This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of July, 1939, in accordance with request made by the friend - Mr. M. R. Brown, new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [1787].

Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Kentucky.

1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1967], and those conditions which surround this body; the attempt of those who would be a means or channel for help for this entity.

3. The conditions, as we find, are serious; they have advanced in such a measure that - even if there is the preserving of reason AND the sight - portions of the organs will be involved.

4. This arises partially from a prenatal condition, combined with an infectious force or influence that has arisen in the system.

5. Then, these are the conditions as we find indicated:

6. The blood supply becomes very much involved, as also the organs that supply the means or channel through which this is generated for the system.

7. Of course, the lymph is a source through and in which the greater infection spreads, or produces destructive forces in those portions of the system.

8. As we find, these may be materially helped. It will require a great deal of care and precaution.

9. Then, as an antiseptic, rather than even the other forces (for these tend to become inflammatory conditions through the very action of the properties, that arise from the forms of the drug used at present as the solution for the allaying of infection), we would use a weakened solution of Atomidine; the proportions being half-commercial strength, - that is, using half commercial strength Atomidine and half distilled water, - for an antiseptic on the face and head, and those portions of the throat.

10. This about the ear and throat, of course, that is the more severe, is not only an attack upon the organs of the sensory system but the delicate tissue about the side of the head, as well as those infections to portions of the brain forces themselves.

11. After the use of the antiseptic solution just indicated, we would then use a compound made from Plantain, - which may be found about the place, you see. This after being cleansed or washed would be bruised very thoroughly, and mixed with an equal quantity (in weight) of thick cream, - not sour cream but SWEET cream. Let this come to a boil, and then apply same on gauze and then to the broken tissue or the tissue where there is the inflammation about the place, see?

12. Also we would use high colonic irrigations to assist in alleviating the circulatory system through the alimentary canal of poisons that will naturally be carried into the circulation through those applications indicated, as well as from the general condition in the system.

13. It is necessary to use a sedative or a narcotic at times, - and when necessary to use such, we would use that which is of a hypnotic nature, rather than of the narcotic so much. While a hypnotic is a narcotic, it is not as habit-forming as codeine or morphine.

14. Do these, and after there has been the use of these for at least two to three weeks, we would give further instructions.

15. Do not eat meats of any great quantity. Fowl, that is very clean or that has been purged, may be taken, and a little fish would be very well at times provided it is VERY fresh. But mostly use the leafy vegetables as the diet. Plenty of buttermilk.

16. Keep the eliminations above normal, - that is, at least two movements of the alimentary canal daily, or the activity of the liver and kidneys and spleen should be kept in a state of high eliminations.

17. And, above all, PRAY! Those who are about the body, use, rely upon the spiritual forces. For the prayer of the righteous shall save the sick.

18. Know that all strength, all healing of every nature is the changing of the vibrations from within, - the attuning of the divine within the living tissue of a body to Creative Energies. This alone is healing. Whether it is accomplished by the use of drugs, the knife or what not, it is the attuning of the atomic structure of the living cellular force to its spiritual heritage.

19. Then, in the prayer of those, - live day by day in the same manner as ye pray - if ye would bring assistance and help for this body.

20. We are through for the present.

R1. 4/4/40 Mr. M. R. Brown’s letter: “The boy whom you treated here [1967] has been helped so much, the writer is raising the money by popular subscription to have you try to help Mr. [2183].”

R2. 4/25/40 Mr. M. R. Brown’s letter: “Enclosing application and money order covering same for [2183], …, Kentucky for reading on date given in application. The writer will try to get [1967] to come in and give you a full report as to his condition. I was talking to him several days ago as to his condition and he said he was lots better and could now hear the church bells from his home and had not been able to do so for five or six years. He looks like one in perfect health weighs 175 or 180 pounds, but as soon as possible I will get him in my office and mail report to you in his own words.

“Sincerely hope you may be able to do as much for Mr. [2183] as you have for [1967]…”

R3. 4/40 Letter from [1967] in his own writing: “I feel a lot better, but I still have rheumatism in my right shoulder and in my hips and I have stomach burns due to gas on my stomach.

“My head is a lot better.

“My ears don’t run any hardly.

“I have gained 40 lbs. in weight. I weigh 200 lbs. now.”

R4. 5/3/40 EC’s letter: “Thank you for yours of recent date regards how you are feeling - if we can be of further help to you in suggesting how you may clear up any troubles with yourself, will be glad to try.

“Glad you are better. All the praise for such is to a higher source than I - to the Giver of all Good and perfect gifts.”

B1. 7/13/39 Letter from M. R. Brown to EC: “I am writing you in the interest of a young friend of mine, [1967] has had an ear trouble since two years of age. His ears have been running at times all his life, and a few months ago he lost his hearing entirely in one ear, the right, and he now has some kind of growth in his left ear. We have heard of some of the cases you have been the means of affecting a cure, and as [1967] is without funds, his friends have turned over to the writer $20.00 to be used for him in the hope that you may be able to do something for him.

“I wish to impress upon you the urgency of his case and ask that you communicate with him as soon as possible, sending form for making application for membership in your association. The local doctors advise that he will loose his eyesight and his mind in a short time if some effective treatment is not found soon. Mr. [1787], …, Kentucky, a member of your association has donated very liberally to this cause and feels that you may be of great assistance to [1967].

“Hoping to hear from you soon…”

“P.S. You may address your communications to [1967], or M. R. Brown, …, Kentucky.”
