1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: This acute condition, as we find, would respond to these:

3. Put a teaspoonful of Compound Tincture of Benzoin and one-half teaspoonful of Oil of Eucalyptus in boiling water, as in a croup cup, so that the fumes may be inhaled by the body.

4. This will relax the lungs from this severe attack of the asthmatic reactions in the present, and not be too hard upon the lungs or the heart or the digestive system.

5. Do that.

6. Of course, those things that have been given the body, and that have been a part of the treatment generally, cause general weakness.

7. Do as has been indicated.

8. We are through for the present.

R1. 3/15/40 [2102]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Enclosed please find $3. Sorry to be so late in reporting to you but until now have been unable to write. Know you’ll understand. Seem to be slow in regaining my strength and still have a lot of asthma which makes sleep difficult. Am following all directions and have not missed any treatments from Dr. Dobbins, though have had to rest a great deal.

Thank you so very much for your quick response to my mother’s urgent call. Mother had done all in her power to aide me before wiring you. Nothing seemed to offer any relief at all. Upon following directions in wire my breathing slowly returned to a nearly normal condition. Shall use croup cup whenever necessary.

Your offer for a reading for […] is most gracious and truly appreciate it. Feel sure it would prove to be beneficial to him as well as to us. The following is the information I believe you ask -

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Am in receipt of your letter of the 18th. Glad to report that I am feeling better, able to do a share of the duties about the home as well as usual activities outside the home. Dr. Dobbins seemed encouraging and I have gained three pounds since starting treatment. As you say it may take time to adjust but feel, anything worthwhile is worth waiting for.

My family as well as myself, are looking forward to your New York visit and are planning to attend your open meeting. Mr. […] and I feel it a great privilege to meet you.

R3. 3/28/40 EC’s letter to [2102]:

Dear Mrs. [2102]

Thanks for yours of the 26th - happy indeed to know that you are feeling better - for this season of the year is usually the most severe on Asthma sufferers, as the system attempts to adjust its self to the new pressures, in atmosphere, and the blood adjusts its self to the new foods so let’s hope you have the right changes taking place for you. And feel sure you are - glad to know too the Dr. is pleased with progress.

Am looking forward to meeting you and Mr. […] so when you come the evening of the 15th if don’t see you before be sure and come at once to speak with me.

R4. 4/30/40 [2102]‘s letter to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Have just had a treatment from Dr. Dobbins so will report on condition. Have followed directions in reading and must say my back is much straighter and loosening up nicely in the desired region, however, there is a systematic change which takes place that the doctor does not understand and we were wondering if it would be advisable to have a reading or to continue as same?

My family and I enjoyed the open meeting during your New York visit very much. I was so keenly interested, that your talk seemed much too short. Would liked to have had an interview with you in Bronxville but conditions did not permit at that time. After meeting you and listening to you, I feel more sure than ever that I shall in time be helped.

R5. 5/8/40 [2102]‘s letter to EC:

My dear Mr. Cayce -

I am anxiously awaiting the results of your reading for me this coming Saturday - for my condition last week was not as good as usual and I had to give up and go to bed - from Friday until Monday - but got up to go to Dr. Dobbins for my usual treatment and am a little better today.

Doctor has asked me to have you take up the following questions -

1. Can you tell me anything about Cabisil?
2. Are the treatments being properly given?
3. Is there any nasal pathology present?
4. Are the glands of internal secretion involved?

Aside from these questions, I notice that about 10 days after my period my asthma and urticaria are considerably worse. What is the reason for this?

I sincerely feel that I have faithfully followed the directions given in your first reading, Mr. Cayce, but I still feel such a need of the adrenaline injections.

I realize I am presenting a lot of queries but feel that my help lies in your help - thru God.

Again I say, I await your reading with great interest.
