This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 5th day of January, 1924, in accordance with request made by himself - Mr. [221].

Born November 4, 1893, in Aspen, Col. Time of Reading 11:40 A. M. …, Okla. (Horoscope Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the conditions here, and the record as has been made, and as will be made, both in the present and past and future, as we see from conditions existing in the present sphere or aura of the individual. All is not good, yet in many phases of earth’s sphere, known as success, this individual will rise high, yet ever those of the wandering forces, as gained from the influences of the Mercury and Neptune forces, will be in this entity’s doing and undoing.

2. As to time of completeness of present entity, we find it was after the forces had made of the spherical forces the entity’s abode, for the completeness came some forty minutes (as time is counted) after birth, under then the influence of Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Jupiter afar, and in certain stages being the factor that should be used with will forces to the upbuilding of the present sphere.

3. Saturn and Mars afflicting, Moon’s forces being earth’s spheres. Hence the entity’s ability to handle those forces in nature that come from earth’s storehouse, and any of the elements of this nature become the speculative forces for the financial returns to this body in the earth plane. The greater returns will come within the next five months, provided on the day when the forces are under the influence of Uranus and Jupiter’s forces the Mercurian elements are submerged in those conditions.

4. One with the afflictions of the forces as given in Mars and Saturn will and does make one slow to wrath, but subtle in the ultra extent in carrying out purposes, good or bad.

5. One that in the greater development will find moments, hours, years of sublime forces entering in with the great vision of Venus and Jupiter forces, yet holding these rather as ideals than making of these forces a reality in his own experiences.

6. These of the Moon and Sun’s forces we find working as antagonistic in the development of financial forces in Mercurian elements, yet one that will oft times have within his grasp the highest influences of financial force in earth plane.

7. As to forces with the will as established in self, the entity would do well to keep in that straight and narrow way that leadeth to life everlasting, giving of itself in the moments and hours of the Jupiterian force as is found in the next five months (that is the earth forces).

8. In the elements as make for the entity’s association with others would come January and June and December, near those of its own weak forces, for in union there is strength. That is, those whose likes and dislikes accord with this individual in the astrological realm.

10. Before this we find this portion of entity in that of the Grecian age when the fall of the Government was under the rule of the idealists and the materialists became the ruling force of the day. This entity, as then, was the leading force in the minority at the time; hence was often referred to as the weakling of the day.

In that before we find the entity as that of the leader as chosen for the first king Saul] in and with the chosen people, and was the herder as sought the lost animals of his father when appointed as the leader. [1. Sam. 9:2; 11:15] Hence we find in this present sphere those elements bringing through in this personality and individuality those as in this:

12. In the first the one chosen of the higher elements. Hence ever those forces about this entity where, though all others fail, this one may, through direct self-control, gain those forces of the higher and highest realms in the present plane.

13. In the second that force as is manifested in the great thoughts and ideals builded about self, yet ever just beyond carrying those to execution. May be done by sheer will and by adhering to those immutable laws that give self the insight of the forces that lend to the upbuilding of all force relative to the higher elements.

14. In stature from that of all force, as is given, ever has the entity been under the influences of Mercurian elements.

B2. 12/15/23 He reported on 221-1, submitting questions: “Were my wife and I the persons who left Mr. [4906]‘s home at 4:20 P.M. on the day you gave Mr. [4906] a rdg. in which you said that he was to beware of the persons who had just left and that he should sever his relations with them? Why was this given?

“What was meant in my rdg. [221-1] that I was destined to be a leader amongst men and that I was destined to be an equalizing force with the masses? Would it be better if I was associated with Mr. [4906] in the drilling of the well in San Saba, Texas or otherwise? Why? [See 4906-1 Reports of Reading on 11/30/23.] I have in mind some places near Okmulgee, where I am figuring on drilling wells for oil and would like to know if you would give me rdgs. on these spots. If I drilled the wells on the places which you gave, I would carry the Cayce Institute for an interest in these wells.”

B3. 12/19/23 EC wrote: “I am glad that the reading described - your physical condition as you know it, for it must be true that your inner self knows your condition better than anyone else…

“In reference to the rdg. 4906-1, I have no way of knowing whether you were the person referred to or not. That is left entirely with Mr. [4906]‘s own mind. Seemingly, to me, it is too bad that a rdg. should interfere with anyone, but whatever the forces are I have no control over them, and if it sees fit to give such information, and it so proves to lie on some individual, I cannot change it. I do not believe it would be just the thing to question the rdg., or to ask this in another rdg., though it may be barely possible that such a question could be brought out in the horoscope [Life Rdg.] for yourself, such as you have already requested…

“As to the information on places you are planning to drill wells, it might be possible to try this. That would be your proposition, or assignment, or what sort of an interest would you make to the Cayce Institute for such information?…

“I am trying to do the best I know how to be of service. When requests are made, giving all my time and that of two others, it is necessary that there be some remuneration. We do not set a given price, but try to do to others as we would have them do to us, under the same conditions.”

B4. 12/29/23 Mr. [221] wrote: “My questions about the rdg. of Mr. [4906] were asked to ascertain for my own information why we should not be affiliated in business and to see which one would be holding the other back. I am anxious to get the horoscope rdg. which you promised to give me on Jan. 5th at 11:00 a.m.

“In regard to the interest which I would assign to the Cayce Institute for rdgs. on places to drill, this would depend on the type of deal I had, the amount of acreage involved in the deal, etc., but you can rest assured that I would be very fair in case I got a good well. I am going to ask you a couple of questions in this letter which you may be able to answer at the end of the horoscope: 1. Where is the best place to drill in the east half of Township 15, Range 12 in order to strike the pool of Wilcox Oil which we have been drilling for during the past year? 2. Will I get a producing well if I drill in Section 23, Township 15, Range 13, Okmulgee County in the spot where I intend to drill?”

B5. 1/3/24 EC wrote: “The horoscope will be taken, if the Lord is willing, on Jan. 5th. The questions you asked cannot be tacked onto this, but would have to be separate and distinct. Before giving the oil rdg. I’d like to know what was expected to be done with it. Just to hand out information of this kind without any understanding as to whether it is going to be considered or used or not, I fear has been the greater trouble with my past experiences of the kind. Not that I distrust you, nor your purpose, but it is better that we understand each other in the beginning and not have bad aftermaths.”
