1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane; giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - ” - ‘36 - some changes in associations, connections - ‘28 - expectancies - ‘18 - activities altered - ‘16 - ‘98 - in stations of activity - ‘77 - an illness - ” etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [1942].

4. In giving an interpretation of the records as we find them here, varied interpretations might be made. But we would choose these as a desire and purpose that these might be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity - in the application of the knowledge in same - to better fulfil the purposes for which it entered this present sojourn.

5. As each entity should, we would minimize the faults and magnify the virtues.

6. As each entity enters a material experience, it does so with urges latent and manifested in some phase of that to be accomplished or attained through that individual experience, or to gain a lesson. And thus it comes into consciousness with these as part of its karma, its experience, its cosmic purpose. According to that chosen by the free will of the entity, as to its ideals, comes those lines, those conditions through which application is made; thus enabling the entity to know what to meet and how, proving a helpful influence for the entity.

7. When considered from a universal consciousness of past experiences, these are innate, and find manifestations under the varied conflicts or urges that arise, and that have arisen in the experience of the entity through this particular sojourn:

8. One very much given to sincerity of purpose. What the entity promises it fulfils, whether it be to friend or to foe. Yet there are periods when the entity (from an aspect we will see indicated) becomes rather inclined to see or feel the dark side, or to become pessimistic in its views; and it may at others be just as optimistic.

9. These tend to make for conflictions at times in its associations with others, as individuals.

10. Literature and writings have been and are those interests of the entity. Beautiful speech or phrases that sound not only beautiful to the ear but respond to the mental and spiritual being are of particular interest, and an activity of this entity.

11. These, while not all, give an outline of reactions of this particular entity from the astrological aspects, - though not in the term that is oft used, for these are only urges. And what one does about an urge in relationship to that the innate soul or ego has chosen for its ideal depends upon whether there is growth or retardment in the experience of the entity.

12. Jupiter is a ruling influence. Thus a universal consciousness, the abilities to do for and to consider the whole rather than the individual, are as the latent urges and as a fact in the experience of the entity.

13. In Venus we find the beauty, the orderly experiences of the life, the necessity of things being in their relative relationships one to another in the experience of the entity.

14. We find in Uranus the extremes. Thus the innate forces, dependent upon the application of such urges in its relationships to others. For, each soul is under those forces of law. And law is love. Law is God. God is love. God is law. These are as the urges in the experience of this entity.

15. As to the sojourns in the earth, - while only a few of these may be given in this particular period, these should indicate for the entity urges that are coincidental with the activities that have been and are a part of the experience. While not all, these we choose to give as the forces giving expression in the experience of the entity in this present period of its activity:

16. Before this the entity was in the period of expansion, or the closer relationships between the Roman and the Grecian students. The entity was active as a writer, in Ovid.

17. This indicates not only the abilities of the entity but of the mind and soul searching, using the experience of individuals, by their physical and mental activity, to picturize in words those activities of mind.

18. Through those experiences the entity gained, lost, and gained. As may be gathered from that indicated as to the higher purpose, when these were applied for the expression of individual or soul, there were gains. When they were applied for selfish activity, there were retarding forces.

19. Before that the entity was in the ‘city in the hills and the plains.’

20. There the entity was among those leaders of the groups that made intercourse or trade between the varied lands, eventually coming to use the ‘city in the hills’ as a place of exchange between those activities in the Indian and Indo-China land and Egypt.

21. The entity became interested in the activities in the ‘city in the plains’ as a teaching influence, as applied in a practical manner in physical as well as mental and spiritual well-being of individuals.

22. Establishing a center there, the entity came under the influence that aided in many manners, hindered in others, in the activities by the teacher in the ‘city in the hills.’

23. Those were periods when many changes were made; thus indicating the interest of the entity in those influences from varied lands upon the activities of individuals under a different environment. That as expressed in the present environmental and hereditary forces still has a part in the experience mentally of the entity, in soul or mental or material developments of individuals. This brought the closer associations of the entity in group as well as individual unfoldment.

24. It may be said that the entity was a tradesman and also a philosopher through that period of experience.

25. The name then was Astrada.

26. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian and Abyssinian land. For, the entity was among those peoples that were in the land to which the Priest was banished, during those periods of turmoil and strife in the land.

27. Becoming associated with the activities of the Priest, the entity returned to Egypt when there was the recall. And thus began that period of activity in which the entity became a part of that group attempting to aid in the preservation of the teachings of the various groups represented in that period of change wrought in that particular period.

28. Thus the study of the Atlanteans, the periods of rebellion, the periods of the interchange between the teachers and lecturers from the land of Said and from the Gobi land, were a part of the entity’s activities through that particular period.

29. Though the entity saw much of the upheavals, much of the changes wrought, the entity kept rather aloof, and able to be used or to use the various groups as a means for the gathering of its data, as well as the education and the directing of those who became exponents of same.

30. The name then was Armeda.

31. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, during those periods just before the greater upheaval or the first destruction of that land.

32. The entity was among the children of the Law of One, and there the entity set its ideal and purpose to the keeping of those peoples that represented the pure in body as well as the pure in purpose.

33. In those periods the entity had ideals that are the basis upon which much of the latent and manifested desires are based in the present, as well as purposes, and objections - too - oft.

34. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, - that to which it may attain, and how:

35. First, know thyself. Know thy ideal, spiritually, mentally, materially. They each have their part in that as may be accomplished.

36. Study to show thyself approved unto they ideal, rightly dividing - divining - the words of truth. Keep self unspotted from condemnation - of self as well as of others.

37. As ye would be forgiven, so forgive others. As ye find that thy hands may do, do with thy might.

38. In the field of literature, in the field of the gathering of data, in the field of distribution of same, the entity may gain the more.

39. Ready for questions.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Mrs. […] and I returned home last Saturday after a month’s absence.

The Life Reading as of Jan. 11th., 1943 was forwarded to me while away. Was too busy to acknowledge same at an earlier date.

As I have found in earlier readings for myself and for others, it is necessary to clarify the truth of the message here and there, in order to get the full import of the diagnosis and advice given.

I believe I fully understand the reading and shall be glad of an opportunity to have some verification or clarification later when I hope Mrs. […] and I may call on you.

Work keeps coming in and keeps me very busy. I am well beyond my leaving time, but now hope and expect that before the end of February we will leave here.

With business enroute in Michigan, Canada, Boston and New York it may be well into March before we can get to Virginia Beach.

Anticipating the pleasure of again meeting you and thanking you for the reading, I remain,

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

I am returning today “MY LIFE and TEACHINGS” by Jacob Beilhart. This book you will remember Mrs. […] borrowed from you when we were in Virginia Beach.

I was able to finish it within a month, but Mrs. […] has just finished it, and I am delivering it as soon as possible.

I added my red markings in several places as I wished to copy certain sentences or paragraphs for future interest. The book was interesting although a great deal of repetition, due perhaps to the manner in which the book was written by the author.

I am glad to note that my cousin Mr. [3323] of …, Michigan; has a date arranged for a reading thru you on October 28th. I shall be glad to co-operate with you both at that time.

I trust that your Son Hugh Lynn is well and that everything pertaining to his advancement in the Army is progressing, and that his Wife and Son are getting along happily. Mrs. […] joins me with best wishes to you and your family and with full appreciation for the loan of the book which is going forward today.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

It is my understanding that members may ask questions from time to time, and so receive answers through you from the other side.

If I am right in this, I would like to ask the following questions, “Are grapes and the juice of grapes properly extracted one of the best healing foods, breaking down toxic growth, allowing NATURE to complete the healing of the physical body?”

It would seem to me “that the best evidence of individuality in our present phase of life is the fact that thru life readings we can verify prior incarnations. Therefore it is reasonable TRUTH that if we have an individual past life, we can and should have a future life?”

What is the TRUTH regarding life atoms in the physical as it applies to healing the physical thru hypnotic or suggestive influence?

The TRUTH concerning these three questions will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Mr. [1942]

Thanks for yours of the 26th - while cannot properly give you as complete an answer to your questions as you would like, without a lot of research in the files, will give you my personal opinion on same from what have absorbed from the information presented on these subjects.

1st. Yes Fresh Grape Juice properly extracted is one of the best healing foods for any intestinal disorder, and does reduce intestinal toxic poisons.

2nd. The fact that many can prove their having lived before, through the Life readings, should be proof of life after death, in no uncertain terms. Personally feel were we as concerned with where we came from - as to where we are going, we would get a very different slant on the whole subject.

3rd. Just as when an Atom is broken up - it forms a shadow, that eventually forms an atom again, so the atomic structure of the body is relative to all other atoms, bodies, hence suggestion has an influence for good according to the suggestion made, and the purpose in the 1st place of the structure of the body, thus giving the healing power to the suggestions reaction upon the body.

Hope this briefly answers your questions. Have you seen Coronet for Sept? Has an article regard the work that has snowed us under with requests. This with the book has made it hard to keep up with letters.

This pamphlet is very interesting, but the information that comes thru Edgar Cayce is mixed in with information received gathered from another source, that I am at a loss to segregate.

Can you tell me where the other source of data or information originated or is it all taken from passages in the Bible?

Will appreciate anything you can say, and I assume you have read the booklet referred too?

Have you only ONE case study of Arthritis? It would seem to me that out of hundreds of cases which have been handled by Mr. Cayce, you would have several that have been written up for distribution. I would like to get single copies of as many as I can.

Regarding the Period of Uhjltd item, would you be kind enough to advise me how the information obtained in the writing was obtained.

Dear Mr. [1942]

I have yours of the 5th addressed to Mr. Bro.

As you know our great trouble has been, Mr. [1942], our inability to get the data on the various troubles and conditions compiled. First it was owing to our lack of ability to pay the ones we might have had to get out this material. Now it is the inability to obtain one who is capable of getting this material together, unless it could be supervised by someone like Hugh Lynn, or a physician.

At the last Board meeting it was proposed that we might have a physician as a personal help and one who might look after much of this part of the work. Yes, there have been thousands of cases, but only a few of those have been compiled.

The readings on Uhjltd were obtained just as other information. The first was obtained in a Life reading, which is supposed to have been myself. Then subsequent readings were taken on that individual period.

I am sorry to tell you that Mr. Bro is not with us as he left shortly after the Congress to take a church.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thanks for your letters of the 8th and 11th, and note that the Annual meeting was satisfactory, and that a larger meeting place is necessary. That speaks well for the enthusiasm which is always necessary to progress.

What we are especially interested in is the information contained in the readings regarding health, so that we can pass them along to those who are suffering from disease that the average Doctors seem helpless to remove from those who are afflicted.

I have a case right now (and always have many) of a lady who is bed ridden with arthritis, and it is very valuable information to have on hand, to KNOW that your readings have CURED these apparently helpless cases.

Therefore I would say that instead of a larger meeting place it would be much better to have the past records brought up to date.

I would think the meeting place could be arranged very easily by renting suitable space in which the ANNUAL meetings could be held, and postpone a Building Investment until after the War is over and Building conditions become normal. It may be that you cannot get suitable help to do the compiling that is so far behind, and that this work also will have to be postponed until after the war or until your Son Lynn returns home.

Excess enthusiasm usually gets people into hot water, and if you put the question up to those who have the matter of a Building in mind, as to whether they should compile first and build later I think they will agree that compiling is essential to progress.

You KNOW that you are giving to the present generation DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT from a higher source, therefore such advice should be passed on to those who are interested in helping others. It is not possible for such people to go to Virginia Beach and scan the past records, as that is a costly way to get the information.

You can build up a good income to the Association by having your records complete, and sell the copies at a proper figure.

Personally I vote against a larger meeting place until the compiling is finished, and so long as you can rent suitable meeting place I suggest that it be rented.

I want to thank you very much for yours of the 25th. I am sorry not to have answered sooner, but have been away on a little visit, trying to get some rest. But I came home feeling somewhat worse than I did when I left, but am hoping to feel better soon and be able to get back to real work.

Yes, we are very much in need of getting the information out for people’s use. Our great trouble is, at the present time we haven’t even the space to put research workers on this part of the work, and we have even had to rent space outside for the carrying on of the work at the present time.

We do need this part of the work done, but it is impossible, and impracticable for us to build until after the war. This we know, but we are in hopes that we can be getting it in shape, and when it does become practical, we can add at least a little bit more to the building, so that it will give us better quarters, and we will be able to take care of extracting.

We know that we have to wait until Hugh Lynn is home, or at least until we are in better shape, but we are trying to be very matter-of-fact, and try to meet each problem as it comes along.
