GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as [2011].
-
In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, respecting this entity, many unusual associations - considered from the present environs - are indicated as to be a part of the experience, as well as that which HAS been the experience through the sojourns in the earth.
-
But in giving the interpretations as we find them, this is chosen that the experience may be a helpful one; thus bringing to the consciousness or awareness of the entity the reality in purpose and desire, and that it is not by chance, but that there may be the real manifestation with each soul for the filling of the purposes for which the soul enters.
-
The faults and the virtues may be given. These, too, depend upon what is the ideal set as the standard by the entity in interpreting of same.
-
These are chosen with that ideal which is set in Him, and thus we find these as indicated in the experience, in the form of that as may be called the judging from the astrological or astral sojourns as well as from the material activities in the material plane, - thus being a composite of these influences:
-
One who cannot stand ROUTINE, and yet must conform to a great deal if the greater experience would be had. Not that it doesn’t bring its turmoils, just as the desire for change or to be a roving individual, seeking new scenes, new thrills, new associations, new activities, ever. And these then MUST be tempered with not only an ideal as ritual, but with those forces and influences as would make the entity not as a ne’er-do-well, but consistent in every phase of its experience.
-
The entity cannot stand to be disappointed in others.
-
Then, never allow it to be said in any phase of thy associations or activities that others will be disappointed in thyself.
-
From the very nature and the liking of change, oft the entity has been called fickle or insecure; and yet capable of and desiring the thrill of a great love experience in the material life.
-
Let it be based, too, upon spiritual concepts if you would know or experience or have this great love to be a reality.
-
A lover of outdoors, of nature, of anything pertaining to athletic activities. Thus the physical forces of the body will be greatly improved if there will be a designated period or activity in which exercises of every nature are taken in the open.
-
Keep close to nature to understand self, as well as others, the better.
-
The natural inclination is toward, or to be a lover of certain types or characters of music; and dependent upon the moods as to the types at the time.
-
Have an ideal in the music as well as in the morals, as well as in the spiritual associations, as well as in material aspects.
-
Do not demand of others that ye are not willing to give thyself; and demand ONLY of others that ye are willing to concede and live to in thine own experience.
-
And this attitude, and this lived, will make for much of peace and harmony throughout the experience.
-
As to the sojourns, - these we find numerous, or apparently sudden in some experiences or periods, and far in others; and, as indicated, quite varied, - as will be the activities and experiences in this present sojourn.
-
But know that the sojourn is purposeful. Life and its manifestations are one. Do not be impatient with others, nor so live or act that others may become impatient with thee.
-
In the appearances, then:
-
Before this we find the entity was in the present land during those activities known as the Revolution.
-
Then entity was among those who were not so much the Confederates as the consorters with, or close friends of, Andre’.
-
Thus the entity was of those individuals who were not so highly thought of in some quarters and respects; and yet the entity was not thinking or seeking or seeing that which would be the outcome of such an association or affiliation; feeling or thinking only of the moment.
-
Let this be rather as an ensample or experience, and not let the same character of influence or force be the ruling in thy experience in the present.
-
The name then was Cambra Cyclon.
-
Before that we find the entity was in the Roman activity, when there were many of those peoples seeking favor with those who were in authority.
-
And the entity was among those in the position to whom it was given the ability to choose for favors, or special favors during court occasions. For the entity was closely affiliated with the ruler during those experiences when the tests of many individuals were made, as to the faith and patience tried through the experiences of the games without.
-
There we find the entity was a judge of the athletic activities in the fields of sport, - those especially in which there was the race for the favor of the hand or the fan or the apple, as would be symbolized in the experience during those activities.
-
Hence we find something of the influences that are a portion of the entity in the present, and yet were for a purpose and desire, - bringing a material experience in the activities of the entity in the present sojourn.
-
The name then was Cecila, - and the entity gained, the entity lost; gained when there were the considerations of groups or masses or individuals for their material as well as their spiritual influences in the lives of individuals, but when turned only to self, self-exaltation of self’s desires, these became stumblingblocks in the experience of the entity.
-
The abilities in judgements, especially as to accounts or as to individual activities of the entity in the present, arise much from that Roman sojourn.
-
Before that we find the entity was in the Norse land, during those periods when there were activities for spreading.
-
Then entity then was in the opposite sex, and making for activities in which great undertakings were a part of the experience in the building of ships, in the searching for new lands and strange sights.
-
Thus the innate longing in the present activities of the entity for new scenes, new fields, new endeavors, new thrills, new activities; and still that which makes for a sociability with the opposite sex, and yet doubting most of them - from its own experience.
-
The name then was Zebun.
-
Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land, among the Natives who were in favor with the Young King, - and making for an activity in which there were the attempts of the entity - through the counsel of those who had been made as a part of the Young King’s group of advisors - it brought about some disturbances in the experience.
-
And these also made for those influences in the experience of the entity where there were the attempts for the usage of the prestige as gained as to be a part of the experience.
-
Failing in same, then there came the desire to be sent as an emissary or representative of those various conditions in portions of the land; and gaining same through the associations with the King.
-
The name then was Amre-elaar.
-
As to the abilities of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:
-
Those things that have been a part of the experience become then either those influences that are to be stepping-stones or stumbling-stones in the building up of the experience of the entity in the present.
-
Then there becomes the need of those influences and forces as to make for security in the building of Creative Forces.
-
Thus as we find, while there may be a period in which there may be the activities in making a career for self, the home may be the greater career.
-
Choose wisely, though, in making its choice of a mate. For a disappointment in same would bring disturbances that would require a great deal of fortitude to meet - if there were disappointments in same.
-
Study then first to know the spiritual relations with Creative Forces. Act in those ways and manners to be a manifestation of thy ideals in thy relationships with thy fellow man, and in so doing ye may bring the better experiences, the safer journey, greater harmony and peace in the activities in this experience.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there a change of occupation in my life soon? (A) This depends upon choices as to be made regarding the mate.
Choose that one who may give security not only materially but the greater faith and confidence in, yet offer the opportunity for greater changes in thy material experience, - that is, the ability to travel, the ability to be in many different scenes and places and activities; for these offer an outlet for the entity.
- (Q) Which man would bring the greatest happiness to me in marriage, the one living in Florida or the one living in Newport News, Va.? (A) The one you love the best! and that would give the opportunities for that as indicated!
Choose this yourself.
- We are through for the present.

R1. 9/26/39 [2011]‘s letter to HLC:
…, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I received the Life Reading yesterday.
I thought my past sojourns were most interesting & having how some of my predominant characteristics were developed in the past. As to my present life here and now, I will confess I was much disappointed, because I did not seem to find any answer to my problems at all. Only my present characteristics were given.
I don’t know why I came back again to this life. What my purpose is here and what I can do to fulfill it.
My first question asked was omitted. What is my real life work? I had hoped for some suggestions as to my place in this life, that I might work toward that end. I will admit I am still as puzzled as ever.
My work has been constant routine for 13 years in very unpleasant environment. I have really done my very best. I know there must be a change for me and I want to make that change the right one.
Really Mr. Cayce I am not such an unpleasant person as I may sound tonight, but please understand what I mean.
I regret that I could not be there for the reading for perhaps you could have gotten me more clearly. Although I do think it remarkable to be able to give a reading during the absence of the subject.
Enclosed find check for $5.00 which I agreed to send on receipt of reading.
I expect to write Mrs. [264] soon. I have not heard from her since seeing her at the beach. If she would like to see my reading I would be glad to send her a copy.
Sincerely - [2011]
R2. 10/12/39 HLC’s letter to [2011]:
Dear Miss [2011]
I have your letter of September twenty-six, and the reading given for you on September twenty-third before me.
I wish that I could talk with you in person about this reading, but since this is impossible, I hope you will give me the opportunity to clarify any parts of it about which you may have question.
I note from your letter that you feel that the reading does not seem to apply directly to your problem. I hope that you will make a careful study of this information, for I believe that it contains the answer to all of your questions presented to me.
In the first place, how accurate is it in the analysis of your characteristics, both good and bad. If it is accurate, and by studying yourself, you can see and understand these characteristics better, then without question it is valuable as a document which would help you to know yourself a little better.
Let me illustrate just one point in this connection. You will note on page two, the opening sentence of the second paragraph [2011-1, Par. 7], “One who cannot stand routine and yet must conform to a great deal if the greater experience will be had.” There is indicated here an inner subconscious rebellion against routine, yet you evidently have chosen a plane of experience for this life that will bring you under a great deal of routine. The recognition of this, the realization that you have chosen this for yourself and need it in your development, will go a long way toward aiding you in turning this attitude toward constructive channels. Such connections as bring routine activities must be made into opportunities.
In the various appearances which are outlined, you will note both good and bad urges which are analyzed. Study these carefully in order that you may balance and overcome the destructive urges which are indicated and may make the most of those urges which indicate mental and spiritual development. You have had some difficult experiences. The urges are conflicting and many of them detrimental and destructive. These must be balanced and overcome in the present. Only by recognizing them and undertaking a definite plan to meet them, will bring the results you desire in this life.
The latter portion of the reading [2011-1, Par. 43, 44] indicates that the home is a greater career for you. It is very specific on the subject as to the type of person with whom you would be the happiest. You will note the way this is put in question one [2011-1, Par. 47-A]. Breaking this down we get something like the following: select an individual who will give you an opportunity for travel and move from one place to another, rather than one who will remain in one place. Choose such an individual not for material considerations alone, but for having put greater faith and confidence in the character. It is indicated that you may have some difficulty in this matter, due to the conflicting urges from various periods and you should be very careful in making such a selection.
May I suggest that you may find it helpful to make out a series of questions on various parts of your reading and send them to me. I believe I can clear up a number of points in it for you and I will be glad to undertake this if you care to have me do so.
With kindest regards to both you and your mother.
Sincerely yours, HLC [hc:dj]
R3. 10/22/39 [2011]‘s letter to HLC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Your kind letter of Oct. 12th received, and I do appreciate your wanting to help me understand my reading better.
I am glad to say that I did get a much clearer interpretation of it before your letter came and a much better one after your letter.
I had been searching for direct statements, and they are all indirect.
I am going to tell you my understanding of the reading as I now see it, and if when you receive this letter you can tell me if I have missed anything and if I have made a mistake in the interpretation. Please let me know about this.
In your letter you ask me how accurate is is in the analysis of my characteristics both good and bad. I find it entirely correct in all my characteristics except for one thing. On page two [2011-1, Par. 12] it says a lover of outdoors, of nature, of anything pertaining to athletic activities. I do like out of doors & nature, but dislike athletics, and have no interest in them whatever.
I do think it quite remarkable that all characteristics except this one are correct.
My great fault in past was selflessness. I was determined to have my own way even if it was against spiritual laws for me to do so.
These last 13 yrs in my life have taught me much. I have had so much to over come & it has been hard. I have had to learn how to get along with people, and I AM learning it now, after having made things so hard for myself at first. I have found out that only love conquers. If I can make myself love that person, all prejudice, all things they have done to hurt me, can be entirely overcome. I am doing a good job now, and have just one more thing to overcome, when that is done, I feel I shall be through in my present environment. I shall be ready for something else. I must do a good job here in this life so I won’t have so much to do over.
To go back to the reading. Yes I do understand that the home is my greater career. I do hope I select the proper mate, as I have been so particular all my life about selecting just the right person. It has been hard to settle down to dull routine when some of my past was so eventful & exciting. I hope all the good things shall come to me in this life when I have gained them. I have always known I lived in Rome, and Egyptian things are a fascination. Enclosed find check. How much have I omitted in my interpretation?
Sincerely [2011]
R4. 1/10/40 HLC’s letter to [2011]:
Dear Miss [2011]:
Your last letter indicated a much better grasp of the information contained in your life reading. I hope that you will continue to study it, and if at any time points arise that seem to require interpretation let us hear from you.
With all good wishes for the New Year,
Sincerely, [signed] Hugh Lynn Cayce
R5. 8/7/40 [2011]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I certainly did enjoy my afternoon visit with you while I was at the beach last week. In fact, the time passed too quickly, as there were so many things to talk about which I am most interested.
Something which our conversation touched on has given me an idea. The idea has grown and now I am going to write you about it.
This is a very unusual request. Something that would mean a lot to me and my family if the request could be granted. Several times I thought I would not ask it but now I am, and you could let me know if you will do it. I know you can, you are the only person that could.
For years my father has indulged in drinking. These times are mostly periodical. As a result he has ruined his life and our happiness as well. He is getting old now & has not changed.
I will not go into detail however, but it occurred to me, as you can make anyone do anything you want them to, could you influence his mind to the extent that he would stop entirely? You say it is wrong to do such things, but in this case, it would NOT be wrong, it would be a great blessing.
Would you want a picture of him? Would you do it, and also what would be the fee?
Hoping I am not asking too much.
Your admirer - [2011]
R6. 8/14/40 EC’s letter to [2011]:
Dear Miss [2011]:
Thank you for yours of the 7th - certainly was very nice to meet and talk with you in person, Mrs. [264] whom I believe you met here at the Beach is here, and was here yesterday with a Dr. and his wife. She is looking fine and says she is better than she has been in years.
Can and do appreciate your feelings in the matter of your Father - and if there is one thing that I know by experience, it is just such a situation in my own family experience with my own Father, and would and will be glad to do what I can, but can not do fully as you ask for having to work each day with appointments would only cross matters up. Would have to leave off other work for several days and devote my entire time to just that, and that as you know would be practically impossible, but will do what we can with out interfering with regular work.
Hope you will appreciate my position and don’t feel that I may trying to renege in any way.
Thank you for your letter and for your confidence in me. Hoping that this will soon clear up to the satisfaction of all.
With all good wishes
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R7. 11/17/40 [2011]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I have been intending to write you for some time but since my other week’s vacation the 20th of Oct. I have been very busy.
I did have a lovely week in Pa. & Ohio. We drove up while all the mountains were in their autumnal glory.
I want to tell you how much I enjoyed the booklet on the dedication of new vault and library. The article or talk I should say by Mr. Sugrue was very good. He must be quite a wonderful person. Such a fine development, mentally and spiritually.
Yes, I do think it is so fine, the work of the association is trying to accomplish. I do hope I shall be more active in my membership some day, but now I am not free to come & go as I might wish as I am kept pretty busy at the bank.
I hope some day to come to Va Beach again and see the new vault and library.
I notice I have been placed on your prayer list, and on list 5:45 to 6.00 P.M. which suits me perfectly. Find enclosed a love gift.
I do want to say that my father continues to be well. My great thanks to you, and wishes to broaden his work and change to a more profitable business which I hope he will soon find the place best suited to his abilities. He is a druggist and a very good chemist as well, having cured and found cure for eczema, acne, etc. If he can just find a way to get these things on the market. Another thing he is a Pisces person.
I hope some time to read Mr. Sugrue’s book. I know it must be interesting.
At the prayer time 5:45 to 6:00 think of me because there is something special I want very much to happen, and perhaps you can help.
Write me sometime.
Sincerely, [2011]
R8. 1/7/41 [2011]‘s letter: “Some day when I have some money I would like to have my last incarnation. I was Cambra Cyclon, and a friend of Andre’s during American Revolution here in this country. I think I was French because the French language is the easiest thing to me I ever studied and I get the pronunciation perfectly.
“Find enclosed love offering for Glad Helpers Prayer Group.”
R9. 9/18/41 She secured a Physical Reading for her mother, Mrs. [2589].
R10. 2/14/43 [2011]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
It is so very cold out today. I believe the coldest day we have had this winter.
Mother is a lot better, and wants to be doing around quite a bit. I have to try & hold her down every now & then so she won’t do too much.
I have decided that I should get a physical reading. I want to find out about my hair & also a few other things and as every case is different feel I should get the advice about my hair from my own reading. Let me know when you can book me. Sat. P.M. would be best time, but if that doesn’t suit, make it suit you. Some afternoons I get out early, but probably would be at bank about 3:30 P.M.
Yes, as you say I hope very much that I get to see Jimmie before very long.
It is so hard to be patient, and so very hard to never see the one you love. It will be six yrs. in April since I have seen him. I suppose I have complained a lot to you, and acted the baby, but I always feel I can tell you every thing.
If you could only influence the Army to have him sent up this way. It could do the Army no harm, but would make me so happy.
Love, [2011]
