This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of June, 1942, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [1866], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Grant Hospital, Time of Reading Room 425, 11:10 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern War Time. Columbus, Ohio.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - the body is becoming very much run down, very weak.

3. Owing to the unbalanced forces through the circulation, the arterial walls are leaking, thinned. It is thus that the blood is being discharged, or from which hemorrhage is coming.

4. It would be well if there would be the administrations of the blood that has been developed by the hospital in Vanderbilt; the oxblood that in its activity forms the coagulating forces to relieve and to stop this hemorrhage.

5. Then, afterwards, it would be well that small doses of beef juice - not tea, not soup, but beef juice - be administered every two hours; not more than half to three-quarters of a teaspoonful.

6. These offer the opportunities of allaying, of retarding, and building the system for resistance.

7. Do that, but do it at once.

8. We are through with this reading.

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach Virginia

Dear Mr. Cayce:

My niece Mrs. [1866] asked me to write you and thank you for your promptness in answer to her wire, she was desperate and of course the first thing she thot of was to wire you, [2227] was desperately ill, took him in on Wednesday morning, unconscious thinking he would never regain, all the doctors at the hospital gave him up, [1866] said, “No, he must get well,” and if ever we prayed, we surely did then, so he had a fair night last night, has had 5 transfusions and while he sleeps a lot but we think we can see a little color in his face now, for a few days he looked just like a dead man and really I do think he went in a coma he has a very strong heart so we now think nothing preventing he will pull thru but it will be a long hard fight. [1866] will write you just as soon as she can pull herself together, see it coming so soon after her Mother [2646]‘s death it was hard for her, I do miss my sister so much, Mr. Cayce you will never know how much, we were very close as you know. I am so alone sometimes I think I can’t endure the loneliness but there is nothing else to do, perhaps I am left to be of help and comfort to somebody. We are very busy in the office and that’s my only salvation. Thanking you again,

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Thank you, Mr. Cayce, for the reading - [2227] has been so critically ill but is pulling out of it now.- He has had 5 blood transfusions & will probably have 2 more.-

I could not get them to follow your instructions (you know the old story) but it was a comfort & relief to me to know the cause of the trouble.- They all THINK it is an arterial leaking or duodenum ulcer but will find out later.- [2227] is conscious now & told him yesterday about your reading.- He is relieved to know it is not malignant.-

We had just bought a new home at … Road. I may go on & move & take him there to recuperate -

R3. 6/29/42 Wife’s letter:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Again, we come to you for help! We brought [2227] home from the hospital a week ago, today.

He is improving in every way except his feet. Both are swollen & very painful & the one partially paralyzed. He is very discouraged as they are getting no better & no one seems to know the cause. We are having an osteopath come every other day, but apparently is doing no good.-

Could you please find out what is causing the condition & what to do, if anything.-

He will be here in the apartment for he can not get out.-

We bought a home two days before he took sick (after living in this apt - for over 19 years) we are modernizing it & expect to get in about July 15 -
