Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, there are conditions which prevent the better normal physical reactions. These are rather disturbances of a complicated nature, and thus have varied reactions at times to many portions of the system.
-
We find that these affect primarily the assimilating and the circulating system.
-
Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [2116] we are speaking of:
-
In the blood supply we find there are deficiencies in the quantity and quality in the blood plasm to reduce or to fight against, at all times, the general debilitations of the body. These primarily arise from a congestion which has existed for some time in the soft tissue of portions of the body.
-
This is rather a catarrhal condition, which has affected the soft tissue in the face and the head, causing a great deal of distress at times to the antrum and the nasal passages, and at times causing a great deal of roaring in the head that affects the organs of the sensory system.
-
As combined with the effect from the infection, from the oozing of disturbances from affected areas, this has upset the digestive system at times, and this has taken from the body the abilities for proper assimilation.
-
Hence the weakness, the lack of vitality and pep, the inability of full eliminations; causing headaches, a general achey and nervous feeling through the whole of the body.
-
All of these, as we find, are indicated from the character of disturbances existing through the blood stream, or blood plasm itself.
-
Hence a form of anemia exists through same.
-
In the nervous system we find rather the effects produced there, causing antagonistic conditions wherever impulses are received from the cerebrospinal system; causing affectations to the heart, the liver, the lungs.
-
All of these are affected through nervous reactions, but are not organically involved in the disturbance.
-
As to the organs of the body, - while brain forces are good, we find that since there has been a great deal of distress their reflexes make for the inability of the body to concentrate as it would desire to do, or to act or react in a nominal, normal way or manner.
-
Throughout the body we find there are involvements in the circulatory forces in lungs, heart, liver and the kidneys; yet these are sympathetic and not organic in their natures.
-
Then, to bring the better conditions for this body, we would make these applications, - and make them in a persistent and consistent manner. Do not apply one without ALL of these being applied.
-
First, - we would begin with the hydrotherapy treatments. These as we find may be best had under the direction of Reilly. There we would take first a gentle - not too much - Cabinet Bath, with the dry heat fumes from iodine combined with same; that is, a few drops of iodine put in half a pint to a pint of water and this steamed in the bath so that the effect of this is over the body during the time the temperature is raised to the extent that there is just begun a good perspiration.
-
Then afterwards have a thorough rubdown, with particular reference to the massage along either side of the cerebro-spinal system; but not making any particular adjustments of the spine, especially during the first five or six of these.
-
Take at least eight or ten of such treatments.
-
And during the periods of the six to ten to twelve of such hydrotherapy treatments, there should be at least TWO of the Colonic Irrigations, to evacuate the colon area, that the poisons may be thoroughly eliminated.
-
Also we would begin with an inhalant, for the nasal passages and throat. Put this in a six to eight ounce container, large-mouth bottle, so prepared that there are two vents through the cork. Neither of these would extend into the solution, you see, but into the space above same. Keep them well corked, and when inhalation is made shake the solution, remove both small corks, and inhale the fumes through each side of the nasal passages and deep into the throat, two or three times, shaking the solution each time before the inhalation is made. Do not take any of the solution, - just inhale the fumes from same. The solution would be prepared in this manner:
-
To 4 ounces of Pure Grain Alcohol, add - in the order named:
Oil of Eucalyptus…20 minims, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…15 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 minims, Tolu in Solution…20 minims.
-
Use this inhalant at least morning and evening, oftener if it is necessary.
-
We would also begin taking VENTRICULIN (with Iron); a teaspoonful every other day.
-
Keep the eliminations above normal.
-
In the diets, - principally vegetables, vegetable juices, raw as well as cooked; plenty of citrus fruit juices; and also cereals, - as whole wheat (crushed), steel cut oats, - these thoroughly cooked. Do not take the cereals and the citrus fruit at the same meal, but alternate these from day to day. If meats are taken, use fish, fowl or lamb.
-
Do these, and we will bring the better conditions for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What causes the aches in back? (A) The pressures from the poisons, as we have indicated, through the disturbances to the organs that are sympathetically involved, - the digestive forces as well as the assimilating.
-
Do these as we have indicated, and we will eliminate these disturbances.
-
We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce:
I am sorry to be a week late with the enclosed check, which is the balance due on my Membership, but the person from whom I was borrowing the money was ill and away for one week.
I would like to express my gratitude for the Physical Reading which you so kindly gave me. It is almost entirely clear to me, and the conclusions reached seem most logical. However, because of lack of funds, I will not be able to start on the treatments until summer, and, therefore, according to your instructions, will hold the whole matter in abeyance until such time as I am able to follow your advice in its entirety.
In the meantime, I am most anxious to have a Life Reading so as to relieve the mental strain which I have been under for several years, especially so because I am at a “cross-roads” so to speak, and am about to lose my present position. My understanding from Mrs. [1770] is that a Life Reading would entail no further expense insofar as medical treatment, and so forth, is concerned. The question is, is it possible for me to avail myself of the privilege of a Life Reading thru the sponsored membership plan? If so, how? If not, in view of my already having had a Physical Reading, does the additional Life Reading cost $20.00? (I don’t have the booklet here with me in my office, so perhaps the latter question is answered there, - but I do want to get this letter in the mail to you.)
Next, if I am able to have a Life Reading, I would like to have it while you are up in New York, of course, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison. Could you be so kind as to save a time for me, remembering that I am a business woman?
Looking forward with great anticipation to your visit with us, and again thanking you from my heart for the Physical Reading, I am
Sincerely yours, (Miss) [2116]

B2. 2/22/40 Miss [2116]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you so much for your prompt answer to my letter of the 17th. Desiring to become an Associate Member of the Association, I herewith enclose my check for Ten Dollars (
10.00) in part payment, and will send the balance of Ten Dollars (10.00) on or before March 15th. If there were time, I would investigate the sponsored memberships, but I do sincerely wish to avail myself of the appointment you have so kindly given to me, and therefore trust that the above arrangement will be satisfactory to you.My understanding is that my reading will be a Physical one and will take place this Sunday, February 25, between 10:30 and 11:30 in the morning, E.S.T. I shall be at my home at that time - … Street, New York City.
I shall be grateful for the help of Miss Smith or someone in the proper framing of my questions, and also in the elimination of those that do not properly belong to a Physical Reading.
What is the cause and cure of the following:
- Sinus condition?
- Coughing?
- Heart pounding and puffing?
- Continual state of exhaustion?
- Sleeplessness?
- Nervousness?
- Aches in back?
- Depressed in mental condition?
Is there a physical condition that is the cause of some of the above, and if so, what and how can it be corrected?
Or, is it the result of mental and emotional disturbances that come from my present position in business?
With gratitude and belief,
Sincerely yours, [2116]
