Time of Reading 11:25 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief for this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2085].
-
As we find, there are disturbing conditions which have prevented and do prevent a better or nearer normal physical functioning. These as we find are rather a complication of disturbances, yet their effects have gradually grown to be more aggravating through the eliminating system - or alimentary canal.
-
These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2085] we are speaking of:
-
In the blood supply we find those conditions which indicate a disturbance in the assimilating system. Thus there is a form of a glandular disturbance throughout the system, and at times great changes are shown in the manner in which the assimilations take place.
-
These conditions arise primarily, as we find, from the attempts of the system to meet the needs of conditions produced by subluxations that have hindered the glands of assimilation, as to receiving their full impulse from the nerve forces, or nerve systems.
-
Thus there has gradually grown something of an irritation, which comes and goes, between the sympathetic or vegetative nerve system AND the cerebrospinal. And the effect is seen upon the activity of the liver, as related to the excretory functionings, - as well as upon the pancreas and the spleen in their supplying of energies to aid in the assimilating forces.
-
These conditions are also indicated in the blood supply, though these would not show other than positive or negative forces dependent upon the period when tests would be made.
-
Also there has been produced a condition through the jejunum, as well as the colon itself, - a tendency towards a chronic colitis, or inflammation to the membranes, or the LYMPH as it functions through these portions of the system.
-
Hence we find this complication of disturbances which cause the greater disorders with this body.
-
In the nerve system, as indicated, we find the subluxations existing in the upper dorsals, or from the 4th to the 1st dorsal, sympathetically in the 9th - or the lower portion of the dorsal area, and throughout the cervicals.
-
Hence we would have corrections of these through mechanical adjustments, osteopathically administered. These should be given twice each week until at least sixteen or eighteen have been taken, - until there is an elimination of those subluxations and a stimulating to activity all of the organs of assimilation.
-
When beginning with the adjustments, begin also with a compound, which would be prepared in this manner:
-
To 2 ounces of Distilled Water add a tablespoonful of Pure Honey (not synthetic, but pure honey). Let this come to a boil, skimming off the dross or sediment as it rises to the top. Then add to this 1/4 ounce of Grain Alcohol. Then add, IN THE ORDER NAMED:
Elixir (or fusion) of Wild Ginseng…1/4 ounce, Wild Ginger (essence or fusion)…1/4 ounce, Tincture of Stillingia…1/4 ounce, Elixir of Lactated Pepsin…1/4 ounce.
The dose would be half a teaspoonful in half a glass of water twice each day, - morning and evening.
-
This compound taken internally as a stimulant to the activities through the alimentary canal, with the osteopathic corrections given, will gradually make for not only the correcting of the condition but the eliminating of the causes of same; and thus bring about a near normal or equal balance in the functioning of the organs, as well as the glandular forces, and clearing gradually the disturbance wherein the activities through the whole of the alimentary canal may be eliminated and eradicated entirely from the system.
-
In the diets, keep away from meats. Only fish or fowl may be taken, and these never fried. NO FRIED FOODS OF ANY KIND.
Take rather the body-building and strength-giving foods, - especially a great deal of fruits, fruit juices - including citrus fruit juices, of course. Combine a little lemon with the orange juice. Plenty of prunes, prune whip. Plenty of pineapple and the like. All of these would be the principals, though not all of the diet. Refrain from a great deal of pastries. Malted milks and those of such natures may be in the diet. Not too much of candies or sweets, though occasionally milk in chocolate or cocoa or the like may be taken.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Why, after becoming fatigued physically or mentally, does there arise a fear of going to sleep? (A) As indicated, this is the effect of the incoordination between the impulses through the cerebrospinal nerve forces and those of the sympathetic or imaginative or impulse system. The relaxing of these osteopathically, in those areas indicated, should make for easier rest and for resuscitating forces following same.
Do as has been outlined.
-
(Q) Do I need some particular mineral or vitamin? (A) As has been indicated, - these are included in that indicated.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 2/5/40 [2085]‘s letter to EC:
My dear Mr. Cayce:
Your reading received. Shall carry out your directions. Have sent to the Meridith Drug Company for the compound. When received shall get in touch with an osteopath.
When writing for a reading did not understand that I should send more specific questions, telling what the doctor diagnosed my trouble. Congested gall bladder, and a tendency to arthritis, at times quite extensive and painful.
As you request shall within a few days write a history of the case and forward you.
Am looking forward to a cure. Thank you.
Yours sincerely, (Mrs.) [2085]
R2. 4/23/40 [2085]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
On January 29th you gave me a reading on physical conditions and directions for curing the condition.
I wish to report considerable improvement. There are recurrances of intestinal trouble from time to time, probably due to indiscretions in eating which occur when friends visit me or I am visiting them for dinner or luncheon.
I sent for a compound and took it faithfully until it was gone.
You advised 16 to 18 osteopathic treatments. To-day I had the twentieth and planning to keep them up for a little longer. One a week.
After ten treatments with the osteopath you recommended, and whom I liked very much, I went to my own osteopath in the country to whom I had been going occasionally and he recommended a friend in the city here with whom I am continuing. Made the change for convenience sake.
Should like to have another reading not only to discover how to improve other conditions which are bothering but also just what hinders a complete cure.
Attended your lecture in New York on “My World” and was interested and more than ever convinced of your sincerity and psychic power. Was glad to shake your hand and sorry there was no time you could give for a reading.
Every good wish for continued success in your healing work.
Sincerely yours, (Mrs.) [2085]
P.S. Just what do I do for a second reading? Follow the same procedure as for the first? The change will be ten not twenty dollars will it not? Please advise me.
R3. 5/16/40 [2085]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Another condition has come to light since last writing you. There is a vaginal swelling and the urethra seems to be slightly swollen. As soon as I noticed it had an examination. The doctor said there was a small cyst on the cervix, had grown a little larger since examination two years ago and the parts about were somewhat inflamed and red. Also there is the appearance of blood although there is not stain if parts are wiped.
There is a a sagging of organs, always has been for years but no discomfort from it except once or twice before a few years ago which re-adjusted itself.
Have not had a repeat of blood count nor of urine yet but shall have them next week sometime.
What is the exact nature of this condition and how shall it be healed?
Since writing you last the other condition for which you gave a reading in January has returned but in a much milder form. For a time, as I wrote you, the condition seemed almost gone, only vague suggestion remained for about two weeks.
There has been, on and off, a arthritis condition which fluctuates, noticeable upon arising particularly, improving and clearing up during the day.
What of my gall bladder, which an x-ray examination last August indicated congestion and according to that osteopathic physician has cause of intestinal condition?
Please give reading on present condition.
Has the intestinal condition of the previous reading actually improved.
What is the vaginal condition and what to do about it?
Is the gall bladder a contributing cause? Could you give me a check reading on either Wednesday or Thursday, May 21st or 22nd - at the Hotel …, Room …
With grateful appreciation of past reading
Sincerely yours, (Mrs.) [2085]
P.S. Neglected to state that my tonsils are somewhat enlarged and cystic. They have little pus pockets, there is also, more or less, continual dropping in throat, catarrh condition. Is this poisoning the blood stream?
R4. 5/22/40 [2085]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Just as I was about to telegraph or telephone to inquire if you had not received my letter asking for a reading on Wednesday, the 22nd, or Thursday the 23rd, received Congress Notes and Bulletin which stated that you and Mrs. Cayce were away on a vacation and not expected to return until the 25th.
As I am returning to my home some day next week please appoint a time after Decoration Day, preferably the following week.
With every good wish and a hope that your vacation gave you relaxation and vitality.
Sincerely yours, (Mrs.) [2085]

R6. 6/1/40 [2085]‘s letter to EC:
…, New Jersey
Dear Mr. Cayce:
The morning of June 1st 10.30 to 11.30 E.S.T. but 11.30-12.30 Daylight time here will be satisfactory.
You have my letter of some time back inquiring about my gall bladder and liver and whether there is genuine improvement in my intestinal condition. It seems that all organs have sagged somewhat, even right kidney. A fitted belt has been recommended but I’d rather not use artificial support unless really necessary.
As I wrote I had a set back after visiting you soon after your lecture in New York.
Feel very good at times these last two weeks during day. On arising, however, find myself very stiff in lower back muscles, sometimes shoulders and neck also, but it seems to work off after being around awhile except an occasional movement which reminds me, by a twinge or two.
I also note about a cyst on the cervix and a sort of irritated condition which the doctor advises cauterization although not large. What is condition here and cause? Condition has apparently improved since writing although there has not been another examination.
Was told about this cyst 4 years ago but not to bother. Then it seemed to go away or at least another examination by another doctor said it had disappeared except for slight soreness & redness but at the time of writing you for a reading there was an aggravation which lasted only about four days then improved.
I also asked about my throat which is not sore but tonsils are cystic. What to do.
What is the cause and remedy for all this? Thank you. You helped me before and will again I know. With best wishes
Sincerely, [2085]
