This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of June, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1865], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, there is not a great deal of improvement in the abilities of the body to be as active as formerly. Yet there ARE improvements as to the sources of the infectious forces which have been destroying the activity of the locomotories, and especially the nerve forces of the body.

4. We would continue with the Oil Rubs, - recharging the Appliance and using same regularly.

5. When there are the acute pains in limbs and in the torso of the body, especially through the hips, we would apply a saturated solution of Epsom Salts in Packs, as hot as the body can stand, covering same with heavy toweling. Dip a heavy towel in the saturated solution, you see, and apply directly to the body. This will allay the pain, also the swelling and the soreness.

6. Following the application of such Packs, while the pores of the body are open, would be a most excellent period for the massage with the Oil, as given.

7. Keep these up, for relief.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) In the beginning of July, I have to go in the country with the children. Are there any specific directions for treatment while there? (A) Keep up those conditions as we have indicated, and when there is acute pain use the applications as indicated.

“Thank you very much for your check-up reading, which I received Friday.

“I was quite astonished not having heard from you before and more when I read the time of your reading and remembering that last Monday, feeling very tired, I rested in my room from 5:15 to 5:45 D.L.S.T., and my thoughts were very much with your work. You would not call it, as I do, a very strange coincidence.

“I am so sorry, but I do not see how I can possibly take the treatments of the Wet Cell Appliance during July, August - until the middle of September when we come back. All your other suggestions I shall follow most faithfully and I hope with all my heart, God will give me His blessing and help me.

“Thanking you again for your kindness and help…”

R2. 7/3/39 EC’s letter to [1865]:

“Thank you for yours of the 2nd. I do hope you will get along the very best. I’m glad you told me of your experience. Yes - when such happens again and again: even one recently told us of the reading, mentioning a bell was ringing, though they were in Florida and we at the beach. She said just at the time indicated on the reading, the church bell next door began to ring. When such happens so often, can one say unusual coincidence alone??? I just wonder. But if so, it is helpful the more glory to coincidence.

R3. 9/25/39 [1865]‘s letter to EC:

“Back to my usual life here in the hotel, I am anxious to continue your helpful suggestions. Would you please give me a check reading? The afternoon hour suits me better, but I can arrange it as it is convenient for you, only kindly let me know the time. I have been suffering a great deal this summer, which has been very active for me. I am grateful to have the strength to fulfill my duties and know that I have profited through your treatments and gained the great assurance of God’s help.

“I discontinued the Epsom Salts Packs, feeling worse after them. The sciatic nerve in my left leg began to be very painful. This added to my crampy feeling, difficulty to stretch it and great stiffness. Walking is still a painful, difficult matter. I have also much trouble in keeping my balance, especially if I want to turn.

“Otherwise I am well and look fine and happy.

“I got the Congress booklet and feel as if I had been there a little bit.

“Daily I think about you, dear Mr. Cayce and ask God to bless you and your work in helping humanity…”
