GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, the unbalancing of a chemical reaction - which has caused an increase in the quantity of the lymph to be active, forming and becoming inflammatory in its nature through infection - causes such accumulations in face and head and eyes as to become of such measures as to attack even the structural portions of the system there.
-
To be sure, it affects - through the areas attacked - the organs of the sensory system.
-
This as we find may be allayed, and possibly - with the very close following of same - eventually brought under control.
-
First, we would apply to the affected areas, especially about the neck and head, compresses of the Beet Leaves, finely chopped together, - made into a poultice or pack. Use the raw beet leaves, to be sure, not cooked. Bruise and chop them and pour boiling water over them, in an enamel or glass container not metal. Then apply between gauze, about half an inch thick. These poultices or packs should be changed about every two hours, until swelling has begun to allay.
-
Under the direction of a physician, and ONLY by same, we would have an injection in the spinal area - though not in the spine - of a hundred and twentieth (120th) of a grain of Atropine - to react upon the lymph circulation.
-
If it is necessary to repeat the injection, hypodermically, this may be done every second or third day, - dependent upon the reactions.
-
Also the compresses, or the poultices of the Raw Beet Leaves will aid in reducing this disturbance.
-
Give the properties in the diet and in the activities that are well for a better cleansing of the eliminations. These also should be directed by the physician.
-
Do these, - and we may then have the opportunity - if these react properly - for the aiding in other directions.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 6/30/39 [1937]‘s letter to EC:
“I am applying the beet poultice as you advised, also taking the shots in the spinal area.
“Please advise us as to what effect the poultice should have upon the swollen area, also from the shots.
“Advise if there are any other treatments that would help relieve the body of the poison from the tumor.”
R2. 7/3/39 EC’s letter to [1937]:
“Please understand I am not a doctor and can only tell you from experience with other readings that have been somewhat similar during the thirty-nine years experience with same. I have only known of beet poultice being given once before and it was to reduce the inflammation and bring it out of the system; the shots to act upon the lymph that is inflamed by the tumorous nature of blood.
“Just what else I do not know - it would be necessary to give another reading. Have your doctor make a list of questions if you like and you make some also asking about what you are disturbed with and we will do the best we can.”
R3. 7/9/39 Dr. W. L. Moore, M.D.’s letter to EC:
“I will try to give you a brief picture of [1937] as he is today. We have followed out your instructions with beet leaves and atropine injections every three days with atropine.
“He was blind when you gave the reading. Now he can see good. He has a large growth in right leg, front side, near groin. His first trouble was a large lump in the calf of leg, below knee of right leg. Dr. Gaither [Gant Gaither, M.D.] cut leg off above knee and then the lump came in the stump near the middle. It hasn’t seemed to grow since we communicated with you. He is very nervous. He drinks lots of milk, doesn’t eat very much, sleeps very well at times. We keep the beet poultices on the lump in his stub. We would like to have another reading and any suggestions you think best for him. Mr. Cayce, he is my nephew and we are very anxious about him and we have great confidence in your communication with the spirit and we promise you we will cooperate with you in any way you suggest.”
R4. 7/12/39 EC’s letter to Dr. W. L. Moore, M.D.:
“Thank you for yours of the 9th. As regards Mr. [1937] I assure you will do everything we can to try and be of a help. I know from experiences through the years how anxious all must be about him and hopeless it must appear. Trust God may grant some light to be shown that you may bring help and aid to him. As you possibly know I can only work just so often - twice each day, and am kept usually several weeks in advance with appointments. But we will try again for Mr. [1937] Monday morning, the 17th - as that each that are interested, pray that I may be used as a channel for help for him. The hour is 10:30 to 11:30 E.S.T. That is 9:30 to 10:30 your time.
“Is the young man any relation to [2664] who used to be county judge of Christian County? He was a very good friend of mine, no one that I ever knew that I thought more of, than [2664]. Could you tell me what has become of him? Is he still living? The last I heard of him, he went to Florida. I saw him last in New York.
“Thank you for your letter again and sincerely hope we may be of a help to you; to help the young man and all praise to the love of God, for of myself I can do nothing.”
