This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of January, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2025], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2025]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, in the general ways, conditions show that they are holding their own, or improving in directions of eliminating the disturbances, - and there is the greater expectancy through the mental reactions of the body.

4. We would keep those administrations and activities which have been suggested, which have maintained the desires and the abilities to throw off the disturbing conditions.

5. As we find, there is shown a weakening in the abilities for the activities of the kidneys, as combined with the action of the pancreas and the spleen’s reaction for the full eliminations.

6. Thus we are gradually building a condition which might become as a detrimental influence unless physical measures are also taken and suggestions directed for the correction of the conditions which might become very disturbing.

7. As we find, we would add these to the diet and to the administrations, in a very mild form, so as to give merely the effectual assistance to the functioning of these organs in eliminating the uremic poisoning from the system; thus enabling the organs to become more strengthened by the assimilating of the foods from the general diet:

8. At least once a week, but not oftener, nor a larger quantity, we would have in the diet the Jerusalem artichoke; one not larger than the size of an ordinary hen egg. Preferably cook this in Patapar Paper, so that all the salts and juices of same are retained. This may be mashed and eaten with a little seasoning if so desired, or just as it is. This as we find will aid the pancreas, and the activities of the spleen as related to the sugar content for the body, and assist in the activity of the kidneys themselves. Take this just once each week, - preferably Tuesdays.

9. Also, twice each week, we would take a pint of Watermelon Seed Tea, but taking this quantity over a period of two days, you see. Prepare same by pouring a pint of boiling water over a teaspoonful (level) of crushed or ground watermelon seed, and allow to steep as ordinary tea. This quantity would be taken in two doses, - that is, during the two days. But we would prepare this amount twice each week, - so it would really be taken during four days each week, you see, but allowing a day of rest between the two periods of taking same. Keep this in a very cool place, so that there is not the least bit the souring of same when it is prepared, see?

10. Then, keep the rest of the diet and the activities and the rest of the suggestions as we have indicated, and we will continue to keep the better influences and forces about this body, [2025].

11. Ready for questions.

12. (Q) What causes the bladder condition? (A) That condition as indicated, - such an excess of the reaction from kidneys of uremic poisons and acids in the system.

A little heat applied to the vulva area will at times aid in relieving this, or at the lower portion rather, the upper portion just at the lower portion of the pubic center, see? A little heat applied will aid in relieving this aching or burning at times of the activity of the bladder.

13. (Q) As Aspirin seems to be the only thing I know of that makes me comfortable when suffering, does this hinder my recovery? (A) This does not hinder, if it is taken with the bicarbonate of soda; that is, with two Aspirin tablets take one Soda-Mint tablet, see?

14. (Q) Is there anything I can do to overcome extreme nervousness? (A) This is more from the reactions to the general conditions than anything else. The relaxing of the body is the better influence for overcoming these nervous tensions.

At times, if it is necessary, the use of the Radio-Active Appliance would be most helpful in overcoming the nervous disturbance. If used, this may be used for a few minutes two to three times a day - but circulating the attachments about the body in the ordinary manner, changing the attachment with each application, even though used two or three times a day; and this will quiet the nerves and also allow the body to rest. Of course, the body should rest during the period the Appliance is applied, preferably reclining.

15. (Q) Will my bladder trouble yield to treatment, so that I may be well soon? (A) It should yield so that there should be little or no disturbance, after the second or third day of using those properties indicated which will change the activity of same in relation to the general conditions of the body.

Do that, as we have outlined.

R1. 2/4/40 [2025]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Thank you for your kind note, also for the Reading which came promptly.

I have written to LaCrosse, Wis. for the artichoke and am ordering some from there, as we are unable to find them around here.

The rest of the instructions I am trying to carry out carefully and hope for better health. Both of my Readings have been remarkable in their insight into my condition. It still amazes Mr. [2026] and me.

I feel that I had made a substantial gain until a few weeks ago as I had gained 5 lbs. in 15 days.

Then with the increase in the kidney & bladder trouble I lost a little ground. However, I am hoping to continue to improve with your help.

R2. 2/25/40 [2025]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I have followed the instructions given me as well as I could, but so far have been unable to get the Jerusalem artichokes. I wrote to La Cross, Wis. for them and they are waiting for warmer weather to ship them.

I am a little puzzled now as to what I should do. I wonder if you could help me? My doctor whom I see very seldom, tells me the pus and discolored urine is from a fibroid tumor of the uterus and that the uterus should be removed. No mention was made in my last recheck of such a condition, and I wonder what I should do.

Do you think I should have another recheck, or have you any suggestions to make.

R3. 2/27/40 EC’s letter to [2025]:

Dear Mr. [2025]

Yours of the 25th just received - and write you at once. Am sending you a few of the Artichoke, try them out, and hope that very soon you will be hearing from those that may be shipped from Wisc. they keep best Mrs. [2025] by putting them in the ground rather than in ice box or the like - for they wither and soon lose much of the helpful fuid [?] unless kept in the earth.

Now regards the Dr’s report, of course he may be exactly correct - but don’t let it worry you too much, do not know that the information would tell you if they were observed - a tumor that was fribroid [fibroid] in nature, but would if asked the question - am suggesting that we take another reading the afternoon of the 4th - 3.30 to 4.30 E.S.T. if you would like, and this is not to be charged for but you make a list of questions - and we will see what is given - and if you wish to ask that as one of the questions do so.

Hoping that we may indeed be of a real service in HIS name and be sure to let me know about the 4th and ask all the questions that you would like to know about.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I thank you VERY MUCH for your kind letter and your willingness to give me a reading. The time March 4 at 3.30 is quite convenient, and now I will think out all my questions. Thank you, too, about the artichoke - so far mine have never come. I hate to give you so much trouble, but Mr. [2026] and I do appreciate your kindness.

I will put questions on another sheet of paper which may be more convenient.

1. Have I a tumor in the uterus, and if so, is this a serious condition which should require an operation?
2. If I have a tumor, is it malignant in character?
3. What can I do to get rid of gas in my stomach, which often keeps me from eating, and occasionally causes vomiting?
4. Is the discharge that I have from the vagina coming from the uterus, kidney or bladder?
5. Could you suggest anything to improve this condition?
6. Is there anything I can do to increase my weight, as I cannot eat enough to keep my strength?
