-
HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [2085]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions are somewhat changed from those we have had here before; yet the sources or causes of the disturbances arise primarily from the same kind of condition, - the inability of the body to properly assimilate the foods taken, owing to those activities through the liver, the gall duct, and the balance in the lactic fluids.
-
Superacidity more often arises, causing a great deal of gas - at times; as well as pains through the abdomen, and especially through the caecum and through that area where the jejunum enters the colon.
-
These are the sources of the greater disturbances.
-
The conditions have been improved, - and the taking of such food values as to cause the upset has brought about these disturbances in the present.
-
These are the precautions that should be taken, if there would be brought about better conditions:
-
First, - we find that there should be more of the osteopathic adjustments, with special reference given to stimulating the areas that assist the duodenum in emptying the foods. We would take these treatments twice a week until about fifteen or sixteen have been taken.
-
There should be precautions not to take ANY stimulating drinks, or carbonated drinks, or those that carry an excess quantity of alcohol, or even foods that carry a plus quantity of alcohol in the system - such as sweets or the like.
-
To assist in creating a better balance in the digestion, take five to six drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in a little water, with each meal.
-
Twice a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays - take with the heavier meal of the day a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth and ten drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin stirred together in two-thirds of a glass of water.
-
If there is the feeling of fullness through the abdomen, or gas, take half a teaspoonful of Alcaroid - first dissolved in a small quantity of water, then the glass filled, and then another glass of water taken afterward.
-
Instead of too much laxatives, we would take an enema about twice a week; not necessarily a colonic irrigation. However, if soreness or fullness continues in the caecum area, have a colonic irrigation - professionally given.
-
But the foods watched, with the treatments and properties taken as indicated, there should be a tendency toward better eliminations.
-
Be precautious as to the diet. Keep away from too much sweets and from too much rare meats.
-
Have plenty of vegetables, but preferably the green or leafy variety rather than the dried; these well cooked. The fresh vegetable juices we would not take, - these we would leave off entirely, - with the increasing of the quantities of cooked leafy vegetables and cooked fresh vegetables. Especially we would leave off the fresh vegetable juices through the periods of taking the digestants as indicated, for changing the digestive fluids.
-
Have plenty of fruits; these rather varied.
-
Not too much of nuts, but almonds may be taken - and filberts; though other characters are too heavy in the present.
-
These do, and we will bring better conditions for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is more iron needed in my blood? If so, how may I acquire it? (A) Not more than would be acquired or assimilated from the taking of the greater quantity of the leafy vegetables.
-
(Q) What causes the capillaries to break and little red spots to appear on skin? (A) The superacidity, as we have indicated, and the tendencies for the capillaries to fill. Not coordinated eliminations.
Thus the particular reference, in the osteopathic adjustments, to DRAINING or emptying the system - especially the stomach and duodenum, see?
-
(Q) What causes pains and dullness especially after resting? (A) Superacidity, and that producing pressure - of course - upon the nerves of the digestive system.
-
(Q) Is the trouble in the gall bladder, the liver or both? (A) These are so closely connected or associated, the trouble is in both - to be sure.
-
(Q) Has the sagging of stomach and intestines improved? (A) This has improved considerably; but with this creating of gas and these disturbing pains it has tended to become a possibility - and is part of the trouble. Of course, with the eliminations increased and the setting up of better drainages, this should be improved.
Do as we have outlined for the better conditions for this body.
- We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Because your readings have helped me and are still helping I should like to get a reading for my sister who is to have an operation. Perhaps very soon.
How do I go about it for another person. Do not know if sister would believe but she is much worried. In order to save time I’ll give now what data I can and enclose check so that then could be an exchange of telegrams at short notice.
R2. 7/26/41 [2085]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Sent telegram of cancelation for reading for my sister because she was going to the hospital that afternoon to be operated upon the next morning.
She is doing very nicely, the doctor’s finding conditions better than expected.
After her return home from the hospital it might be well to give a reading for her.
In the meantime please transfer the reading for me.
After my return from my winter stay in the city I was remarkably well for some time but for more than a month now have had a recurrence of the old trouble and some other conditions.
An examination of urine disclosed sugar and a blood test disclosed it was 180 percent at the time.
I had been indulging in sweets for sometime and think it may have been temporary, so there is to be another test.
Question 1 - Is this an indication of diabetes or is this just a passing phase?
There seems to be considerable soreness around the caecum again and I am often conscious of the area where my gall bladder and liver are. Often mouth tastes bitter.
Question 2 - Is this condition somewhat worse? If so what shall I do to remedy it?
The doctor put me on a rather strict diet for a short time cutting out starches and sweets. I lost weight. He then told me to eat normally but avoid candy and pastry which I am doing.
Question 3 - Should there be any change in diet besides avoiding sweets. If so, what?
I am now taking osteopathic treatments twice a week as you advised. Shall I continue?
Question 4 - Never seems to a slowing down in circulation, veins are smaller, skin creepy (?), flesh not so firm. What can be done to correct this?
Question 5 - Doctor says there would be more tone and less sagging of intestines if there was added weight as I weigh only 109 lbs. What would add weight and not aggravate gall bladder and liver congestion?
Question 6 - There seems to be to looseness in bowels, sort of watery gas, and stools are puffy most of the time. What is the cause, how remedy?
Please set a time for the reading. I shall be at my home here in …, New Jersey.
I am looking forward to your reading for you have helped me before and I begin to understand that it is necessary to follow the small details of a reading.
With appreciation and gratitude and many good wishes.
Sincerely yours, [2085]
