-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
As we find, much improvements in the body - even since last we had same here; though the body in manners at times does strain or overdo its real vitality and energy.
-
As has been indicated, there are certain of the teeth that are contributory to the amount of the poisons that are not eliminated properly from the system.
-
Preferably, we would have the whole of the teeth X-Rayed; especially those indicating ANY disturbance, but preferably all of them. Those showing any disturbance, - and these will be found some, or at least one or two molars, two of the incisors need removing. The rest may be treated sufficient to bring bettered conditions.
-
Then we would increase the eliminations so as to carry away more of the poisons and toxins from the system. For this body in the present, and with the activities, we would use the mineral rather than vegetable eliminants; especially such as may be found in Upjohn’s Citrocarbonates. This we would take a heaping teaspoonful each morning before any meal is taken. Let it effervesce and drink a full glass of water with the spoonful dissolved in same, and then another glass of water afterwards.
-
Do drink more water.
-
We would continue with the rubs, at least occasionally; especially when there has been an over amount of exercise; for the muscular forces in the shoulder, especially, and the connecting with the breast bone and the back, will be benefited by the oil massages as we have indicated. Before the massage is given, we would apply wet packs; that is, heavy toweling wrung out of hot water and laid over the areas - as of the shoulder, the arm, and along the spine. And while the body is still warm, with the pores open, apply the oil massage. Then when it is finished, do massage the body with alcohol to close the pores or to rectify any disturbance left there.
-
In the matter of the diet, keep close to the vegetables more at the evening meal, especially. Let the meats be rather in the noon meal, or at lunch, and the greater quantity of vegetables - leafy as well as tuberous natures - will be found to be better for the body, and not too much meat at the evening meal for the body.
-
Have whole grain cereals, and for this body there may be taken the citrus fruits at the same meal, provided the body works - but if it doesn’t, it will have gases form same!
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How much of the vegetable juice should I take now, and how often? (A) These may be rather in the cooked vegetables if so desired, of large quantities, or more of the evening meal made from same. Soups and broths should be included with the vegetables.
-
(Q) Why don’t my knees and back bother me when working, yet I can’t be still for 30 minutes without them aching and jumping? (A) This is a natural tendency for the very nature or impulse, or the disturbed centers between the imaginative nervous system - or the impulse system - and the cerebrospinal.
As indicated, when there is to be the massage, relax the body more by the wet heat before the massages are given. With these we should establish better coordination and not have both nervous systems attempting to function independently.
- (Q) What causes the stiffness through hips and back of legs? (A) Take out the teeth and get rid of the poisons, and we will see that most of these conditions will disappear. They are toxic pressures upon the bursa in areas where locomotion and muscular action take place.
Do these and we will have better conditions for this body.
- We are through with this Reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 11/12/43 He referred Miss [3495] for a Physical Reading.
R2. 12/3/47 Wife [1541]‘s letter to their daughter, [1523]:
“A tree or limb hit Papa on his head - raised a knot; his neck and shoulders were sore so he decided he had better get some treatments. Dr. Richardson [M. L. Richardson, D.O.] told him he wouldn’t be able to get it all corrected with one treatment, so - He said he feels much better to date. Tonight he is at […]‘s [son’s] helping him to hang his garage doors that he has gotten at last.”
R3. 7/26/49 Daughter [1523]‘s letter: “I was somewhat taken back by the change in both [1541] and Pop. It seems to me that their cross has been tripled in the last years of their life. One prefers to think that it works the other way around, eh?”
R4. 6/12/50 Daughter [1523] prepared an outline for treatments for [2051] based on all six of his Physical Readings.
R5. 11/5/50 Report by daughter, [1523]: “Pop is in excellent health-breath clear and sweet - and jumping around like a child. The one drawback is a stiffness in the left shoulder, which I am now rubbing for him about three nights a week. Mom fills in with the rubs when I am not able to get up home - and the rubs are needed.
“At present his hearing is very poor - trying to use hearing aid but it makes him nervous to use it constantly. So far he is only using it for lectures, sermons, etc.”
R6. 3/30/51 Letter from [1523] to [2778]: ”… You asked about Mother and Dad - they are fine, in fact, they grow sweeter each day. I had them up for Easter dinner and they stayed thru the afternoon and we talked about reincarnation, etc. For quite a long time now I have been talking the them about passing on, trying to prepare them for the change when it comes and at long last I am beginning to see they they are adjusting themselves, and perhaps just a little, looking forward to their reward for having lived such full and useful lives.
Dad’s arm bothers him some, so every now and then, I give him rubs, in fact we were up home last night, and I gave him a rub. Also I take care of mother’s hair for her, and am planning to give her a Toni [permanent] next week. As you know her hair is beautiful…”
R7. See subsequent reports on his Life Reading under 2051-5.
R8. 5/15/53 Daughter [1523]‘s report: “[2051] says he has used TIM for hemorrhoids as directed on the jar, twice daily, and having used two ounces the condition is completely cleared.”
R9. 10/5/53 “Pop is really happier since he has been working on the house for me. There is nothing for him like being busy. That’s for the mind and body; he seems healthier and everything.”
R10. 1/3/57 Report by daughter, [1523]:
It was thru me that my dad knew of Mr. Cayce. Although he knew that I had benefited greatly from my own physical readings, as well as my sister [1548], he always pretended not to believe in the readings. It is my personal opinion that he did this just to get me to talk about them, for at the time I was working in the office and came to know a great deal about the information given in the readings.
It was in November of 1939 that my mother finally told me that dad had been walking the floor nights because he couldn’t sleep. His arms and legs ached - and especially one of his arms which had been badly damaged in an auto accident in 1931. Further, mom told me that Pop was threatening to commit suicide, and she was really frightened that he would do just that, because of the nervous condition he was in.
As a last resort he “let me talk him into” getting help through Mr. Cayce.
Every effort was made to follow the reading in detail. From 1939 until Dec. of 1940 I massaged his shoulder and arm - (left arm) with the Mutton Tallow, Turpine Turpentine?] and Camphor compound - 6 nights out of 7. Generally his physical condition improved as well as his mental attitude. All the while I massaged him - there was talk of the readings
- mostly life readings, at this point.
He became rather stubborn about keeping up the osteopathic treatments, but generally speaking he followed the information given, very well.
He went to the dentist - and attempted to find what teeth needed attention, but the dentist did not find the condition described in the reading, - so that we did not know which teeth should be removed.
In 1940 - it was through Dr. Bob Woodhouse [Robert W. Woodhouse, M.D.] that I was able to get the prescription for the combination of Laudanum and Aconite. It is interesting to know that Dr. Woodhouse was the only Dr. on the Beach that anyone could turn to at that time for anything that required a Dr.’s prescription. On good authority I was told that all the Dr.’s on the Beach had gotten together and agreed not to read a reading if one should be brought to them. This was their way of giving EC opposition. I was amused that when I went to Dr. Woodhouse with the request for the prescription
- that he kept his word - and did not read the reading. Knowing that he had made this promise, I read off the part of the reading to him that suggested what the compound would be used for, and he then made out the prescription. Of course he had known my whole family for years - especially my dad, and then too he was the Dr. Mr. Cayce called in whenever he wanted a Dr.
At the time when Dad’s arm was bothering him so much - he was told by a Dr. that the only thing he could do was have the arm cut off - this was before he had a reading, and to this he would never have agreed. When in the auto accident in 1931 - his arm was broken in three places - just mangled. The little finger was broken - or the bone split long ways. The elbow was so mashed that he has never been able to let his arm hang down straight. Because of this in the spring of 42 - he was working up in a tree, when he lost his balance and tried to catch himself with his left arm - the impact of the weight of his body against the crystallized condition of his elbow - was quite a shock to his body. This caused him considerable pain - although it did straighten his arm about 4 inches. This together with a fall from a 8 ft. scaffolding brought about the request for another reading in June.
In 1943 - since we were not able to determine which teeth were in need of being removed - that is the dentist could find nothing in the X-rays that he could recommend the removal of any particular teeth - so we decided to just have them all removed.
Dad will be 83 in Jan of 57. His mind is as alert as can be, and his physical stamina is remarkable. He has - from time to time - repeated some of the suggestions given in his readings, and has learned to apply some of the things needed without my suggestions. He loves life and loves to help people - and he wants to stay healthy and live as long as possible.
As a result of following the readings - dad was restored to such good health that he behaved like a kid - laughing and giggling at the slightest comment.
While he was not capable of understanding his Life reading, and there by did not get the help from it that he might have - he was most anxious to have the life reading. I have talked with him about it from time to time, and both he and my mother have become accustomed to the thought of re-incarnation, so that when they do pass over, they are much better prepared than they would otherwise have been. They are a delightful couple, and a shining example to one and all. One can better understand the statement of Jesus in the New Testament “Ye must become as little children” - for they are like a children - being easily disturbed, but forgetting and forgiving quickly, and forgetting.
R11. 1/20/58 Daughter [1523]‘s report: On 1/17/58 a.m. I dreamed that Pop passed on before mother, or that he would, rather suddenly. Mother had a slight stroke last Sept. and has arteriosclerosis. She cannot use her right arm or hand and tends to drag her right foot.
In Sept. my brother [2385] and his wife [2336] came to live with Mama and Papa. [2385] is now…and [2336] is keeping house for mother and dad.
There are many family problems with this arrangement and many things that built up to them, from the present incarnation. Mother has always been the balance-wheel, and with her slipping gradually away, the pressures and differences of opinion that are called KARMIC - are coming to the foreground. Each one shows up according to his or her weakness - as well as the strengths. This is a trying time for my dad, for his word has always been law - never being questioned by mother or any of the family - at least not to any extent or of any duration. This makes it difficult for him now, for his ideas about discipline in particular, do not make for peace at all times.
R12. 8/24/58 Report by daughter:
About 2 weeks ago, Pop fell against the edge of a door, having sat on a basket that made him lose his balance - and hurt his arm very badly. This has caused his shoulders and arms to ache so badly that he has had to take something to sleep night.
For quite a while I have been trying to urge him to take a series of treatments from Dr. O. M. Wakefield of Va. Beach, Va. and he has only just now started.
Dr. Wakefield gave him a complete check-up this Friday past, including an X-ray of his chest. I will get a copy of this report from him to file with this report.
For the past week - Papa’s attitude seems to have changed, and this should be most helpful for him in getting back to his normal good health. I plan also to include colonics with the series of treatments that he is not getting. Dr. Wakefield told me that he had not had an opportunity to study his findings, when I called him Sat. past, but he had noticed that Pop had an enlarged heart, which probably accounted for his shortness of breath. He did say that this was not unusual in a person of Papa’s age.
Papa’s mind is still very alert - but his hearing seems to be a little worse than usual. Perhaps the general good health which the treatments he is now getting, will help in this area.
R13. 4/23/59 Daughter [1523]‘s report: “Mother and Dad were married 59 years on 4/23/59. Mother is slowly fading away but her spirit and ability to take job in daily events no matter how simple - is remarkable.
Pop is getting very discouraged. Staying in all the time does not agree with him - health-wise; yet he won’t make arrangements to have someone in so that he can spend more time away from the house.
Some time ago - months now - I guess, I had two dreams not too far apart - that Pop would go before mother. It’s hard to tell who is waiting for whom.
R14. See subsequent dreams under daughter’s reading 1523-13 Reports.
R15. 12/17/62 Dr. Wakefield’s letter to Mrs. [1523]:
Dr. O. M. Wakefield Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon 203-26th Street Virginia Beach, Virginia
Mrs. [1523] .., Va.

R16. 11/22/62 He died.
R17. 12/8/62 Daughter [1523]‘s report:
Personal physician, O. M. Wakefield, Osteopath, Va. Beach, Va. See his report dated 12/17/62 re. findings on 7/29/60.
Dr. Wakefield recommended further examination by Dr. C. J. Divine, Jr., urologist, of Norfolk, Va. Superficial examination indicated prostatitis. This together with x-rays taken by Dr. Wakefield indicated prostatitis and suspicion of malignancy. Dr. Divine recommended further check and sent him to Dr. Frank N. Billisoly, internalist-neurologist, of Norfolk, Va. The consensus of opinion was cancer-malignant, originating in the prostate glands and possibly extending up the side of the body as shown in the x-rays. Because of his age no pressure was brought to bear on further examination. Only a biopsy could have proven the diagnoses, and my father decided against further examination.
About two months before his death a numbness in the right leg would appear form time to time. His eliminations became increasingly more difficult to regulate. He complained of being dizzy for 2 or more years, and this became more pronounced in the last month. He resorted to a prescription given by Dr. Billisoly to kill the pain, and this was increased when needed and used until Tuesday afternoon at 5 o’clock when Dr. W. L. Taylor, M.D. of Va. Beach, ordered something stronger. The death certificate reads “Cause of death - Cardiovascular disease”. Wednesday through the night until his passing on Thanksgiving Day at 2:48 A.M. he experienced hard suffering. Otherwise his suffering was minimum. He was in bed 10 days at home and 2 days in the hospital, before passing on. His son [2385] was with him. He was conscious and spoke with him minutes before he passed on. In his entire life this was his second time in the hospital. The first time was for a broken arm suffered in a car accident, in 1931.
Contrary to his life-time of impatience, during his illness he was the soul of patience. He made it a point to talk with everyone, friend and foe, to make his peace with them. He wiped out all unpaid (uncollectible) debts, and left his affairs so that everything belonged to mother at his death. He selected his pall-bearers, bought grave stones for himself and mother, and chose the funeral parlor to take care of him at his death. He left only three things to be done - the selection of his clothes, the casket, and the church service.
His Life reading cautioned him about various negative attitudes, and of these, one he did not seem to be able to eliminate. Passing judgements, coupled with resentments in various degrees, could be said to be his only fault. Some think this fault could produce cancer into the physical body.
He was written up on the editorial page of the … with emphasis on his political career. (This also would reflect on his life reading) The general theme was his worth to the county in his life time and the love and esteem in which he was held. He has not a child that will measure up to the heritage he left them.
