This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of October, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1865], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1865].

3. Now as we find, there has not been a great change since we last had the body here; yet the inflammation of the nerves - or walls of same - continues to be the greater disturbance - and there is more irritation shown than when last we had same.

4. We would use the Appliance, in the manner as has been indicated; but there should be recharges, and there should be changes in the solutions, - the same quantity and the same strength as has been indicated, but recharging and cleansing the containers and the plates before they are used again.

5. We would have more of the rubs, but now we would change these to the equal combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh.

6. And be a little more consistent with the diet, in those manners as has been outlined.

7. These, as we find, offer the better conditions for this body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) Shall I continue taking the Liver Extract? (A) Continue to take same.

10. (Q) Why am I so completely exhausted when I attempt to walk out of doors? (A) The irritation to the nerve walls, as we have indicated; lacking in sufficient of those elements which are supplied through the low electrical forces for the body. And keep these until the glandular forces are able to take care of the conditions.

11. (Q) What causes the new pain in my big left toe? (A) The cutting off of the nerve supply to the extremities. Thus the need for the rubs, especially in the end of nerve tendons, in portions of the extremities.

Do as has been outlined, if we would bring the better forces for this body, [1865].

R1. 10/11/39 [1865]‘s letter to EC:

“Thank you for your reading received Monday. I have at once ordered the ingredients for my Wet Cell Appliance and shall follow your suggestions. At first when reading your suggestions I was puzzled with the remark that I shall be more consistent with the diet, having tried very much to live up to it. I took my first reading again and was amazed to see that one meal should consist only of vegetables and fruit juices, which I have not done. Since Monday I did it and shall continue it.

“Thanking you again, I know you are of help to me. Since I got interested in the psychic work, the reading of my Bible has another meaning for me.

“May God bless you…”

R2. 10/14/39 EC’s letter to [1865]:

“Thank you for yours of the 11th. I hope you have received the recharge for your Appliance, have it going and are already feeling good results from same. Not very often is there found the information is wrong in checking on people’s diet or their activities for that matter. I do sincerely hope to be of a real service. It certainly does my heart good to have you say your interest in things psychic and your reading has helped you in your study and understanding of the scripture. For that is a marvelous book, full of meaning for those who will apply its precepts, and foolish to those who do not want to heed it. And the promises are your very own, for who so ever will, may take of the ‘water of life’ and HE is the way, the truth and light.

R3. 12/8/39 [1865]‘s letter to EC:

“Since the end of October, I began to have new and more severe pain in my legs, though I followed faithfully your suggestions. The 14th of November, I gave my order to […] for renewing my Appliance and I waited.

“About three weeks ago, a friend of mine visited me and not wanting to see me suffer much longer, sent to me Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures [Christian Science] by Mrs. Mary Baker] Eddy. I read it, and still am and found much logic and help in it. Since last Monday, it came clearly in my mind, that I was on the right way and feel I have to tell it to you, thanking you for what you did for me.

“Tuesday, I wrote to […] to cancel my order.

“If you have anybody near here who would have use of the Wet Cell Appliance, I would be glad to give it, since it will stay idle in my possession…”

R4. 12/11/39 EC’s letter to [1865]:

“Thank you for yours of the 8th. I am happy to know that you have that as answers to your needs. There is POWER in HIS name, as in no other and may His blessings keep you and give you just that as is needed to fill every atom of your being with LOVE and HOPE. Know I will be glad to hear from you at any and all times, and can we ever be of a help, know we are glad to do so. Should there be anyone in the vicinity that might use the Appliance, I will let you know. Or you may ship it back to the company and they will make an allowance on same, am sure…”

R5. 8/23/41 GD’s letter to [1865]:

“Do you still have in your possession the Wet Cell Appliance used some years ago in accordance with suggestions made through Mr. Cayce’s readings? If so, would you be interested in disposing of it? We are having a hard time getting such appliances made up now, and consequently could easily resell it for you.

“Please reply by return mail, advising as to price you would take for it, etc., if you wish to sell it…”

R6. 8/26/41 [1865]‘s letter to GD:

“Thank you for your letter of August 23rd.

“Yes, I still have the Wet Cell Appliance and would gladly dispose of it. Two years ago I would have loved to give it to someone who could use it. Today, having been without work for over a year, I shall be grateful for what you are giving me, knowing you will be fair in your decision.

“Will you kindly advise me where I shall send it…”

R7. 8/29/41 GD’s letter to [1865]:

“Thank you for yours of the 26th. Please send the Wet Cell Appliance to us here. We will have it gone over and put in shape for the other person’s use, then send you what we are able to get for it - which, I feel, should be around $15.00. Would that be satisfactory…”

“P.S. You may send it express charges collect.”

R8. 9/22/41 [1865]‘s letter to GD:

“I trust you are in possession by now of the Wet Cell Appliance, which I have sent to your address per Express September 5th. And I hope it reached you in as good a condition as it left me.

“Thank you for your letter of September 3rd, and I will be satisfied with your offer…”

R9. 10/15/41 EC’s letter to [1865]:

“We received the Appliance, overhauled it and sent it out to someone who has just made returns on same. I enclose $15.00, the price we were able to get for you on same. I hope this is satisfactory.

“Trust you are feeling well and all is well with you…”
