This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of July, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self through friend, Mr. [1965], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes.

  3. Now as we find, conditions show improvements from that as we have had here before. To be sure, the ability for activity, without a great deal of inconvenience and disturbance, is slow in returning.

  4. And the activities of the upper portion of the hepatics have not been stimulated sufficiently; though they do not necessarily need operative forces, as we find.

  5. We would apply the Hot Castor Oil Packs for one hour each day for three days, over the liver and gall duct area. Have at least three thicknesses of flannel dipped into the hot Castor Oil, as hot as can be stood to be wrung out of same. After this has been padded so as to not spoil the bed clothing and the like, put an electric pad over same. Keep this on for an hour, each day for three days, see? Do this consistently.

  6. Then, after the third day, take internally a large dose of Olive Oil; two tablespoonsful or the like.

  7. After resting for three or four days, do this again.

  8. But when these Castor Oil Packs are given, they should be preceded by a thorough massage and correction in the areas from the 4th dorsal to the 9th dorsal, and a stimulation of the area - not too severe - over the liver and the gall duct area.

  9. Keep up the other treatments that have been indicated for the body.

  10. Ready for questions.

  11. (Q) Is the walking exercise prescribed necessary? (A) It’s necessary, if there is to be strength gained - when it is practical. Not, of course, during the periods when the Packs are being taken.

  12. We are through with this Reading.
