This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of November, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2078], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 10:50 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Indiana.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, there are many changes in the general physical forces of the body.

4. The operative measures have been very well done. The only needs to be the precautions and the necessary conditions kept as to not cause bruises, strains, or an overtaxing of the system, until there is the full period for the body to adjust itself for recuperative forces.

5. Naturally the needs for the anaesthesia and the local applications also cause some disturbance and distress.

6. We find that the use of the Radio-Active Appliances, which we have suggested for other conditions, may be used here also for beneficial results. Use it about thirty to forty minutes morning and evening.

7. Then keep the regular conditions for better eliminations and for general improvement; keeping quiet and not overtaxing the body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) What should be done to prevent any bad after effects? (A) Just as outlined; those precautions as to not bruising the breast, nor letting the system run down. Keep good eliminations.

10. (Q) Please advise as to condition of breast. (A) As indicated, it is very satisfactory - very well done; only needs the precautions indicated; that there are no bruises of the glands. For, this is NOT of the nature that would be or cause a disturbance or outgrowth of same, unless there are injuries or constitutional disturbances brought about by lack of attention. It is not malignant, then, in its nature.

R1. 11/14/40, Thursday, Mrs. [2078]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Your Reading which you sent several days ago, on my breast condition, was very reassuring. I am abiding by instructions as contained therein very closely. I spend twelve to fifteen hours a day either in bed or lying on the couch. I am now taking X-rays, upon belated advice from my physician and the wish of my husband. Personally, I have thought them unnecessary. The treatments take heavy toll of my strength - at least I think it is the treatments - for I had felt quite well for me, under the circumstances, until the treatments were started.

I had not taken any castor oil packs for my side for a long time - five or six weeks - owing to dressing over my breast wound. After the first X-ray treatment, I suffered a three days’ attack of nausea and suffered severe discomfort, like an enlargement in the region of my liver and gall-bladder. As soon as I could manage it after that, I resumed castor oil pack, and experienced wonderful relief after the first application. I think I shall keep to a three-pack-a-week schedule for some time.

I imagine you have been to New York and back by now. I am sure if you had a visit with Miss [954] that it was a highly satisfactory one. She is possessed of a great soul, as are you, and a communion between two such persons is nothing short of inspirational.

I would have written you sooner if I had felt up to it. You will hear from me again I suspect within the next ten days.

R2. 12/4/40 Mrs. [2078]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Another payment - ten dollars - on my fee to your organization - is enclosed. If gives me great satisfaction to report that I am MUCH improved. I continue to improve nicely from my operation and my liver and gall-bladder are troubling me less. My nerves are gradually steadying. Perhaps you can imagine my relief and gratitude.

R3. 3/29/41 Mrs. [2078]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Here is a little “April Fool” enclosure to be applied toward the completion of the records rooms, which I understand, remain uncompleted for lack of funds. This is too bad - the work should push on to completion. You have been so exceedingly kind and generous with all of us who have called upon your services that we should show our appreciation in some tangible form, and this seems to be the best possible way. It is extremely gratifying, too, for one to have the privilege of helping even in the most modest way, toward the establishment of a place for records of the great work you have been doing. I greatly regret that I have been so tardy in getting around to this project.

My daughter and I continue to improve slowly, but I know, very surely. Of this, I shall write you a little later.

R4. 9/9/41 Ltr: “My nerves are greatly improved, but I have an aggravated condition in my gall bladder region - much discomfort. Sometimes I wonder if some complex still held in the subconscious is responsible. If I could afford a mental reading, or whatever kind it should be, later on, do you think it might reveal it if there is a conflict?”

R5. 9/13/41 EC’s letter to Mrs. [2078] (first part omitted in regard to daughter, [2159]):

Would keep up the oil pack to get rid of that condition in the Gall bladder area that has where given has proven the most helpful thing tried. Am sure would help you.

At times we find complexes come from such conditions - or should say such conditions come from former complexes.

Be glad to under take the reading for you Mrs. [2078] when ever you would like, can it be of help. Will also help you to take care of it as you wish.

R6. 6/23/42 Mrs. [2078]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

I am so very sorry that I did not comply with your request to write a line prior to the Annual Congress. Believe me, however, I have been with you in thought and prayer. I trust the Congress, was a fruitful one, in all ways and I am sure the prayers for guidance were answered.

I have been having a painful time again for some weeks, with my side. Except for recurrence of fears - and these recurrences, thank Providence, - are not severe - I am better in every other way, except my side. A Reading you gave more than a year ago, indicated that the nature of the gallbladder trouble that changed from the original ailment, due to my operation. That is, the CHANGE was due to the operation. Will you be good enough to give me another Reading, and suggest a diet? The latter has become increasing important. Of course, if the first diet you offered some three years or so ago, is good for my present condition, I can easily refer to it.

I am still indebted to you for my last Reading - I have not lost sight of that, and I had so hoped to have taken care of it before this time, but I have not had the funds, it seems.

In this letter, I am enclosing two dollars to be applied on Records Room. If this worthy project has been completed by this time, after this I shall enclose amounts to be applied on the Reading fees. I am hoping you can give me the Reading soon, and I shall be so VERY, VERY grateful.

R7. 6/29/42 Mrs. [2078]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Your reply to my request for a Reading come this morning, setting July 2nd from 10:30 to 11:30 E.W.T., as the time. I thank you deeply for the Reading and also for your great kindness in rendering this service, under the circumstances. I shall take care of the fees as rapidly as possible. I am sending a question or two:

I am taking brief sun-baths in my back yard, daily, letting the sun shine on the bare flesh in the gall-bladder region. Is this helpful?

Occasionally I take bending exercises to stimulate flow of bile. Is this helpful or otherwise?

So-called migraine head-aches, so much lighter in pain than they were formerly, still occur with certain gall-bladder disorders. Does the gall-bladder ailment cause these head-aches? Fear of pain and fears of many other kinds often beset me when I suffer the gall-bladder attacks. While these fears are not so pronounced now as they were a short while ago, I did not have them when I asked you for help some time ago. Do they connect up in any way with an operation or X-Ray treatments of afterwards, of some two years ago?

Again I thank you. I shall be at home at the time set for the Reading Thursday.
