This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of December, 1925, in accordance with request made by Mr. M. B. Wyrick.

Time of Reading 12:05 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. Bosque County, Texas.

1. GC: You will have before you the well being drilled on the lands of Madison Byron Wyrick, in Bosque County, Texas. You will give the condition of operations at the present time and tell what the operators may do to remove these obstructions and how they would go about same, and you will answer any questions I may ask you regarding these.

2. EC: Yes, we have these operations here. We have had these before. Now, that necessary to carry out the operations to the successful termination, or to bringing in of production here, (which we will find will occur) would be first to run tools and remove the cavings on the sand pump or baler, and in doing so we will find that the handle or plunger in the bailer will be removed from the leaning position at the present time, and that with the slip socket and the grapple hook in same, this may be removed from the hole, and this should be done in a little while, when all tools for same on ground and the cavings removed. The production, then, under same, we find will be reached inside the seventeen (17) feet. Then, that necessary for the bringing in of the well; first remove those cavings at present on top of the obstruction. In so doing, the handle or plunger will be brought to such a position that the slip socket will gather the ends in and same may be removed, see?

3. This same one whom we have given as to follow that direction of in the operations will prove the faithful one to carry this to the successful termination. Depend upon that, for we will find, as given, large productions in this operation. Be not faint hearted nor give up, for the production will flow from this operation in quantities greater than has ever been expected or anticipated, and the returns from same will be more than commensurate with the time, patience and money spent in same.

4. We are through with this reading.

My dear Mr. Wyrick:-

Glad to have yours of the 24th, and it would appear from the reading, as you will find enclosed, that it will be possible for Pat to get hold of this same pump or baler, after he has run the tools a few times. I certainly am in hopes that this is the true state of conditions. I think this indicates that it would be best to try to get this out in this manner, rather than drilling same up, for that’s usually a long, tedious job. I certainly am in hopes they’ll be able though to accomplish this without very much trouble.

I certainly thank you for sending me the reports, also for the copy of information that has been gotten from other sources [4905-49 Reports]. I’m sure the amazing thing in this to you is how near they tally. It certainly just makes one wonder more and more. I certainly hope this man is correct, also that the information we have given proves alright.

P.S. I’m enclosing you a letter (which is of course confidential), but I’m sure will give you an insight into what is taking place in the mind of my friend, Mr. [900]. [See 900-176 Reports especially Mr. [900]‘s letter of 12/21/25 in re Jews, Christmas, etc.] I’d like to have your opinion on this. Of course this will be treated as confidential, as I think I know pretty well your normal attitude toward people of that race.

R2. 12/30/25 M. B. Wyrick’s letter to EC:

My dear Cayce,

Hope you had an enjoyable Christmas. Received the health reading and it checked very closely with my condition so far as known. Dr. Saxmann gave me an adjustment after checking with his instrument, and he checked exactly with the vertebra defects given in the reading.

Closed operations at the well Christmas and have not started again. I fear we are at the end of our resources and plugged beyond human ability to clear. You may find some way to remove the obstruction. What do you think of Acid - What kind and how much - how long to remain in hole. Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year. M. B. W.

R3. 12/30/25 G. C. Martin’s letter to Mr. Wyrick:

TELEGRAM OIL COMPANY

Morgan, Tex.

Dear Mr. Wyrick:

It is still cold here. The ground is covered with sleet, with forecast rising temperature, so we will be ready to start tomorrow. The men are all here since Christmas day ready to work.

We have had three men scouting the country, Cannon Bros. of Dallas and San Antonio. They gave out but little information, said they are trying to trace certain formations or folds thru this part of the country.

Charlie Martin thinks they are out for Humble of Houston. The Humble have had scouts in here since Sept. They have indicated that when they are thru their work that their Co. will want a block to drill on. Said they had been directed to me as being the man to get the leases up for their Co. They are young men, looked to be 28 to 35 years old and seemed to be full of pep. Said they will see me again within a few days.

I had Pat up here at the house all Monday afternoon, discussing our affairs. He said it would be impossible for him to work now without getting the pay (could wait a while for half of it). He and Leach have an offer to go to Cross Plains into a shallow field at $12.00 per day with a 1/32 of all the production they get in the block or 1/64 each. Pat said tell you whatever you do to not let this hole be plugged until it is drilled thru for in his opinion if it is drilled, we will all have our reward and that is we should have to shut down now on account of funds that soon as he is in that shallow field five or six months that then he will return here and do it all for interest. Pat has three children in school in Austin and paying that expense and paying his house out there it takes all of his wages. Then said if he takes the tools and casing they would have to sell them or borrow the money.

He has not been able to get a picture of the pump so that he can’t tell just what is best to do about this job. Our drilling cable is bad at the bottom. We have cut off one whole round over the rig and about 300 feet more should come off. We have a big car fuel oil that will run most another month. Say by the way we can cut the 300 feet off and still have enough for this fishing job but not enough to reach bottom.

Since I started this letter, the sun has shown out and bids for a fair day tomorrow.

Is there another 100 acre lease to be assigned to W. H. Lyman and if so where do you prefer I select it from the block?

Looks as tho I was answering yours at the same time you were writing the letter. I also have yours of 31st with the Cayce reading. Yes I think Pat is the man to remove the trouble, but at the same time both towers are running.

I have talked to Pat since I got the reading he says he can clean the hole, but is and will be a hard job, but he can do the work. He is of the opinion that the pump is across the hole and not in it either end. So is not running tools on top of plunger, for it is over in a cove, see.

The weather is bad and roads heavy today, but it is the thing for farms and ranches too.

I can only hope for doing better soon with things here as the New Year rolls on by.

Dear Mr. Wyrick:-

Yours of the 30th, with enclosure, was somewhat delayed in getting to me. I guess all the mails have been so clogged up that it has gotten them delayed it seems the last two or three we have gotten our readings kind of mixed up on the well; that is, we got some information and it would be in the mails and then would get caught with the request that we give some special information. I certainly can appreciate the position regarding the finance. I’ve been through it. I’m in hopes, however, that you will be able to handle this in some way, for I feel very sure that is you are able to overcome this that it isn’t going to be long before you’ll have a real producing well, and I’m in hopes you’ll be able to get these men to see this too, especially “Pat” for I judge from what was given in the reading [4905-51] that he is the one to handle the situation. So I’m truly in hopes that we’ll have some good reports from there very soon.

Now, don’t you ever get down in the Eastern part of the country? Don’t forget where we are! We’re a long ways out of the way but we hope we’re not so far that you can’t get down to see us.

Let us hear from you whenever possible. I’m certainly glad to know that you’re feeling pretty well physically yourself and that things check up pretty well on the way you feel. We are all fairly well. I guess I just EAT too much. I’ve been in bad shape for a few days but I believe I’m going to just quit that kind of foolishness! We all say that though when we’re feeling good. Please remember me to the folks there and to Dr. Robert and Dr. Harriet when you see them. Do you ever hear from George? Let us hear from you whenever you have the opportunity.
