This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of May, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2102], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gladys Davis, Conductor and Steno.]

Time of Reading 4:05 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y.

  1. GD: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes.

  3. Now, as we find, conditions show improvements and at times become very aggravating to the body. This may be expected, due to the long standing disturbance, and its nature and character.

  4. While there is the desire oft to depend upon those measures that become aggravating, by their very nature of being habit forming, and supplying activities in the system, these cannot be gotten wholly rid of at once. These may be gradually diminished better, without the general aggravation to the body.

  5. We find another condition that concurs with the very nature of the disturbance is that there are the more severe paroxysms of the contending influences in the bronchia, the trachea, and the nerves of the lungs, and the asthmatic reaction, at or following those periods of elimination - or the excess activity of the glandular forces.

  6. There is being the relaxing of the structural portions of the body for the better nerve reflexes, better nerve activities, better distribution of the energies and forces that are assimilated.

  7. Then, it is necessary that there be consistency and persistency in following those directions that have been indicated.

  8. Save as to extreme measures, or under extreme conditions, we would not make material changes in the suggestions for applications that are being made; for these are being done very well.

  9. Be patient, be prayerful; be persistent, be consistent.

  10. Don’t overstep the bonds at times in diet or in activity.

  11. If it is necessary for the properties for the better activity, take as little as practical or possible; using same as sparingly and as seldom as possible.

  12. These as we find would be better than other properties.

  13. Ready for questions.

  14. (Q) Please tell me something about Cabisil. (A) For this special individual, we would not use same. It would be too depressing.

  15. (Q) Is there any nasal pathology present? (A) Of course, this is a natural result where all of the mucous membranes of the whole bronchi area, all of the tubes, are naturally involved. There are periods when these through the nasal passages are very much dilated.

Of course, these conditions will be aided by any good antiseptic, as a spray, or the fumes from the combination of these properties would be particularly helpful, - or these may be used as a spray, provided they are clouded into very fine gas or spray, - or this as an antiseptic and a relaxer.

To 4 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol, add - in the order named:

Oil of Eucalyptus…15 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 minims, Tolu in Solution…30 minims.

Keep the bottle tightly corked; and this would be a container twice the size of the quantity. Shake the solution well, remove the cork, and inhale through first one nasal passage and then the other, holding each nostril when inhaling through the other, see? This may be best accomplished, of course, in a container where two vents enter the space above the solution, but for this particular body the drawing AGAINST the vacuum created is better.

  1. (Q) Are glands of internal secretion involved? (A) Every gland is involved, where so much of the lymph and emunctory circulation is involved, - as in ANY long standing asthmatic reaction.

  2. (Q) Why do I still feel such a need for the adrenaline injections? (A) As indicated, these are naturally habit forming, because of their activity upon the circulation.

  3. (Q) Any further advice? (A) Be persistent. Be consistent. Be prayerful, and thankful.

  4. We are through for the present.
