GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2321].
-
As we find, there are many disturbing conditions, but these all arise primarily from the conditions which have existed - and do exist - through the pulmonaries.
-
This arose from the dust of silicon nature, which caused such irritation that later there came the infectious forces from the tubercle, - that, from the very nature of the activity of silicon upon the body, HAS been more detrimental to the circulatory forces as related to the liver AND the digestive system.
-
While there have been those administrations that have in a great manner allayed the inroads of the condition through the lung, a portion of same has adhered to the sac or pleura. THIS causes the greater distress there.
-
Also there is the inability of the assimilations, as from the effects upon the digestive forces that are acted upon through the circulation in the liver. There is the lack of acids in the proper relations or proportions, also the lack of sufficient of the elements of the calcium nature in the body.
-
Thus the greater weaknesses are produced, and the inability of resistance being completely built up.
-
As we find, the diets, the care in the open are excellent; but if we would add these - as we will suggest here - there may be found a great deal of assistance, and the eventual gaining of strength to the body:
-
First we would prepare an antiseptic for the bronchi and the lungs, the trachea, that will be most effective in stimulating circulation through that portion of the lung where the lesion and the opening occurs at present. Prepare it in this way and manner:
-
In a two gallon oak keg, charred inside, put one gallon of Pure Apple Brandy. Close the bung tight. Make two openings in one end, one that may be kept tightly corked and only opened as an air vent when the other would be opened through which the fumes from the evaporation of the liquid would be inhaled. Through keeping the keg in a warm place, the evaporation that takes place in the space above the liquid in the form of gas or fumes may be inhaled into the lungs two to three times each day. At first only take one or two deep inhalations at the time, through the mouth - to be sure, but breathe or draw into the lungs, NOT the stomach. Then after three or four days there may be two or three whiffs at the time, and the amount gradually increased as the strength is aided by same.
-
At least once each day take a teaspoonful of ACIGEST stirred in a glass of raw milk (sweet milk). This is to aid in carrying the proper balance of the digestive foods or compounds that will assimilate with the gastric flow of the stomach; thus enabling the body to better assimilate those foods that are taken.
-
Twice each day we would add the calcium through the compound known as CALCIOS; just about the quantity as would cover a small whole wheat cracker, eaten in that manner. In the beginning, though, take this (the Calcios) twice a day for two or three days; then leave off entirely for three days; then begin again and take it for six to ten days, then leave off three days; then begin again, and so on.
-
Keep the rest of the care, - and we will find we will aid in eradicating the conditions produced in relationships to both the upper and lower hepatic circulation, as well as purifying the lungs.
-
Of course, be mindful of night air, rain or heavy drafts; but these are a part of the precautions in the environs and surroundings at present.
-
Do these, if we would bring the better conditions for this body, [2321]. Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

CALCIOS and ACIGEST are both manufactured and distributed by The Colloidal Health Products Corp., Atten. A. A. Nichoson, Greenvale, Long Island, N.Y. The Calcios is a syrupy paste that sells for 3.50 a jar, and according to the Readings, it is the best way of assimilating free calcium. Acigest is a liquid that sells for 1.00 a bottle, and according to the Readings is the best way of furnishing hydrochloric acid - when taken in raw milk.)

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/20/40 Mother-in-law Mrs. [2415]‘s letter to GD: “I was so pleased to hear from you personally this morning. [2688] had asked me this morning to write you all and tell you how pleased we were with the suggestions Mr. Cayce gave us in his reading. Will you please have him read over the case and see what his opinion is about having him at home with a practical nurse, the climate in … is practically the same as Monrovia, just … miles from here. If he thinks it advisable we shall build a screened porch and then we can use the method prescribed by Mr. Cayce, as it would be impossible to do the things he said to do [otherwise] and we all are very anxious to follow his suggestion.”
R2. 9/6/40 GD’s letter to [2415]:
Mrs. [2415]: …, Calif.
Dear Mrs. [2415]:
I am terribly sorry about the delay in writing you. Your letter came at a time when we were “head over heals” in work, and I failed to MAKE myself remember the importance of answering your questions about moving [2321].
Mr. Cayce says he thinks it would be the very thing to move him home, so that you can follow the Reading in detail. Of course, you already are familiar with the general care and attention he is getting at the sanitarium, and can continue that; in addition giving him the curative treatments as suggested in the Reading. I hope you will be able to do this right away (if you have not already), and that he will soon be showing remarkable improvement.
With kindest regards, and trusting you will let us hear from you as to how he gets along, I am
Sincerely, [signed] Gladys Davis
R3. 10/13/40 (Sunday) Mother-in-law Mrs. [2415]‘s letter:
Miss Davis & The Cayces
I’ll make this a joint letter. I just want to tell you that [2321] is at home now in his new room that [4825] built on to their home. He is so happy & contented and we are using the Brandy in the keg and sent to Long Island for a months supply of Calcios & Acigest. Had a nice reply from the Company saying their office was the only place it could be purchased. Sorry we can’t get it closer but the Seven dollars may be cheap medicine -
At first the fumes burnt his throat but lately he hasn’t said anything about that. We are going strictly by your Reading, Mr. Cayce.
Now when do you think there should be a check reading on him. He seems to have very tender feet & stiff joints in his toes which I think comes from no use of these feet now for seventeen months. He is very anxious to sit up but we think it advisable to wait until we have a check on his condition.
He runs a subnormal temperature & pulse around 82 to 90 ever since he came home.
We are studying & feeding him well balanced meals.
I have taken fall charge of him, but as I haven’t been very well for two years now I feel myself slipping in my condition
- [2688] thinks this membership entitles us to a reading of another one of the family. If so - she would like for you to give me a reading [See 2415-2] at your earliest convenience. As for the time that I am at home, - is practically ALL THE TIME.
R4. 12/1/40 [2321]‘s questions -
Is it advisable to administer air to or rather into his lung or will nature take care of that?
Can you suggest a treatment to loosen the tendons in his feet & legs and strengthen them?
Will it be too great a strain on him to get up gradually now?
Is his diet well balanced.
My only question for myself is to find my trouble and give me a way to get well [See 2415-2 Background].
Thanks a million [2415]
R5. 12/5/40 See 2321-2.

B1. 7/22/40 Extract from Mrs. [2415]‘s file letter: “My object in writing is to ask you to give [2688]‘s husband a Reading as to his condition and treatment. She is having a terrific expense at present, and wonders if you could do this for $10 and she will send you another check as soon as she gets a little relief form obligations. The boy’s name is [2321], Cabin 33, Monrovia, California, Dr. Pottenger’s Sanatorium.”
B2. 8/6/40 We appreciate your prompt reply. We are not testing your ability as to diagnosis, as we know too well your powers, but we are so anxious to find whether [2321] is in the right place and receiving the right treatment. He has been in the Tuberculosis Sanatorium for over a year and [2688] says you can fully depend upon her entire cooperation. We are living with [2688]. She is working. We are watching her closely so that there will not be a repetition in the family of this disease. [2321] is, or was rather, a musician
- played the bass fiddle, and I’ve found that musicians lead a very hard life.
