Background) This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 16th day of May, 1925, in accordance with request made by his mother, Mrs. [199].

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here. This we have had before, you see, and those relations with the universal forces as may be and are manifested in this present earth’s plane.

3. In the position as is taken in the present plane, we find this comes from Jupiter, with Uranus and Mars, with Saturn and Neptune in the adverse conditions, bringing then to this entity one that will be and is strong of body, and will find, with the proper training, the normal development towards those conditions of the magnanimous, and of those ennobling influences as come in Jupiter; yet with those diverse influences in Uranus will bring very eccentric, very good or very bad, very high tempered, or one that will need the necessity then of being trained in that proper manner, which will give the resources of the urges as are exhibited in the body the opportunity of their development. For with the adverse influence in Mars, that comes with Saturn’s conjunction with same, we would bring, under the adverse conditions, when we would have the extremities of the Uranian influence, a force very detrimental to self and others. Hence, as has been given, the necessity, the responsibility, the manner that rests in the hands of those who would guide, guard and direct the trend of the thought of the developing individual.

4. With the greater influence, we find these will bring many of the ennobling and assisting influences in the earth plane.

5. One whose abilities will lie in that of the student along the line of monies and of psychological study, either that as the trained mathematician or banker, or as that of the student along psychological and astronomical studies. These may be, however, reversed by the conditions as exhibited and as has been given.

6. As to the appearances that we find, these come as the urge to the individuals:

7. In the one before this we find in the days when the strife was between the peoples in the present land, the entity then being among those who fought in that rebellion. In the name then we find of Artemus Davees [?]. In this we find the urge as will be in that of the thought as is exercised in self, being strong-minded, very centered in thought and action. Hence the necessity as will be of the training of the direction of the mind and of the developing in same.

8. In the one before this we find in the days of the development of the country into that of the republic forces in France, when the rebellions were in the land. The entity then in that of Vasi Borgenes [?]. The entity then the one that assisted in the capture of those forts about which the soldiers of the ones defending the royalty became the ones necessary to overcome or overthrow these conditions. The entity from this we find gains that dislike for those who would be over-bearing, or those who would be presumptuous in their action. Hence the necessity of those training and giving the correction for the development of the entity of always knowing and showing the reason, and reasoning with the individual in its development.

9. In the one before this we find in the days of the rebellions in the plains country, when this had become settled. The entity then was in that of the Viva [?] who became the heralder of the new religious thought as was given to that people then in Arabian forces. This we find became the developing point of the entity. Hence in this present urge we will find the desire of the study of such, of the religious thought and study as pertaining to psychological and astronomical conditions. Yet for the same reason, by not being directed properly, may be turned into adverse channels.

10. In the one before this we find in the days of the Atlantis, when the peoples were in that of the higher state of civilization. The entity then was the teacher in the psychological thought and study, especially as that of the transmission of thought through ether. Hence the urge as will be seen in this entity in the studying of those as has been given.

11. Then, as to what this entity may develop, along those lines as has been given, and well that these be followed and directed in that manner as to bring the best to the entity, ever knowing that the way of the transgressor is hard, and that knowledge gives the understanding, when given in the manner that may be applied in the individual’s life.

12. We are through for the present.

R1. 8/10/26 Mother obtained for him Physical Rdg. 187-2.

R2. 8/20/47 Report by GD: He won the prize at a baby show when 4 months old; always “strong” and healthy; always an honor student; worked his way through school.

Very “centered in thought and action” as a leader and teacher (“heralder”) in the Seventh Day Adventist religious movement.

Always made his own way financially; family received help from him in this respect very early. Outstanding in his religious leadership in the Seventh Day Adventist Schools which he attended. Is now a teacher in the School himself. Always good in mathematics.

While in the Army would not carry arms: was sent to Paris and stationed there as a PFC in the Medical Detachment for many months; traveled through much of the famous places in France - did not like Paris - said he would trade the whole for one tiny spot of American soil.

Very devoutly interested in “transmission” of messages from God to old prophets, etc., a “heralder” of a return to religion - and especially to HIS chosen religion!

Has always had a radio since a small boy; has always been able to tinker with one and get it to working - just has a knack for it.

R3. 6/7/56 Letter from [187]‘s mother [199]: ”…[187] has his Doctors Degree now, in chemistry. Head of the department here at … college …” Seventh Day Adventist College …, Nebraska.]

R4. 9/24/60 Mother, Mrs. [199], wrote: “[187] has four children, two boys and two girls.”

R5. 8/3/74 Nephew’s letter requested a copy of 187-1. GD wrote [187] to ask if he objected.

R6. 9/29/74 Dr. [187] replied: “I imagine sometime when he [nephew] was visiting some of our children he heard about that reading. I do not feel that he has any particular need for a copy of the reading but I have no objections if you want to send him a copy. I first heard of it a number of years ago when I was teaching in Nebraska. A friend ran across the reference to Robin Belote in Mary Carter’s book, EDGAR CAYCE ON PROPHECY [Paperback Library 1968, pp. 48-49]. She came to me questioning the data which seemed to fit me. I believe I later checked with Mother and got the whole story…

“I have been the gad-about with time in Europe and then a dozen years in the Orient. At last we are a bit closer to home…we have been in … almost two years and enjoy it very much. It has a most pleasant climate and is handy to the States for visits. I am Academic Dean at … College.”

B2. 5/10/25 Mother [199] wrote: “Of course I want a rdg. on the boy. I want everything that will be a help in raising [187] as he should be raised, and I’m sure the rdg. would help me to do that. I appreciate the rdgs. you have given on me… I do think your work is wonderful.”
