This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of January, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1861], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1861]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, there continues to be real improvement in the general condition of the body; as well as - more specific - the vision, and the reaction of the optic nerves WITH the general conditions of the body.

4. While there are still particles of accumulations, or cataracts, that have been a part of the disturbance, we find that with the proper applications these will gradually be absorbed and eliminated from the body.

5. As indicated by the “feel” or movement in portions of the head and neck, AND through the eyes, there is a better circulation being established.

6. In the present, these are those applications as may be made and will supply, and bring about the better influences for the body; with those precautions of a general nature as should be taken, as to diet, as to general activity, and the regular checking on the posture and position, as well as the regimentation of segments throughout the system for the preventing of any blocking in the system:

7. Each evening, when the body is ready to retire, use the electrically driven vibrator with the cup applicator, to stimulate circulation along either side of the cerebrospinal system. This should be given for at least twenty minutes, and would begin at about the 3rd or 4th dorsal going up to the base of the brain, then back down the other side, whether the first application is made upon the right or the left side of the spine, see? Begin at the 3rd or 4th dorsal and go up, then come back on the other side TO the 3rd and 4th dorsal, see? But alter these - whichever is begun first - every day. Also give this across the base of the skull, coming up behind the ear and to the temple and the nerves that are a portion of the facial and cranial nerves upon either side. Take about twenty minutes for the treatment each evening. It should be given just before the body is ready to retire.

8. It will be found helpful, at the end of the treatment, to extend this to the end of the spine, and even along the sciatic centers on either limb, - which will allow for a general relaxing, that at times is disturbing to the body with the tension under which the body labors, when it begins to rest or relax - the quick jerking muscular forces that ensue.

9. At least twice each week - say Tuesdays and Thursdays, or Mondays and Fridays - whichever is the more convenient, but have regular periods for same - we would use the violet ray (hand machine), the double-eye applicator. This is not to be used instead of the electrically driven vibrator, on those days it is used, but it should be used after the vibrator treatment is given. Apply the double-eye applicator, NOT at the full strength but just so in the beginning there is perfect contact and an even flow of the released high vibrations for the body.

10. Use this for at least three weeks, and then leave off a week, - but keep up the vibrator treatments as indicated each day.

11. Once a month at least, or such matter, have such an one as Richardson make the osteopathic adjustments to coordinate the whole of the cerebrospinal system with the GENERAL circulation of blood AND nerve energies THROUGHOUT the cerebrospinal system to the head.

12. These we would do.

13. Keep the diets.

14. Keep the meditations. Let that period each evening that is used in having the vibrations given, be used as part of the meditation period, - in seeing these applications aiding in accomplishing beneficial effects in the body. Do not make these applications hurriedly, but let the one making the application, as well as the body [1861], see how this is aiding to accomplish that desired.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) What now hinders the normal vision in right and left eyes? (A) The perfect coordination, as indicated, between the general - or cerebrospinal, and the sympathetic or sensory forces.

17. (Q) How may the fragment of remaining cataract on the right eye be removed? (A) As indicated, by being absorbed and eliminated.

18. (Q) What is the significance of the apparent movement, within the eye, of this fragment? (A) As has been indicated.

19. We are through for the present.

R1. 1/17/41 (Friday) Wife [2072]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Eddie,

The reading came this morning. Thank YOU, and God, “who through you speaks!” It was a good reading and we shall go ahead with the instructions - immediately. We can get the applicator and Violet Ray. The applicator is already ordered.

Whatever would we do without you? When I think how much you have helped us both, given us understanding of so many things, and actually been means of contact with the great omniscient Mind of the Universe there is a deeper sense of Joy and Satisfaction and Love than from anything else that I know.

We know certain things, from the reading, to be true, such as the movements within head, eyes and neck, because [1861] will tell me frequently of such “goings on” and describe “pulls”, “cracks”, electrical vibrations, or flashes up his spine. Last night there was a discharge into the nose and throat which came from the left eye, and there was a slight difference in vision through that eye - only slight - but we feel everything means something gained.

I believe Dr. Dobbins DID get the spine all corrected. You know, intuition, or God, was speaking to us when we stayed those two extra days before coming home Xmas Eve. And it was during those two days the vertebrae in the neck were really corrected. [1861] wanted to come home the 22nd and, from inside me, I DIDN’T want to. The impression seemed to come to me that we should stay on and we COULD (there was no reason at all why we SHOULD come home) and take a few more treatments. I revolted in packing, but I went ahead doing as he wanted and packed - all the time feeling we shouldn’t go home then. The morning we were to leave [1861] awoke and told me he had had a dream of talking to his dead brother, […], in which […] told him he’d better stay and get two more treatments as we might not be able to get back to N.Y. again. So, stay we did! and those two days WERE valuable in finishing up the correct placement of the vertebrae in the neck.

I’ve massaged his back in the shoulder and neck region every night since we came back from N.Y. the first time. This vibrator is so much better and more efficient and stimulates deeper, though we’re glad for that.

These readings (since the day I read [1861]‘s first physical one) have been a source of constant interest to me. The way they go after facts, anticipate questions, & explain physical conditions give me a reverential feeling I can’t explain.

And yet, that God should see all, hear all and know all - THIS is GOD - so how can people doubt. People say, “How can Mr. Cayce do this?” and then go on wondering. I don’t believe very many people conceive of God as all-knowing.

I can’t put all the time I’d like to put into working on these readings. I’d love to work on them eight hours a day 6 days a week if it were possible, but I love [1861] and our little apartment too and I have to break way from the readings to tend to other lovi’n things, too so I may not be able to do them as fast for you as I’d like. I’ll be sending a few completed ones to Hugh Lynn this next week, though, to see if everything is alright and for his suggestions and corrections. Checking them over on the cards and Extract note paper he’ll be able to give them a thorough going over.

Dear “little Anna”;-

There is a feeling of awe, reverence, love when ever I address you thus, that makes me wish to just sit and think and think and think. Just hope you and [1861] don’t mind.

Glad you were both pleased with the reading. That will help a lot am sure adds to the success of the application as well as results that may be obtained.

To be the channel of help to those we are sure we have always loved brings a sereneness that nothing else I know of can - of course that is an inner feeling and hope I think I have for every one - but there are those we feel drawn to, that is not just the same with every one.

Fine that you can check up on the symptoms and feelings in the physical readings, that stimulates confidence, and to be sure becomes most helpful. The experience, he has just had sounds good to me, to be sure there are refuse to be gotten rid of, as the healing forces come to the rescue of disturbed parts the idea then, is to do just the right thing to keep the healing in the right direction. If as we are told the body renews itself every so often, why shouldn’t whatever may be wrong, be corrected. And it will do we do just the right thing and that is where a suggestion like this may help - and has through the years.

Don’t think have ever known a better or more conscientious worker than Dr. Dobbins, but am thinking you will find Dr. Richardson excellent also - in fact believe Dr. R. was one of the teachers when Dr. D. studied at College - and he is a specialist on eyes, ears, nose and throat.

Lovely experience you had about the last two treatments - and fine that it was verified not only by actual experience - but the dream [1861] had.

Am sure you are an excellent nurse - [1861] is most fortunate

• and you that you love to do just that as will bring health and happiness to each of you am sure it will never be a burden to you - that is what hurts many.

Yes - any one who studies or is a close observer, certainly wonders about the readings, do myself often, but I know as you, it isn’t Mr. C that does it - only the good as may work through each and every one of us, the willingness possibly to lay aside my own physical consciousness, and let God have a chance may attune the whole procedure, but is as Jesus said (tho of course don’t mean to compare myself to HIM) “Of myself can do nothing - only as the Father worketh in me” so am not expecting any other influence than HIS - and believe He meant what He said when he promised to be with us - one thing have noticed recently - my attention never drawn to it before - as I study Jesus life - he never refused an invitation to any affair to which he was invited, and to be aware that He is with us - NOW we need only invite HIM.

It is lovely of you [2072] to help out with the work on the readings - know you can’t give but just so much time - and you do not want to neglect anything that you have that should be done - home or social duties, but just what time you can spare, that you find it interesting - is fine - and do hope you feel that is worthwhile - for only with that idea, can it be a work at all. Am sure H. L. will be glad to see what you have done - so will I. Have no doubt but that you will do them correctly - better than any one else I know.

Don’t I wish I could come to the recital - but each period is taken the week of the 26th including Sunday the 2nd - then too Mrs. C. is still abed better am sure but still suffering a good bit. Can hope that will all be over, but don’t see how can get away.

Flu - has taken a toll around here also. Last Sunday didn’t even have S.S. so many were ill - the children - had the adult class - but that too was only about half of regular number we have.

Oh yes - the general health means every thing with [1861] - and that you and he can see that on the improve, is wonderful lets just keep it up.

Am certainly enjoying the Book - would certainly like to have known Mr. Lloyd am a very poor reader tho and go very slow - anything particularly deed [deep?], seem to lose consciousness at once when I begin to read it, then when read again seem to remember of having read it. So takes me awhile to get a book like this - do thank you for remembering me and letting me read it.

His place must have been lovely - and the vibrations there about - just beyond description in words.

Oh yes - have had many who were Chinese and Japanese, will tell you about some of them some time. Some most interesting experiences with such. Yes - many who were Chinese or Jap, have or are now Americans - one whose picture I have here on the wall. When first met this man had no idea who he was - for he just came in - and was first time had ever met him - had his reading said before this he was a Chinese Teacher, and that he had a feeling of having been there - and many of that people looked on him as of their people - when was through he said to us well I was for ten years a Banker in China this time - and wish to show you what the people there gave me - don’t know the names of such - but there were 12 figures of the most beautiful things I ever saw - representing the 12 phases of man’s understanding - Chinese figures you know.

Yes sir - the informations insists there are certain vegetables should never be cooked in aluminum, especially Tomatoes - spinach - beans and the like, in fact have had a few cases of stomach trouble attributed to the use of aluminum cooking. Like any questions that may come to your mind - don’t hesitate to ask at any time tho am sure you will come across many of such as these in various readings.

Dear Mr. Cayce

Just a few lines to tell you that I will be in my studio at … College Saturday afternoon, as I will not have time to get home in time, after finishing my teaching.

I have been thinking of the many things that you told us while we were with you ten days ago. You need never think that we think you at all boastful or that you are putting yourself forward in telling us of these experiences, for we look upon them just as you do as something that is too sacred to ever take such a selfish view of. Then, too, these things seem so natural to us that it would never occur to us to take any but a spiritual or sacred attitude towards them. We deem it a very great privilege that we are permitted by the higher forces to contact one such as you in the flesh and that we may be so helped and made to realize so much more the true way of life. We are only too glad that you feel that we do understand and that you can be free with us to share some of the great knowledge that has come to you thru these experiences.

I am quite sure that I can find no cause for jealousy in so far as [2072] is concerned, because if you didn’t love her, there would be something wrong with you. Father Eneres loved her, too, because she filled a need during the last years of his earthly life, and, of course, she gained as much from him. And so it is that she gains as much and possibly more from having the love of one such as you than you do from her. Anyway, the three of us have certainly been thrown together again because we needed each other and this is the way I feel about it and hope you will not worry about what I might think. Indeed, if you didn’t have Mrs. Cayce to look after you or didn’t have a home of your own, we would insist upon your coming to live with us and carry on your work. I only mention this to show you how I would feel if your circumstances were less fortunate and to show you that I take a sensible and broader view of such things. At least, that is what I try to do.

The double electrode just came today. So, I hope we are finally fixed now to go ahead with treatments.

Dear [1861]:

Each time I see you and [2072] or hear from you by letter, you just endear yourselves to me. Of all the experiences of my life knowing you two has been and is the most wonderful. Have prayed often that if Re-incarnation was a fact, that it be demonstrated to me, in such a way that I would know. Then to have it come in such a way, with persons that meant so much to me at one period of my life. Well I couldn’t help but love each of you, the added assurance to know that each of you think well of me, just justifies it all. Yet am persuaded any message as this from a Divine source, needs no justification, but Glorification, and the how to do this, well we will just be as helpful one to the other as possible. I realize can’t boast of these any more than could go about and declaim to the general public. It was nothing for me to see the chariot of The Lord, for they would know I was sadly demented, so may many feel were they to know I was very much in love with your wife. However you must know it, and that it is as sacred to me as my hope for a hereafter. You are right there would be something wrong with me if didn’t love both of you.

Thank you more than know how to tell you [1861] would like and do hope to be with you two just as often as possible.

Father Eneres was a wonderful soul, and am sure she is much the better for knowing him, and just pray and trust you can each always say that for knowing poor little me.
