This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of April, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1866], Associate member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

3. There are many changes in the general physical forces of the body in the present from that as we have had before.

4. We find that these in the general manner are the disturbances in the present:

5. There is improper coordination between the centers in the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic nervous systems, or where the conjunction of these controls the activities of the body. These are the present disturbances. For, with a form of anemia in the blood supply, and with the quickening influence or rate in the heart beat, this makes an irregularity that becomes rather disturbing to the body; causing portions of the body - or through the lungs and the upper torso - to become quivery and cold, and the extremities at other times become unable to function, or of such a quivering nature as to prevent normal activities. This would not be termed a true heart disturbance, though the irregularity of the pressure and of the pulsation would at times tend to indicate such. It is rather, as indicated, an incoordination or unbalance between the supplying centers along the central nervous system with the sympathetic nerves specifically.

6. In making applications for beneficial conditions, as we find:

There would be first the regulating of the general activity of the thyroids, especially, and for the general system as related to glandular activity; to aid in the assimilating and in creating a normal balance. For this we would take internally one to two drops of Atomidine in half a glass of water each morning before any meal is taken, for five days. Then leave off for at least a similar period. Then take again, and keep repeating this. This is better than any form of sedative that may be taken.

8. Also have colonic irrigations, professionally given, to prevent the accumulations through portions of the colon causing the disturbances to the general alimentary canal and that irregularity or pressure as indicated at times in the upper part of abdomen, close to the left side - or just below the left breast - the irregularity to the pressures upon the nerves that make for this questioning effect upon the heart’s activity.

9. General relaxing treatments also, osteopathically, will aid the body. These should not be stimulating but relaxing treatments, so that there is quietness. And these specifically should be given in those areas where there are the closer associations or reflex activity between the nerves of the cerebrospinal system and the ganglia that connect or join more specifically with the sympathetic system. Thus, in the first four of the cervical areas, in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal areas, the 9th dorsal and the lumbar axis.

10. Do these, and we will bring better conditions for this body, [1866].

Dear Miss [4383]:

Thank you very much for yours of the 6th have thought of you many times since the death of Mrs. [2646], am sure it must be very much of a change for you as well as Miss [1866]. Am glad to hear there appears to be some improvement in the condition of the Dr. [222]. Do hope they can and will try the suggestion made. Know of another case in the Physicians Hospital where a reading suggested the same treatment for a Dr. there and it certainly worked wonders for him, and this happened to be for one of the big surgeons in N.Y.

My OH MY am sure you and miss [1866] both prayed earnestly - and there is certainly effacy [efficacy?] in prayer. God does answer prayer of that am sure, and pray that the Dr. may be spared to a life of usefulness yet and be able to carry on as he would like.

Heard from Mrs. [2415] some weeks ago gave reading for her little granddaughter. All doing very well when last heard. One of the girls lost her husband some months ago in Cal.

Am sure you find it very lonely at times - yet am sure our loved ones are very close to us even tho they have gone through God’s other door and it is up to us to look up lift up our hearts and lives to God. He alone can comfort us - and in keeping busy doing for others we find our loved ones with us at all times.

Dear Miss [1866]

Your wire of the 4th - sorry to hear of the Dr’s illness. Glad to hear from Miss [4383]. Appreciate your having her write - and so glad to know the Dr. is better and do hope he will continue on the improve.

Am sure the prayers of all have helped here as in every other case. Yes - know what a time one has with the Drs. once and while - the suggestion made however was same as give a very well known surgeon in the Physicians Hospital and the man in charge of the case - for then it was used - was nice enough to call me on the phone and tell me - we had saved a man’s life - the Dr. is now back in practice and doing nicely.

Thank you again and again - please remember me to the Dr. and Miss [4383].

Our youngest son who is in army is to be married Saturday afternoon - is in training at Harvard at present - in Signal Corps.

B1. 4/19/42 Letter: “I’m ashamed to start complaining about myself again but I seem to be at the end of everything again. I have all the symptoms that Mother had [[2646], who recently died] (dizzy, short of breath, cough, etc.) and the doctor cannot be certain whether it is a heart condition or a serious nervous condition. Anyway, I am all to pieces and not able to do anything. I am going to ask you to please go over me as soon as you can. Wire me when you wish me to be home and I will be here. We live in a 3rd floor apartment and I can scarcely get up the stairs.”
