This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of June, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2085], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2085].
-
Now, as we find, there are conditions which still disturb the body; though there is a great deal of improvement from that as we have had here before.
-
There needs to be, as yet, a consistent carrying on with those suggestions which we have made for improvements.
-
While the conditions through the intestinal tract show improvement, there has been a reverting to the former disturbances, - partially the natural result of changes, and partially from indiscretions on the part of the body as to diet, with the leaving off of some of those things suggested.
-
And these as we find would be the better applications, even in or under the different environments - for there should be more of a rest in the open air, sunshine, pines, sands, seashore. These as we find would offer for the body, with those former applications suggested, the better conditions in the present.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) In what condition do you find my gall bladder and liver? (A) There are those inclinations for the sediment through the duct itself to give disturbance. It would be well to keep those suggestions made for the alleviating of the tension.
-
(Q) Is there genuine improvement in my intestinal condition? (A) Genuine improvement; though, as indicated, there have been some indiscretions, and the leaving off of some of the applications suggested, - which has hindered this from being further improved, though has prevented it from reverting to the old disturbance.
-
(Q) Is it really necessary, or advisable, to use artificial support for sagged organs? (A) This is preferable; for the tension which has existed causes the strain upon the abdominal organs, by this sagging.
A broad elastic support is the better for the body.
-
(Q) Why stiffness in lower back muscles, sometimes shoulders and neck also, especially upon arising? (A) The effect of the toxic forces arising from hindrances in proper eliminations of poisons and drosses from the system. And the periods of rest cause these, as it were - through the periods of slowed circulation - to become acute in areas that have shown the lack of exercise properly to eliminate, or cause the circulation to carry same from the system.
-
(Q) What is condition of cyst on cervix? Should it be cauterized? (A) Not until there is greater coordination created or brought about in the general eliminating and assimilating system, or bettered conditions in the blood stream as related to the eliminations. Then this may be done without fear of causing bad after effects.
This we would not have done until the latter part of the summer or early part of the fall.
- (Q) What should be done about condition of tonsils and throat? (A) If there are the applications for the general eliminations, the better drainages being set up will become a part of the helpful experiences for these areas also.
Do these, as we have indicated.
- (Q) What causes all of these ailments? (A) As indicated, they are a part of those disturbances through the gall duct area, and the effect of the circulation produced by the slowed activity of same through the liver. Hence the needs for the stimulating of drainages to eliminate these poisons from the system.
And this as we find may be best done in the present if the body will keep more in the open, and in such an environment as we have indicated.
But keep up the applications that have been suggested for alleviating these disturbances through the gall duct, as well as keeping drainages set up through the eliminating system by the osteopathic stimulation to segments along the cerebrospinal system.
- We are through with this Reading.

R1. 6/27/40 Mrs. [2085]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Since receiving the check Physical reading on May 29th have improved very much and feel sure that my physical condition will be 100% health and complete cure eventually.
I am writing to ask if you could give a reading on how to go about selling some property that my brother, sister, and myself own jointly.
If so, would the charge be ten dollars or more?
Sorry was not able to attend the Association Convention and am looking forward to the report of it.
Wish every good wish,
Sincerely yours, Mrs. [2085]
R2. 6/28/40 EC’s letter to Mrs. [2085]:
Dear Mrs. [2085]
Have yours of the 27th. Glad indeed to hear you are feeling better, just hope you will continue, and soon be fine and well. As for a reading of the nature you mention Mrs. [2085] there has been times have tried such, but do not feel it is best to try and use an influence that is helpful for illness for purely material things. Have found such prevent my being able to do as well in other work, so have to say do not deem it well to even try for such. Hope tho you will soon be able to dispose of same in a satisfactory manner.
Thanking you for your report. Hoping to have the pleasure of having you at some of our Congress meetings some time.
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R3. 3/28/41 Mrs. [2085]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Some time has passed since my last report and although often I have intended writing have put it off.
At times I have been much improved and then there would come periods of the old trouble.
Since my stay in New York, coming on January 16th have had some bad times and just now quite bad and so I’m writing for a reading to discover the exact cause of my trouble.
Elimination seems to be poor, even when particularly careful of my diet, which I try to be most of the time but am not doing so when attending dinners and teas of my friends.
There is so much gas and many arthritis, or toxic pains, sometimes pains in hands, often in neck and the last two or three weeks in my right leg. Is it due to acid condition?
Will you tell me about the condition of my blood? An examination in December indicated that more iron was needed. Is that so, what shall I do especially? Doctor prescribed iron tablets.
As I said before intestinal gas is very disturbing at times and there is also flatulence soon after eating, sometimes after taking fruit or vegetable juices.
There is at times a slight soreness in lower right abdomen, the spot where the appendix, the illioceal [ileocecal] valve and the caecum are. What is the condition here?
Is the trouble in the gall bladder, the liver or both? How shall I correct it if so.
What causes the capillaries to break and little red spots the size of pin heads sometimes larger to appear on my skin?
After taking a nap in the after-noon feel so full of pains and aches and dullness that it requires an effort of the will to get up.
Also have little pains that come and go in and about my ears and two or three times have had severe indigestion.
Is my stomach all right?
Has the sagging of stomach and intestines improved?
Because there is so much in the world to do just now and perfect health is needed I want to become strong and well in body, mind and spirit.
An examination by a doctor in early January disclosed no serious or rather incurable conditions but there must be some hidden cause that such examination does not bring out and so I’m asking you again for diagnosis and advice.
The Lord bless you in your wonderful work and keep you and cause his face to shine upon you.
As I shall be here at this hotel until the first week in May, having closed my house in …, New Jersey for the winter, please appoint a time for a reading here. Apartment …
Yours Sincerely Mrs. [2085]
P.S. Enclosing check for $10.00. My hand now aches after writing this letter quite badly.
R4. 4/1/41 Mrs. [2085]‘s letter to EC:
The morning of the 3rd 10.30 to 11.30 E.S.T. will be satisfactory. Hotel … room …
An additional question.
Several times recently have indigestion, gas giving pain in chest & about ribs after taking simple fruit juice like pineapple or grape juice, or vegetable juice like carrot and celery. What causes this? How remedy?
Have been taking quite a lot of fresh vegetables juices daily (until recently) thinking it would benefit.
Sometimes think it has stirred me up too suddenly. Is that so? Would you advise continuance.
The main question here in my last letter. Re:
What is the cause and the remedy for the condition mentioned in last letter.
I am eager to become well and healthy so that I may be able to do what is required in changing world.
Sincerely yours,
