out that day; but took back to train and was met there by our friends, so was all fine. Had planned an outdoor barbecue, so had it right in the living room of the home, not like outside, but was very lovely and wonderful company anyway.
Hope you have rain soon for your well’s sake, as well as every other reason. Is quite foggy here for last two days, but seems not so much out this evening. So you are taking Home nursing - or is it home cooking? But you don’t like cooking, do you? Oh yes, Mrs. [1770] wished to know if you had put on any weight as yet - said she felt you should. Then proceeded to tell me how streamlined she had become from diet and exercise. By the way, have got to write her tonight if can get that far along. She is still in Seattle
- or maybe you have heard from her.
Am sure the music study girls enjoy coming in to listen to the music. Enjoy being with you and [1861] - all so am sure, know I do.
In the dark is a wonderful way to listen to the music - yet to me there is some like lights on very dimly when hear it.
Thanks for the letter - that was her and waited a bit for me. Sorry to have missed the rest of this evening but work before play and others before self, guess it has to be there. Hope you find time to drop me line soon - know it was other wise engaged and not just neglect or any thing akin to it that you haven’t heard. Never have chance to write much when away - as rarely take the little machine and if wrote long hand no one would ever know what even meant to say.
So let me hear soon. Hope you are both fine.
With heaps of big love [signed] [Edgar Cayce] Eddie
Saw the publishers. They like the material, feel it should be transposed a bit and elucidated in places. Tom working on it now, hope to have it soon.
R4. 12/16/41 EC’s ltr. to Mr. [1861]:
My dear “little Anna [2072]”;- Like to think of you in that role this morning. There seem to be so much to worry about, certainly a mighty feeling to wish to get away from it all, to turn to and into those realms of consciousness that have so little to do with hate and the accompanying acts. Yet we have to be in this world, yet not of the world any more than can help.
So won’t see you until after New Year. Hope you both keep well and have the loveliest Holiday ever.
Yes, seemed as if all the powers of evil must have been let lose on the 7th. Have several friends in Hawaii, and one of the boys on the Enterprise is a member of the study group here. Heard from him a letter written about four or five days before things turned lose. He was supposed to be discharged today, but of course am sure he won’t now. He is one of those who has oft told me I was the kind of father he would like to have had. He had lost his when he was young and was about to desert the Navy when first met him. A very lovely boy - anxious to hear from him. Have had card from another young man there, sent us a Christmas card on the 2nd of Dec., but his mother has heard from him since the battle.
Sure the manner in which we were attacked has united the country as nothing else has, but afraid the struggle is long. But, as has been said - “unless the days be shortened, the very elect may be destroyed” or how ever the Good Book puts it.
Did you hear the programme Bill of Rights last night? Was good and hope the spirit of that creation is the prompting force for this land. Am sure it must be. Has been indi- cated it will be 45 before real Peace is declared or reached
- that seems as if could not be, and hope the days are shortened. [See 270-47, Par. 39-A.]
Am sure there is something given and will be sent out from time to time. The trouble with me, I don’t know when it is
- are to have the Christmas reading next Sunday. I believe, that should be good - hope it is any way.
Good, am glad you are pleased with the machine you now have and that both radio and the box are good. Oft find one good and the other not so good. Am sure you are enjoying them.
Has the rain brought water back into your well?? While the city water may be alright, am sure it isn’t just like the well.
That will be a lovely service - am sure on the 11th and the whole thing is so beautiful. Hope you tell me all about it when it happens. Yes, would love to come up to see you all
- will very first chance. Still being kept quite busy and my time belongs to every one else that needs me.
That is marvelous, to have a genealogy back like that. Would like to see that as had the opportunity to see several such - as Mrs. Emmit has one of her father’s family’s great books of it. Also, the Emmit family three books I believe, of that goes back to the early English history, with the various names how changed, where and when, the good and the bad also of the family.
Yes, you must have been in the list some where, else why would you be in the family now?
Yes, think H. L. and Sally are moving next Sat., tho, they haven’t gotten their furniture as yet. They say they want to be in their own home before Christmas. Mrs. C. think plans to lend them a bed and a chair or so.
Edgar Evans came in Sat. night, be here only a few days, but had he and his girl and H. L. and Sally for dinner Sunday - gosh, made me feel old! Imagine he is very much in love, had the Life reading for his Edgar Evans] girl. Quite interesting and guess it fits in alright according to the information and she feels it is her alright.
Gee, what a responsibility the readings take on at times - makes me a bit dizzy. Haven’t heard from Tom lately, but he was working on the revision when last heard. Hope he will have it soon. Have had some marvelous experiences with the readings of late, will try and think to tell you of them when see you all again. Lovely letter from Mrs. [1770], lately she asked very particularly about you and [1861].
Well, hope you are both fine. Here wishing you a very happy Christmas and a very Peaceful New Year. With lots of love to each of you.
With love and a kiss [signed] [Edgar Cayce] Eddie
