This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of April, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [23], through Active Membership of her husband in the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes.

2. Now as we find, there are not as yet wholly normal conditions in the pregnancy that is apparent. Then, there will be the necessity of being very careful during this period; keeping off of the feet most of the time, hands out of water to any great extent, keeping the feet very warm - and most of the time when resting the lower limbs should be a little bit elevated, see?

3. Keep the warm packs when there is pain.

4. And if the discharges continue, after or during the third period, there will be the need for medical attention or hospitalization.

5. However, if this is kept in a nominal, normal manner, then the condition should adjust itself.

6. The weakness in the position of the organs has caused a dropping of the womb, and thus the disturbance at the present time.

7. Some osteopathic adjustments would relieve the heaviness, and would - if properly given - give better precaution or better POSSIBILITIES for the retaining or completing of the developments that are begun.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) Just how and where should the manipulations or adjustments be given? (A) These should be osteopathically given for this character of condition; the lumbar, the sacral, AND the natural supports that such would indicate.

10. (Q) How often would you suggest that these be given? (A) About once a week for three to four weeks; and by then the condition will be known, you see.

11. (Q) What was the cause of the recent distress? (A) As just indicated.

Do these things as we find, and we will make for the better possibilities of there being a normal pregnancy. And as indicated, the third period - or, as it is entering same - should be the questioning time. After that, just the normal precautions, see?

12. (Q) The body should remain quiet until after the third period? (A) As indicated.

R1. 4/19/38 Letter: “I do so sincerely appreciate your giving me my reading in a rush the way you did. I was so completely baffled. I still am. I just don’t understand all about this sort of an affair.

“I’ll speak plainly - because one can’t beat around the bush where the readings are concerned. I thought I was pregnant. We were so happy about it. I wrote Mother because naturally I wanted her to know such news first. I mailed her letter and started to inform you of the turn of events and before I could get it mailed I had reason to think that I was not pregnant after all. I was just sick with disappointment. That was when we asked you for the reading.

“I’ve followed the reading - keeping off my feet as it said, etc. In fact, I’ve been in bed most all the time I’ve felt so badly. I’ve been getting up for meals and I have been so careful. We did so want everything to be alright. I thought that I would get safely through the second period referred to in the reading but I haven’t and I’m just stumped… Would you please ask if hospitalization is necessary, what type of operation should be performed.”
