EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2], - this we have had before. In physical responses the body shows some improvements, even from that we have last had. With the application of the violet applicator to the eye proper we will find that there will be more response from the optic centers proper, and the relief gradually through the stimulating of the circulation to remove those pressures ON same as cause the neurotic or the neuralgia like condition as exists there. The condition IN same may be properly termed that of the neurotic condition, produced by pressure on optic nerve back of eye proper, from sedimentation in system and lack of coordination in the eliminations, first producing neuritis in the general system, settling - from strain on eye - by the direct rays of the character of lights. Now, with the application of those vibrations from the radium REACTION in lens active WITH violet ray IN the nerve centers, WITH the stimulation in the system as to keep UP eliminations, from vapor baths - especially those of the nature that come from the use of an alternation between the iodine and witchhazel, as makes for a change in the circulatory forces, especially in lymph, that will produce better drainage; with the manipulative forces to carry stimulated circulation, will aid the body in GAINING better use of the optic reflexes. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Can these treatments be continued at home? (A) If preparation is made for same, these may be continued at home.
-
(Q) Should prescription be continued? (A) In the present, yes.
-
(Q) Outline diet. (A) The DIET has been very good, as is indicated by the general physical health of the body. We would not alter much from the diet, save as a change - which is better for the system than becoming too tired of any one thing, see? We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 10/28/30 Dr. Jacob H. Farrand’s letter: “Mr. [2] called at my office today - very pleased to see the change your treatment has brought about in his condition. He did not have any particular instructions as to the treatment you wanted followed out, so I gave treatment to relieve pressure from nerve and increase elimination which was indicated in my analysis.”
R2. 11/10/30 EC’s reply advised continuing the general treatments which had been outlined in Mr. [2]‘s readings.
R3. 11/10/30 Mr. [2]‘s letter: “We saw Mr. Mohr and he is going to try and help me get the violet ray… [10/31/30: “I am writing Mr. Blumenthal asking him to let me come back to the hospital for a little while longer. I will gladly pay him as soon as I am able to work, or when we can sell the house at a reasonable price.”] I have written two letters to Mr. Blumenthal but he does not answer me. Was he at Virginia Beach last Sunday? If you see him ask him why he don’t answer my letters. I think he could at least answer and tell me something.”
R4. 11/17/30 EC’s letter: “Mr. Blumenthal, of course, has been under some very straining ordeals during the financial depression, and possibly can’t do just what he would like to do. Of course, when we haven’t to do with, we just can’t do as we would like to do. I know it’s his desire that we keep on with the work there, provided we can make it take care of itself just as near as possible.”
R5. 11/24/30 Dr. Farrand’s letter: “Mr. [2] shows some improvement and thinks he will do better after he gets the fume bath working properly.”
R6. 12/15/30 Mr. [2]‘s letter: “The questions I would like to have asked are as follows: Should I still continue medicine? Are my treatments properly given. Should there be any change in treatments? Could radium lens be worn two hours instead of one? I would have written sooner but everybody is busy most of the time and I can’t write myself…
“Dr. Lydic called to see me about two weeks ago. He was in a hurry and didn’t stay long but said he would be back to see me.”
R7. 12/22/30 See 2-20, Mr. [2]‘s final reading.
