This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of December, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2415], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: We have the body here, [2415].

3. Many, many changes have come about since last we had this body here.

4. In the present, we find that there are disturbances in the glandular forces that affect primarily the nerve system of the body; thus the reactions come in many varied ways.

5. These, as we find, are from an impoverishment to the nerves; and thus the anxieties, the catchy pains, the weakness as experienced at times in all of the functionings - even of the organs, as well as the activity to the locomotory systems of the body.

6. As we find, it would be well to administer those properties to effect better activity for the glandular system, but in rather a systematic manner. In the FIRST, these may cause - after a few days of application - a tendency towards greater anxiety, - until there is the adjusting of the system to the changes that need to take place to eliminate disturbances from the body.

7. We would begin in this manner:

8. Take internally each day for five days the ATOMIDINE. Begin with one minim in half a glass of water before the morning meal is taken. Each day increase this one drop (or minim) until five drops are being taken.

9. Then leave off, and do not take for five days more.

10. DURING that five-day rest period from this, use the Violet Ray (hand machine, bulb applicator) over the cerebrospinal system. Use it by beginning at the central portion of the back, or the 9th dorsal. This should be applied directly to the body, you see, - that is, to the skin itself. Go upward first, to the base of the brain, across the shoulders, down the arms - back and forth; that is, TOWARDS the extremities with the arms and hands, then back towards the body, see? Do the same way along the spine, extending from the 9th dorsal upward and then back down again, on either side of the spine, as well as across the shoulders and arm, as well as the frontal portion of the body to the waistline, see? Then use it from the 9th dorsal DOWNWARD the same way, then back to the 9th dorsal - or the central nerve system. Take about three to five minutes of this treatment - that is, for the whole of the treatment over the body, you see each day for the five days. Do not make the application in a way, however, that it is just something to be gotten through with, or rid of, but do it with the intent and the expectation that it is to be a helpful experience for the body; and it will! Do this five days.

11. Then begin with the Atomidine again.

12. After the Atomidine has been taken another five days, THEN have a general cleansing of the alimentary canal with the use of a mixture of Fletcher’s Castoria AND Syrup of Figs. Alternate the doses. Take small doses and alternate them; about half a teaspoonful of each every hour, which would be every half hour taking first one and then the other, see? one time the Castoria, the next time the Syrup of Figs. Take this throughout a whole day, you see.

13. When this has acted thoroughly, - then take - say the next morning before breakfast, or the like - a big dose of Eno Salts to flush the system properly; say about two teaspoonsful, see?

14. Rest from any of these then for five days.

15. Then begin with the electrical treatment again (violet ray), and take for five days.

16. Then take the Atomidine again.

17. With the diet, - beware of white potatoes, fats of any kind, and greases. No meat save fish, fowl or lamb. No fried foods. No white bread. Not too much of pastries.

18. Doing these, we should find bettered conditions for this body.

19. Ready for questions.

R1. 12/18/40 Letter: “[948]‘s little girl, [2663], seems to be a problem child and just as soon as we can afford to, we are going to have you go over her thoroughly and see if you can’t put your finger on her trouble. Doesn’t it seem strange to think you’re starting on the fourth generation of our family?

“I fully believe you have found my trouble and I have now finished the first five days treatment of the Atomidine and starting on the violet ray treatment tonight. [2688] bought me one for my Xmas present. How well I remember my brother-in-law [287] using the violet ray and with wonderful results. I have been so very miserable for the past two years that I was beginning to think there was no relief for me.”

R2. 3/8/41 She requested a Check Physical for her son-in-law, Mr. [2321], also for herself: “If you can check my right side and back at the same time, I would surely appreciate it, but if it’s too much of a strain on you, just take [2321].” [She was nursing her son-in-law, a T.B. case, while her daughter continued her job.]
