This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of October, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [2348], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2348]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, there are improvements in the general physical forces of the body, as well as in the specific disturbances as related to the optic nerve.

4. This disturbance, as we find - the inflammation - is being disseminated.

5. Then, the precautions need to be kept - for the next few weeks especially - that there is not the overstraining, or that as would prevent the elimination of that being dissipated in the system.

6. After two weeks, there should again be a series of the adjustments; not too deep, but making those stimulations for eliminations from those areas above the 6th dorsal to the 1st cervical; stimulating - about twice during those adjustments and mechanical applications - along the cerebrospinal system - in the 9th dorsal and the 4th lumbar.

7. We would begin with the electrical treatments again, after the first and second osteopathic treatment. This time there should be at least six to eight such treatments, these extending then beyond the period of the osteopathic adjustments; and then later, after finishing with the electrical treatments, have a DISSIPATING adjustment (osteopathically) throughout the whole of the spine.

8. And we should find conditions gradually adjusting themselves to the normalcy for this body.

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) I should return to New York in two weeks? (A) In two weeks from now.

11. (Q) How many osteopathic treatments should be given altogether, in the second series, and how close together? (A) As just indicated, first give two - these may be given within the same week. Then begin with the electrical treatments, see? Have at least six to eight to ten of these. Along with these now, or at the same time, have two more of the adjustments - which will be one week apart.

Then, after finishing with the electrical treatments, have another osteopathic treatment of a GENERAL, DISSIPATING nature.

12. (Q) How often should the electrical treatments be given? (A) This should be dependent upon, and be kept in accord with, the EFFECT that is being created. Not overstimulation, but dissipation - as is being done.

13. (Q) Would teaching during the next two weeks be detrimental? (A) Teaching should not be detrimental for the next two weeks. Just don’t strain the eye at night, see?

14. (Q) What should be done for the eliminations in the next weeks, to keep them as they should be? (A) As we find, the ENO SALTS would be the preferable eliminant; a small quantity - a level teaspoonful in a glass of water each morning before any meal is taken.

15. (Q) Any particular diet? (A) Plenty of carrots; plenty of corn cereals, and corn in all its forms would be well for the body; as also the whole wheat. These are well. Plenty of vegetables; and especially plenty of pears, figs and the like. This is not to be all the diet, to be sure, but these are to be included oft in the diet.

Do these. Be persistent, be prayerful; not over-anxious. Rather let the meditation be:

USE ME, O GOD, IN THE WAY AND MANNER THOU SEEST THAT I MAY BETTER SERVE THAT PURPOSE FOR WHICH I CAME INTO THIS EXPERIENCE.
