1. EC: Send this wire to [195]. Someone in the household has watch still in their possession. One in the house at present.

R1. 12/29/25 EC wired, also wrote: “I didn’t know what to say or do about the rdg. you suggested. You know I have some aversion to taking rdgs. of this kind, though I’d like mighty well to be of help if possible. The wire that was sent you this morning was gotten on the end of another rdg., and it simply gave, ‘Send this wire to [195]’, and that was the message we sent you.”

R2. 12/31/25 Mr. [195] wrote: “Rec’d your rdg. and wire… Thanks. The information is hard to line up with the facts, for on the morning of your rdg., at 11:15 here, [182] and […] were with me here at the factory, and the man who cleans the apt. was here also. He takes care of the fires and furnaces at the factory. Sarah […] who lives with them has been in Fla. for a month… If you can secure additional information, such as a health rdg. for Mrs. […] and ask any questions you think will locate watch, it would be greatly appreciated.”

R3. 1/6/26 EC’s letter: “I don’t know why we got what we did… don’t think we could get it as you suggest, unless Mrs. […] were present or we knew just where she was at a given time, and that I know would be hard to get [since you say she and [182] are now on a trip].”

B2. 12/25/25 He wrote: “We are doing a little work at factory in preparation to taking inventory.

“We had quite a thrilling time last Monday. Our car was stolen at 6:00 p.m., and at midnight some lawyers brought a man up to my partner [182]‘s apt. He had taken car and had been drinking, colliding with another car, wrecking both cars. He was thrown into jail but lawyers got him out. Being friendly to [182] the lawyers brought him up to [182]‘s apt. and tried to smooth matters over for their client.

“[182]‘s wife […] had just rec’d a beautiful diamond wrist watch and had taken it off and put it on the dresser in the East bedroom. When the lawyers came with the other man […] went into West bedroom leaving wrist watch. When she went to get watch in morning it had disappeared.

“She is all broken up over the loss and quite sick - and [182] suggested maybe you could suggest some way in a rdg. for her relief or how the watch could be located.

“I thought over two ways to ask the question - one with a special diagnosis for cure of Mrs. […]‘s nervousness, and the other for the rdg. describing the happenings in [182]‘s apt. and asking for the location of watch at present time.

“Will you kindly try out in your own wording of the question

• along the line outlined, using that which you think would give the better result. If you do, please wire collect the location, etc. I recall that at one time you advised that in a rdg. - you suggested where some lost article could be found.”
